Becky, I just want to thank you for your optimism and enthusiasm. I am 70 years old. But I do a lot of the things you do. Garden, can, cook from scratch, etc. My husband had a stroke 4 years ago. He always helped when I had projects, but now I do it all. I had gotten a bit depressed over the cooking and cleaning. I also have to take care of him. But today you lifted my spirits. I will try to look at cleaning the kitchen in a brighter light. Thank you so much!! Many blessings. 😊 love to watch you, you have definitely inspired me to do more. Thank you!! Sandi

Becky I just wanted to let you know that storing your sweet potatoes or regular potatoes near any onion and garlic promulgates a much quicker sprouting of your potatoes. This is because of gases called ethylene gas which onions and garlic releases. It can be in the same room but I put them at polar opposites. If you’ve ever wondered why your potatoes are sprouting quicker than you’d like it could be garlic and onions that are suspect!

I have to have mine in my fridge, but by coincidence I’ve always had them in separate drawers, good for me, I guess… Last year I had a real long time where I didn’t use any potatoes (had a long pasta&rice period) and just left them there, I guess. So right before Christmas, I was going to clear & clean the fridge and toss the potatoes out because they were so old, several months old. When I took them out, I was shocked, I never in my life experienced anything like that. They didn’t only sprout, they had a gazillion itty, bitty potatoes growing on the sprouts! Like a little miracle going on there in my fridge! My jaw must have reached my chest, LOL… I had to just throw them out, but I regretted it sooo badly afterwards, I should have put them in a dark plastic bin and put them out on the balcony, maybe even thrown some soil on them and seen when summer came if I had got usable potatoes from those little «potato babies»… ☺️💚💓💚

Hey Becky! I came home from teaching today and realized I hadn’t pulled anything out for dinner! I almost panicked; however, because of you I bought a whole pork loin at Costco, cut it up, put in jars, and added seasonings (ranch and Taco), filled with pork broth, then pressure canned! So - I cleaned out the fridge for veggies and starch then added the taco seasoned pork I had canned! It’s a delicious goulash! I think I’ll scramble some eggs and make up a breakfast casserole for the weekend!
This is just one time I’ve been grateful for you and your channel. I would never had started canning if it weren’t for you!

Tip-the mop container that appears to be not refillable...put the empty container upside down in a container of very hot water for about 10 minutes, twist the top off while it's hot. This will break the seal, fill with whatever cleaner you want and screw back on. There is a video on RUclips that shows how to do it. Happy cleaning.

My Children are 23,21,16&15. I wish what I know now about cooking from scratch, Baking and Preserving Food, I would of know before I had babies. So I would have had a bunch of meals all made up. Thankful for what My Mother in Law taught me when they were little about cooking!😇 It is a Joy to teach My Daughters what I was taught/I know. The Lord calls us Women/Mama’s to keep us House, to Teach Our Children, Prepare Meals for Family. I also Believe Us Women are to Do SelfCare…Light a Candle as Cook and Clean, Sit with a Great Cup of Coffee or Tea and have some Relaxing Quiet Time with Jesus and Nice Soft Blanket, Take a Nice Warm Relaxing Bath, Go for a Refreshing Walk.

You did a lot in one day for a pregnant lady. I love your pantry. Also I use my sauce master to make applesauce. You wash, quarter and cook the apples. No need to peel or quarter the apples. The skins and seeds are separated from the sauce. It is so fast doing the sauce this way.

She doesn’t have much more than a month left before the baby comes (can’t remember exactly, but around the start of December, I thought) - if I didn’t know better, I wouldn’t have believed it… Amazing! 👏👏👏🤗💓❤️💓

You can make your own "Swiffer" refill to add to your old on and cut the hole to add your own refill. Depending on your model, you'll have to Google it. Also, I know you like to keep things out of the landfill, you can make your own Swiffer sheets. I make them for our older model. Some I cut from the backs of hubs old undershirts, I've also crocheted some and using micro cloths from the Dollar Tree auto area. So glad you are pacing yourself and realizing "bite-sized" pieces is progress. HUGS!

I buy the set of 18 white washcloths from Walmart and use them for Swiffer pads. I kept a refill pad box and in it I make a mix of equal parts water and white vinegar, to which I add a capful of Fabuloso because lordy I love the lavender scent of it. I just dip the washcloth in the cleaner, wring out the extra solution, then attach the damp washcloth to my Swiffer. What I especially like is that I can have the washcloth very wet if I want to really "scrub" the floor, and have it dryer if I'm just doing a quick refresh. After I've gone through my stack of washcloths, I run them through the washer with some bleach and they're ready to go again.

As a professional cleaner with your hardwoods i "wood" suggest investing in a good quality dust mop & 2 or 3 heads for it (washable ones). Murphy's oil soap is a safe family friendly product, and you can put it in a spray bottle diluted with water spray on floor and use the dust mop with it. also, a rumba that returns and self-empties best investment's I've personally ever made.... PS save that ash can for outside... repurposed is amazing!!! OMG HAHAHAHAHA SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TILL THE END>>>> HAHAHAHA Neways with the bambino on the way they would still be an awesome thing 😂 😂.... sorry Josh and Becky

The eggshells are porous and absorb the dirt, when you wash them. So better leave the dirt on the outside and maybe save the cleanest eggs to give away. Even on store bought eggs in Germany you can sometimes see poop stains or a feather. That's ok, just wash your hands after handeling the eggs.
Hope this info helps sb. I really appreciate you sharing your experience, Becky.

Being able to do some cleaning and organizing does wonders for a person's mental health. Wonderful idea to set a timer when you're doing a project that has the potential to be overwhelming! I do that sometimes, and glad I am not the only one. Also a great thing to periodically clean as you go, which really does help! There's a video on RUclips on how to bypass the locking mechanism on the swiffer ones. Basically, you boil some water, put the bottle in the water, lid first, just until it covers the lid and hold for about 10 seconds, then open the bottle. The hot water melts the little plastic pieces that lock the bottle shut . If it doesn't work, do it for another 10 seconds. I did it myself and it does work.

So happy that you shared your method for cooking SC Oatmeal in the Instant Pot. My husband and I both prefer SC Oatmeal to any other kind and I have an Instant Pot which is still so intimidating to use. Silly I know but there it is. I will give the technique a try for sure. It will be interesting to have oatmeal prepared ahead.
Also thank you for showing how you make rice and lentils. I've wanted to try making that for a long time but never found a recipe or technique video that seemed straightforward enough until this one. I think this recipe will appear on our table one night next week.

Loving this video Becky. You look too precious with your little baby bump ❤. I keep staring at the candle on your counter. I have the clove scented one sitting on my island. It is un-burned as I bought it as a gift for my daughter, but it smells SO HEAVENLY that I haven’t fully decided to package it up as a Christmas gift for her or burn it myself and buy her a new one 🤣 I just keep smelling it every time I walk by…. The struggle is real 😂. Edit as I’m watching: you may want to consider tinting the glass of the windows in your pantry. That way sun isn’t effecting your canned foods that you have stored in there.
