Man what a nostalgia trip. Born in 1995, spent a few weeks a year in St. Vincent from 2 weeks old going to 9 years old. 9-10 years old I spent 9 months down there and actually lived in the Canash apartments you were staying right next to; you were about 20ft from the larger 2 story white building with a red roof, which is where my parents and I lived from 2004-2005. It's amazing to see that the Southern peninsula there, down the beach you walked along towards the end, has developed. There used to be nothing out there but a slightly paved road which we would take to the black sand beach on the Eastern side of that peninsula. Lived there during hurricane Ivan in 2004, stayed up at Trinity Medical College; the locals are so laid back I remember sitting outside under the wind as gutters and corrugated sheet metal flew past down the hills while the adults there all sipped from their beers. As for the Pirates filming, all the extras in Port Royal are hired from the on-location populace, including myself. Getting up at 5AM twice a week and riding on the locally-operated buses to and from the set location was not fun, with how they all drive on their insane roads. To give people an idea of how hot it is down there, they attached wigs with double-sided cosmetic tape the first day of extra filming, only to have the tape melt into people's hair. The bar and grill and little 'town' at Wallalibou actually existed well before Disney came to film there, but not all of the buildings did. Young Island is pretty amazing, I'm sad you didn't get to check it out, or Bequia (the island out there in the distance you refer to) which is much smaller than St. Vincent but more 'beachy'. We would set off on Saturday trips to Bequia off the docks at your hotel that you showed in the beginning every so often. But isn't the road into the hotel a trip? If you came in at 11:40PM and had your driver turn there in the dark I'm sure you got more than a little fright at that! Always messed with people. I'm glad to see St. Vincent getting some tourism attention, even if it's just a little.
Maybe you could seek out how to go about getting citizenship in St. Vincent. I love the island and the people. I live in New York but I truly love a number of these islands.
Ik ben daar geweest in 2004 :) Prachtig eiland. Mijn Dad kwam daar vandaan. Op visite geweest bij mijn oma "R.I.P. Miss Sylvia Bailey Fields , Sion hill.

Yes, but why would you ask. They are wonderful people, friendly, helpful and happy. I’m white and lived in St Lucia for four years. You notice people are black for about two days, then you only ‘see’ the person, not the color. Very safe but you leave things of value lay around and they might not be there when you get back...just like anywhere.
How come? Where are all the tall buildings like port of spain.whrre are the doubles and roti. The swamps and huge rivers. Where are the water parks ? Hmm. So different from trinidad Sooooo much different. BUT beautiful in its own right..Each caribbean island is unique .
