Not saying NL isn't witty but this is probably the 50th time he said exactly this, which makes sense since he has been dealing with annoying out of touch twitch viewers for over a decade. At some point he figured out the optimal dialogue options to humble them and quickly go back to whatever he was doing prior.

base SAP was goated, but it got too complex and confusing after patch 4 or so. Even if you go back to just playing puppy pack or base pack they changed a lot of mechanics and they're pretty much solved metas anyway since they've been out so long so you'll just be matched against min-maxers. There's really no going back.

Ngl Id seen enough Balatro by the time the demo was over, myself. I genuinely don't know how or why its as big as it is or why people are going as deep on it as they are. At least it being so repetitive makes it a premium candidate for turning into muscle memory and becoming another 1 man podcast game.

He just cannot see the vision. The first few Balatro streams were rough, but now we've hit the groooove and the quality of the banter is getting tremendous again. Nothing'll beat the Souls-like boss grinds bits though.

I just don't watch the Balatro streams because I both have no idea how the game works nor any interest, so they're basically just bits and banter with 90% idk what's happening filler. It's like that for a lot of games too, but at least then it's a more balanced split closer to 50/50. I can empathise with people who have NL as a primary source of entertainment because having so much content be effectively unwatchable unless you put it on in the background is just... Y'know?

fr tho i didnt watch NL for a good long while. No real reason behind it, not a conscious choice, just dropped off somewhere along the lines and skipped a couple arcs, including SAP.
Watching NL play Balatro got me hooked instantly. Bought the game and i love it but I still go back to watch NL because i have no friends to talk about how good Balatro is. I can understand its not for everyone, but goddamn if a five hour stream of video poker 2.0 LSD edition doesnt wanna make you get polychromed, folied and holographed HARD on the mamaFKN liz's chili oil and I forgot what my point was during this rant.

So many chatters just don’t know how to talk or type to another human being especially one doing a service for them like a streamer. Don’t know if it’s the para social aspect or what but it’s pretty annoying how entitled some chatters seem to be over the control of the streamer. Feedback is fine but the condescending remarks or the lack of self awareness that you’re one chatter in tens of thousands who maybe isn’t sending out an original message or thought. Anyone else feel the same way?

For all we know chatter was just trying to banter and had every intention of thoroughly enjoying the stream. If that's the case it sucks that chatter became a martyr for the genuine problem NL has in his community with ppl not letting him just change his content up and do what he wants.

Am I the only one who just finds Balatro impossible to watch though? I have been an NL viewer a long long time, and the game rates pretty damn low in the all time list for me personally.
I enjoy it every once in a while, and I am extremely happy that he finds enjoyment in the game and can outlet his banter overtop of it. But otherwise I totally agree. Nothing about the game to me says that it could be played at the same frequency of Isaac or SAP.

I feel like if you don’t play balatro you really wouldn’t enjoy these streams, I love watching his balatro vids and I dislike watching his Isaac and sap vids because I don’t play those games so I can’t tell what plays he’s doing, all in all the egg plays what the egg wants and I’m happy watching whatever he feels like doing

I understand its cherrypicked and I also understand NLs perspective here, but it seems he is very easily agitated these days.
