I'm seeing a lot of complaints about me touching their faces to redirect them. I pretty much have to do that so they don't slither off the table and go splat on the concrete floor. It probably startles them for a second, but it is better than falling over 3 feet onto the hard floor.
I bought my first ball python, a lemon blast from him last December as a birthday present for myself. It was dated as hatched in September of that year. Snake was healthy and happy, not a single concern since. thanks for giving me such an awesome experience, and exposing me to these awesome creatures. I would really like to get a pied as well so I will likely be purchasing from you again soon!

i just got my first boop noodle 3 days ago and lemme say GET ONE shes super nice and from the first time i held her she was a curios bby and hella sweet. i fed her for the first time today and she IMMEDIATLY ate the micey mouse. so yes, if you can, get one
I'll be getting my first ball python soon, and I will definitely go for an established feeder. For snakes that can live well past twenty years, 6 months to a year for established eating on thawed mice is well worth it.
I cannot express, to anyone getting a Ball Python for the first time, how nice it is to get a snake that’s established on frozen/thawed. My first BP came to me eating live. He’s over a year now and is still eating live. He absolutely will NOT eat f/t. No matter what I’ve tried, other than just starving him, he nopes out. My 2nd BP came to me on f/t. What a HUGE difference!! 🐍❤️🐍
I've had my ball python Lady Oats for a year now, currently have her sitting on my chest while I watch this. I'm so glad I got into snakes thanks to my partner, they are so cool & such sweethearts!!!
Still a few months away from getting my first ball python but so glad I found your channel as I was one of those people who wanted a hatchling but hadn't really thought it through at all. Look like I'll be shooting for 4-6 month range from a breeder. Thank you!
OK, I got an interesting situation over here that you may or may not ever heard of, but I figured I would drop u a line, since you are so knowledgeable. I have 7 balls right now ranging from 1.5 months - almost 1 year (in a few days.) I bought him older than the others, but have owned over 4+ months now. I know the ropes, but this is unlike anything I can find out about online or figure out myself, even the reptile guy was wrong at the local store (let me explain.) I have two baby balls, not related, that I bought close to the same time, so since we are going to an expo next week, I took a vivarium, since I do have MPI cages too, that really aren't much better than the full glass tanks all set up right in keeping in warmth and humidity, but I keep the whole upstairs the right temp. for them. (warmer than the main floor, basement etc.) BUT I do have one viv. split in 1/2 right now with glass for my 1st two balls, they never ever seemed to care or notice each other and are extremely well adjusted 'dog-like' ball pythons. I trust them 1,000%. One of my two new balls are fiesty and strikey, and if he were my 1st I may not have grown my addiction, but he was not, and I am not scared like I once was anymore, though I hope he will grow out of it. So they have been here only 2.5 weeks or so, and my husband has a temporary separation for their vivarium until the show, and my female kept managing (she's much tinier, though the breeder claims the male is the same age, I think he is off a month, as she is far smaller and a female, so I'd say she s 1.5 mo and he is 2.5 mo. now about.) She is a super sweet girl, but this issue of trying to get over is very recent. My husband would fix any issue but still somehow she'd get thru. He has no visible interest in getting to her side, but she started waking me all night fighting to get into his. Can't believe she could make noise at her size, but I am a light sleeper, and I sleep alone up here since this occurred to keep an eye out. Every time I woke up, she would be on his side with him in his hide, side by side or if it had to be, somewhat on top, but she has 3 HIDES, lots of bushes to hide in also, they both have the same hot spots, although the reptile manager said yesterday, to try switching their sides. That it's not 'snake love' and cuddling, but her just preferring his side/ hot spot. OK... so after her fighting all yesterday (no longer just at night), she is trying all day and night and getting into there eventually, so IDK, she used to sleep in her own hide fine, but again, a recent thing, and nothing changed to make this happen, and he didn't say anything about me needing to worry about mating at such very, very young ages at all, which I am glad there is no worry there YET, but eventually there would be, so I know this isn't good, but like he said, I took the sides last night and changed everything around so she gets his side/ hot spot as there might be a slight difference she likes and that this is ALL THAT IT CAN BE. I asked about dominance, although I know they are not dogs, and she is smaller snake and a female and he is the larger male and certainly has scared me, so I also was very scared about him eating her, but obviously, that isn't happening by now, but of course, my big concern, so I could get a tub until either we get something else or do decide to glass up this cage, I am just afraid she is always gonna year to get over to him, and that this could be stressing him out although in the hide together right now, he does not appear stressed, no heavy breathing etc. But I have taken the hide off and put her back several times now and she goes batty to try and get over again, which is very difficult, but she has made it. Now it was kind of an experiment to see if she'd be happy on her NEW SIDE, HIS FORMER SIDE ONLY YESTERDAY AND NOPE!!!! So, if there is no snakey love, why is she acting like Juliet trying to get to Romeo so badly. It's not an older boy or any boy fighting to get to a female it is her, and she's like 80 grams maybe by now.. maybe. Just weird lol. I feel bad because I know they are in fact smarter than some people claim and I do have balls that enjoy my handling, getting out, and none of mine don't enjoy some interaction, some just less so than some others, but if they are such solitary creatures, why is this happening???? ANYBODY?? I believed the guy at the shop that there was nothing feeling wise, OK, and I never witnessed that b4 so it made sense, but his theory got debunked now.. how do we know know and what else could it even be????? I know the risks of housing ANY two snakes together. I never plan on doing that.. I don't wanna see her stressed, so I may have to permanently separate beyond glass and her very own space, but why is this even occurring? I'm eyeballing some vision cages as my babies grow, but i am going to rep. show on the 10t,h, might get some good deals on something there again, I just am at a loss? Yeah, it appears cute to a girl like myself, but I don't want him stressed. He did snap when I took her away one time. IDK.. LOL. (Then again, I do call him jaws as he bit me during the unboxing, lol.) I know they are not humans, but I do see behavior that has gone against ball theory b4 by people, zero offense here, I am talking about behavior some may miss, who maybe have hundreds of balls in rack systems and don't handle and get to know every snake like I have and do. IDK..I spend time handling each of them and I know their personalities. I didn't want the 'jaws' to hurt my little Athena cutie-pie, but he doesn't mind her at all. They both ate separately the other day.. same day she went over to my horror i see a pie bald with a black face that was not his coming out of the hide, lol. I am at a loss.
I got my first ball python last year. His birthday is in September. At first I was so nervous and scared to hold him but now, he’s more than I can ask for. Never stuck, hissed once.(I was messing with him after a shed my fault) over all great little baby. He’s been more I could ask for.
The first bp you brought out the white and brown smaller of the two is a beautiful little snake the white on it really popped out on me gorgeous great videos bud
I got my ball when she was about as old as the second snake you chose I’m happy because she is still really small and you can watch them grow but she was already a good eater and shedding by time I got her. I’m looking at getting some other snakes and I agree with you get something that’s just a few months older. I personally feel uncomfortable having something fresh out of the egg.
Do you have any tips on how to get a ball python who only wants to eat live, to eat frozen thawed? Someone I know is wanting to get rid of her bp with everything for a low price, but the snake will only eat live. I appreciate you taking time to read this, have a nice day!
Pastel Mojave orange dream. What price would you put that at!? Haven’t had one in years. I’m 32 and my stepson wants to bread. What price would you put it at? I’ve owned all sorts of reptiles and know a decent amount of what I’m doing.
This video was very useful to me! I am looking into buying a ball python, I have been in love with snakes for years and I am finally deciding to get one of my own. :)
It's not beginners that do this, it's people who think they know best. those people fail to admit their mistakes and change their habits for the better
Your snakes look so cute and cool , am interesting in getting a few from you that i found on morphmarket but i am wondering why you only list their year of birth and not their whole birthday on the site. Also i think more pictures of the snakes from different angles would be nice.
Might be a dumb question, but do they bite? I’m sure it would, but what kind of threat could I pose to make it strike me? I ask cause I want to get one for my kids?
I have always loved snakes and new a lot about them. But I lived in hawaii and it's illegal. But now that my parents are divorcing my mom told me and she was like 'now that we're moving up to seatle you can get a snake'. I freaked because I have wanted one since kindergarten.
I couldn't find a single breeder on morph market that had a BEL that was feeding on frozen thawed so I'm praying the switch from live will be easy for my female that is 2 1/2 months old and at about 120 grams. Her breeder told me she's an excellent eater on pinky rats. I'm both nervous and confident that I will be able to make the switch. She will be my first snake 🙂 All of your babies look amazing.
@@hotdogpepper8410 ive had my bp for a while now, shows no aggression loves beings handled and I’ve never been bit, sounds like you were dealing with a stressed out noodle.
Oh my god. The Pinstripes look absolutely buetiful. I am getting a Ball Python next week at a reptile show. Im hoping to get a cheap Pastel (60ish) and as young as 4 months old and as old as 7 months. I will settle for a regular morph but the pastel just looks gorgeous. It all comes down to the amount of mulah I can spend though :( I dont mind however, the regular morphs are still beautiful snakes.
Isn't the spider gene banned? I'm just getting in to snakes but what does it actually mean? No spots or dark colors? I saw something with a bobble and stuff. Can someone explain?
I really want a ball python and my mums considering letting me get one but I preferably want a female banana lesser so next year I might be able to get one! Thanks this help
I'm in love with the albino snake with the red eyed and all snakes with the banana gene love them this comes from a woman who was terrified of snakes I had a phobia of snakes until recently had a traumatic experience when I was 8yrs.old at the Philadelphia zoo
BP's can range anywhere from 50 bucks to $8,000. Usually their cheaper at expo's but I've never been to one I Bought my friend a Banana Cinnamon for around $200.
I'm so happy you just explain this you just answered a bunch of questions I've had. I've spoke with you on more than 1 occasion on Facebook in regards to ordering I've always preferred to get a ball python as a hatchling because of what you just said I want it to be able to bond with me and my kids to be a non-aggressive I've been to a few local breeders properties and they had more than a couple ball pythons that were aggressive and obviously weren't handle that much and didn't get out of their enclosures that always raise concern if I purchased one would it be aggressive I have 2 males now a banana and an albino the banana is 700 grams the male is 1400 grams and I want to get a female that will be ready for breeding season next year which means it cannot be a hatchling
Do you have any male cinnamon mocha males that are a little bit older than a baby one or a. Yellow belly Mojave male is. A little older than a baby.if so how much?
I know this is an old video, but does the colors have an effect on temperament? like ive never had a snake, so Ive been thinking about a ball, but im more concerned with handleable than looks if that makes sense?
New ball python owner:) My male Hercules is a year old and I've had him for 3 days. The day before we got him he was fed a small live rat. According to the Breeder I received him from I was able to hold and play with him. He's getting ready to shed . How long does it take for them to shed and when should I hold him again?
Robbi Kuterbach they shed when they are ready to shed! Keep the humidity up and you'll be good. You should not handle the snake while in shed, because their skin is very sensitive while in shed. So you can handle it a day after the shed.
Mastermind 100 a ball python is hardly aggressive snake even if they're mad they might not even try to bite you their fangs are not big enough to exactly do much damage but thay can make you bleed but they're not that big of fangs
Mastermind 100 they rarely bite and usually before they bite they hiss its loud enough for you to hear the warning. Also make sure you don't smell like food, that will also cause a bite. Even if you receive a bite from an adult its the shock that is worse than the actual bite.
it is very rare that you'd get bitten. the only times it would bite you is if you smell like food (they don't have good eyesight so they might mistake your finger that smells like mice as a mouse) (this is also why you don't handle them right away after they eat), if you scare them and keep harming them they'll strike out, and lastly if you have a snake that wasn't treated well before you got it it might be more nervous or mad. also, their bites arn't bad- they have small fangs that are only dangerous to its prey. it might draw a little blood but its not going to be serious. just wash it and move on. good luck (:
Im commenting way to late but eh, maybe itll help someone else. Well specially ball pythons very rarely bite out of fear or anger, they mostly tuck back and try to escape, but do if you smell like rat/mice and you snake thinks your food and will maybe bite you kf your unlucky. Now i have never been bit by a snake but im really confident to it not really hurting as ive done a lot of reaserch on it. Of course a ball python bute will hurt more than fx. A milksnake bite as ball pythons tend to get a big bigger and eat karger meals but it will just give you a shock and maybe hurt a bit whilst ut holds on. If you dont want it to keep holding on until it understand that you are not food you can either: pour hot (not too hot) water on its head or pour a little bit of alcohol in its mouth, as it doesnt like the taste. If it isnt a bite because it thinks your food and you have maneger to piss it off enough to bite you, witch is pretty hard in my opinion it will hurt less than if it thinks your food because then it will just strike at you, bite for a milisecond and then let go again. If it bites you and holds on i doesnt really loke like a movie shot haha, instead of two big holes it will be alot of small pricks. It will though, bleed more than a normal little wound or prick wound as thay have something in their caliva ( if thats how you spell its in in their spit things) that makes thing bleed more. Its not like it bleed a lot it just bleed a bit more witch is actually good because if the ball python had a little bit of bacteria in its caliva, that will come out too! If you read all this, great job! Haha i think i got on a ramble. English is not my first laungage so maybe some of it wont be perfect but i hope i helped you!
I have a banana ball python who is just over a year old. She's my first snake. I did my research before i got her and i know they need to eat every week. However, my snooters eats every other week. Should i be concerned?
That is interesting gthat Banana and Lesser or Banana and Butter don't get the black speckles. I was reluctant to get a Banana because I don't like the speckles but now I might consider it, as I want to pair something with more intense color than my female with her. Also, a year ago you did a video of one of your holdbacks that was a Pastel Super Mystic that was gorgeous with all these O patterns on its sides with what looked like black chalk around the pattern blushing outward and you were thinking you might get some babies coming up that lookeds like that, but I haven't seen another that perfect a pattern on your website. I know you don't show all that you have on there, so do you have any that have hatched out since that look like him? Also, I was wondering if you are open to trades.
I got a ball python from petsmart today and I dont know how old he is. Hes stressed out from being moved from place to play (petsmart had just gotten him in the day before I got him) he hasnt eaten forsure in a week already. I was going to try feeding him in a few days? If he's still a baby that not an established eater how do I go about getting him to eat? My intention wasnt to get the smallest baby I could but just to get a snake. Ive done research on husbandry and stuff but didnt realized the age of the snake could make it more difficult. Id like to give my snake the best chance so learning everything I can is important to me

Please email me directly. Garrick@crestedgecko.com
I’m happy to share some thoughts with you on getting started.
This video was very useful to me! I am looking into buying a ball python, I have been in love with snakes for years and I am finally deciding to get one of my own. :)
That first snake was absolutely gorgeous
Great video. I am just about to get my first ball python. This was good info.
Why do newbies never lissen!!! You can give them all the info in the world and they will do whatever they want in the end.
James H No ! I want to do all right for my pets ! I'm glad if I can learn as much as possible to do the best possible.
It's not beginners that do this, it's people who think they know best. those people fail to admit their mistakes and change their habits for the better
James H why can you never listen in English class!
I am your Pokemon ooooooh get roasted dumbass! Good job
you were a newbie once dumbass
Your snakes look so cute and cool , am interesting in getting a few from you that i found on morphmarket but i am wondering why you only list their year of birth and not their whole birthday on the site. Also i think more pictures of the snakes from different angles would be nice.
Might be a dumb question, but do they bite? I’m sure it would, but what kind of threat could I pose to make it strike me? I ask cause I want to get one for my kids?
They can, but typically they prefer to hide rather than strike. Corn Snakes are a better option, especially for children.
OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!! PYTHONS ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ikr
I have always loved snakes and new a lot about them. But I lived in hawaii and it's illegal. But now that my parents are divorcing my mom told me and she was like 'now that we're moving up to seatle you can get a snake'. I freaked because I have wanted one since kindergarten.
Did you get one? 😁
Hetalia And anime Rant well ok
Hi, I have a question. If I have a python in a smaller terrarium, the snake will grow into size question, right?
I found this video really helpful as I'm planning on getting one! Nice vid & Thanks 4 the upload!
I know this is an older video but I'm a really big fan of your work, you produce absolutely amazing animals.
Good info and great looking snakes!
I’m getting a ball python on Saturday and I can’t wait!
Did everything go alright?
Will definitely be buying a python from you soon... really like the desert.
I love ball pythons my favorite morphs are hunny bee, spider, banana and albino. I love all snakes ❤️🐍
My son want a ball python for his birthday and I was wondering where can I get one from
Morph market has a good variety, just make sure to ask questions before purchasing
@@hotdogpepper8410 ive had my bp for a while now, shows no aggression loves beings handled and I’ve never been bit, sounds like you were dealing with a stressed out noodle.
I love the colors on that first ball python beautiful
Good informative video. Going to check out your website.
I think it’s cute seeing the snakes “interact” ,if they even can, with each other.
I got my first one at 49 grams and cared for her well
Isn't the spider gene banned? I'm just getting in to snakes but what does it actually mean? No spots or dark colors? I saw something with a bobble and stuff. Can someone explain?
The Spider gene is banned at Reptile expos in some areas. The Spider "wobble" is a neurological disorder.
I really want a ball python and my mums considering letting me get one but I preferably want a female banana lesser so next year I might be able to get one! Thanks this help
UnicornGirl 13 Just so you know males are smaller than females and you might get a 6 foot snake or somewhere near that :P just a tip
Yeah stick with the males
Amazing snakes!!!
I'm in love with the albino snake with the red eyed and all snakes with the banana gene love them this comes from a woman who was terrified of snakes I had a phobia of snakes until recently had a traumatic experience when I was 8yrs.old at the Philadelphia zoo
SNEK IS CUTE, I MUST LEARN MORE
I have a question.
How much you selling them
BP's can range anywhere from 50 bucks to $8,000. Usually their cheaper at expo's but I've never been to one I Bought my friend a Banana Cinnamon for around $200.
Nah it was just a gift we are great friends, he helped me get started in keeping a snek.
Hailey Miller *they're*
Hailey Miller also, BPs doesn't need an apostrophe
Hailey Miller I saw a normal baby male hatchling for $15
Please reply. Would a sunset ball python be good for beginners????
I've done some research, but I'm still unsure. Is there any Ball Python species that stay at the size/length as the ones in 8:27 ?
I don't think there is but I have seen other snake species with dwarf parents who won't grow as much so maybe you could look into that
The genetic mutations are not separate species. Spotted, Children and Stimson Pythons stay that size.
How much normally does a scale cost and where could i get one? cause i heard there are scales just for snakes but i'm kinda skeptical on that
How much for a 2-3 month old Banana Ball Python? Beautiful snakes.
What and how often do you feed your holdbacks to bring them up to weight quicker?..... thanks
This ball pythons really impressed me, so cute and just amazing xD
Do you have any male cinnamon mocha males that are a little bit older than a baby one or a. Yellow belly Mojave male is. A little older than a baby.if so how much?
Ken I have one how much it is
i almost caught a grandener snake wild, would this be a good choice to try and capture ?
No it might have mites diseases ect
Whats the site?
cool video, my bumblebee banana got small black spots and its about 1,5 years ,albino ghi nice
I know this is an old video, but does the colors have an effect on temperament? like ive never had a snake, so Ive been thinking about a ball, but im more concerned with handleable than looks if that makes sense?
I was wondering if you knew what i should do about a rat that's been died since yesterday. Can I freeze it and feed it to my snake next week or?
Beautiful ball pythons!
do you still have any more ball pythons
I don’t plan on getting snakes any time soon but I just love watching them because they’re so damn cute
snek: I'm gonna do explore of place
TheRoyalConstrictor: OMAE WA MOU SHINDERU
snek:NANI?!??
Look at those mini beeps!!! I love them! I have a 3 month old girl sleipnir :)
I think the banana ones look best with they have the sprinkling of black spots.
the fire pinstripes are so cute
love your videos sir... do they bite i be trying to get into the hobby for a min but scared am going to get bitten
English is not my first laungage so maybe some of it wont be perfect but i hope i helped you!
i just got a ball python and named her namira and i love her so much
See the way his head and neck did when he first picked it up? Is that also striking position? I get confused with my new ball python.
I have a banana ball python who is just over a year old. She's my first snake. I did my research before i got her and i know they need to eat every week. However, my snooters eats every other week. Should i be concerned?
wow the banana spider has really nice high white sides
SoulHealing Morphs yea but spiders have genetic issues
@@jakefulton8501 oh really? Like what? (Genuinely curious, I have a banana pastel considering getting a banana spider)
Stephanie Weeks look it up it’s bad... look up go herping spider ball pythons. That should explain it all. Don’t get a spider
I understand this is an older video but do you still produce so much spider gene morphs
Whats ur website
Just saw you guts at Repticon in Maryland. Will you be at the one in May?
I got a ball python from petsmart today and I dont know how old he is. Hes stressed out from being moved from place to play (petsmart had just gotten him in the day before I got him) he hasnt eaten forsure in a week already. I was going to try feeding him in a few days? If he's still a baby that not an established eater how do I go about getting him to eat? My intention wasnt to get the smallest baby I could but just to get a snake. Ive done research on husbandry and stuff but didnt realized the age of the snake could make it more difficult. Id like to give my snake the best chance so learning everything I can is important to me
were do you buy them
How big do they get??
do you have any left ....if so how much do you want for them...
Where do I get those containers they put the babies in
Do you guys sell the Morph Calibee?
