What other childhood gems should we explore next 👀
Pajama Sam thunder and lightning aren’t so frightening!
pajama sam!
Spy Fox, please! And more Putt-Putt.
PAJAMA SAM
My favorite game as a kid was Mystery Case Files The Malgrave Incident for the Nintendo Wii. It is a lot like that one Christmas point and click game.
"Putt Putt travels through time" is easily the best of the franchise, please consider playing it!!
I second this!!
I third this!!! ❤
THAT’S the one I was thinking of!! I coulda sworn there was one with time travel involved! I remember playing it on the computers at the local library!
That was the only one I ever played, it was the absolute best 💜
YES!!! PLEASE
It's fun to imagine Dan going out to clear his driveway of snow with a cup of hot chocolate, and just blinking silently when it doesn't work.
That's how he had to do it after he broke his dad's brand-new snowblower.
It's definitely the Sierra method of problem-solving
"I can't use this here!"
What have we learned today?
- The famous monkey noise is actually a Kookaburra
- the music for PutPut saves the Zoo was produced by the Fat Man
What an Oppenheimer tie-in with the music, I did not expect that!
@@chrislaf I have become rhythm, destroyer of the beats
Um actually I already knew about the kookaburra monkey sound cause I’m Australian 🤓
@@ringodingo4322omg you're australian! just like outback al.
@@ringodingo4322 you see Ross at all?
I like how Dan's immediate solution for solving all of Putt-Putt's (and presumably the world's) problems was to use the hot chocolate.
We could solve a lot of problems with hot chocolate.
That's Sierra/Lucas-Arts logic for ya.
Everyone would be happier if they sat down with some good hot chocolate. Cept maybe those that are allergic.... They get fake chocolate, instead. :)
Get in the chocolate car.
I just wanna say, PLEASE play more of these games. They were a big part of many of the fans’ childhoods as well.
Freddie the FISH!!!
@@triS4R4Htops-mz9foFREDDIE FISH WAS THE SHIT. SHE WAS ME CHILDHOOD. I USED TO PEE MYSELF IN MY OWN CHAIR AS OPPOSED TO USING THE BATHROOM TO CUT DOWN ON TIME WHERE I WASN'T WITH FREDDIE FISH.
NO JOKE
We need Spyfox and Freddie Fish ASAP
Don't forget pajama sam
Seriously, I haven’t thought about these games in like 25 years! Unbelievable nostalgia trip.
Guys, please, PLEASE play Pajama Sam. That shit was so goddamn entertaining back in the day and I want Dan to experience it tbh.
PLEASE PLAY PAJAMA SAM!!!
They need to play “no need to hide when it’s dark outside” that’s the epitome of the childhood games
Babagaboosh!
PAJAMA SAAAAM
I need to see them play the first three games, they're hilarious in retrospect
Arin able to accurately call out a Kookaburra call was really impressive
It’s kind of a famous fun fact that the “monkey noise” used in all kinds of media is actually a kookaburra
@@sharpeningtheaxeUnless you're Australian, where I'm just today learning that people thought this was a monkey noise!
Which is ironic because of how often Arin confidently says something is true when it is in fact false.
@@sharpeningtheaxe and how the "american eagle" noise is actually a hawk :3!
@InkPlume This ^ I'm so used to hearing them in the morning that I keep forgetting that no, most people *arent* familiar with kookaburra sounds
would you guys rather, watch Arin acompleshing nothing for 50 minutes in Zelda
Or beating putt-putt under 30 minutes
The second one at this point. There's only so much non-progress I can watch
Zelda, hands down
Both😂
Zelda for sure
Zelda
Dan trying to talk to catch everyone up while Arin’s ADD completely takes over his brain and makes him click shit constantly while he does an embarrassed giggle while apologizing…. So fucking funny lmao
I'd love to see you guys try out 'Putt-Putt Travels Through Time.' It's a bit more mechanically complicated, and as the name suggests the plot gets pretty crazy.
Right? Putt putt travels through time was the only putt putt I had, and it was The Coolest Thing Ever. I would KILL to see the grumps play that.
I liked when Putt-Putt went back to pre WWI Germany and assassinated Car-Hitler, splitting timelines to create Dark Putt-Putt
That was the first putt putt game I played!
There’s two genres I will always want from you guys, visual novels and cute kids games.
did anyone else's childhood consist of hours of playing Zoo Tycoon? all my friends played Rollercoaster Tycoon, but I was stuck trying to make a five star zoo. the process of finally getting five stars, decorating your zoo to look it's nicest, and then finally getting bored enough to release all the animals and watch your ratings plummet. i remember when the complete collection came out I spent my days at school just WAITING to get back home to play with the dinosaurs and the aquatic animals. what a great time that was.
I loved both of those tycoon games
I grew up on Zoo Tycoon! Played the absolute hell out of it; my zoo wasn’t very optimal since I was a dumb kid and didn’t realize I needed to sell baby animals, so I’d end up with enclosures filled with like, 30+ animals, lol. Besides that though (and totally not caring about planting flowers/trees and making things look extra nice cause why should I worry about that stuff?), I always did really well and knew how to create the perfect enclosure for each animal.
However, when the sequel came out and we bought it, apparently it couldn’t run on our computer for some odd reason. Child me was devastated. Then I grew up, and adult me discovered the art of emulation. It took about 20 years, but I was finally able to play Zoo Tycoon in all of its expanded glory :D
I loved both, but as an animal loving kid zoo tycoon was obviously my favourite. Zoo tycoon 2 was also amazing!
I never played either, but I definitely saw them a lot as a kid. I gotta say Zoo Tycoon seemed cooler.
I loved both, but I think my favorite was Seaworld Tycoon!
“I didn’t know giraffes bleached their assholes” genuinely had me crying 🤣
SAME. XD

ANY Humongous Entertainment game is perfect for gamee grumps! Would love to see Spy Fox on the show at least once!
Yes!! Putt Putt and Spy Fox are staples of my early 2000s (that and Tonka truck games)
Yes I want spy fox 3 especially
Oh my god, spy fox is just the right combination of nostalgic and weird for game grumps
Thank you so much for this blast from the past. Please play more of these games, like Freddi Fish or Pajama Sam. That would be so awesome.
BOOOOOST
Very much agreed.
Backyard Baseball 97 would also be pretty neat.
I'd love if they somehow got PeanutButterGamer or Brutalmoose on Guest Grumps if they ever tackle the other Humongus games
Freddie Fish was one of my favorites.
guys now you HAVE to play putt putt travels through time! PLEASE cause i cannot express how much joy these playthroughs give me :')
I watched SuperMega play that game and it was really cool. I wish I had had these games as a kid, but we were busy playing Diablo and EverQuest 😂
Petitioning for the Grumps to play more PuttPutt games and maybe some Spy Fox too cuz that fox is such a chad
Sadly, they missed my favorite line, if you stick around the hippo dad for a while, eventually he says "Woe sure as heck is me!" And for whatever reason, the rest of my family and I have always found that hilarious, in fact it's still commonly quoted among my siblings to this day.
I love how Arin discovered the optimal strat for the hockey mini game immediately. I remember discovering that as a kid and playing that game for way too long
Oh my god remember playing games as a kid and you didn’t need any rewards or sense of progression?
Now if I get on a game and I don’t log off with more of literally anything than when I logged on I feel like I wasted time. Even if I had fun!
PLEASE PLEASE play some Pajama Sam or Spy Fox if you can in the future, these games were my childhood!
Spy Fox was lit
Spy fox was absolutely my jam growing up
Dan mishearing the kookaburra as a monkey despite being in Australia for like 2 months just makes it very funny to me :3 I was in Aussieland for 4 months when they went in 2019 and it was a daily occurrence aside from hearing all the cockatiels waking me up in the morning
Arin having to reassure Dan that birds are capable of literally mimicking any sound a human can make
Dan commenting on all the voices sounding the same could literally be a comment from any Game Grumps playthrough
As an Australian i love the fact that Danny thought the Kookaburra was a monkey. It's literally the most iconic sounding animal from Australia
14:30
YES! They found the secret area!
I used to go there just to leave the PC on, and listen to the banjo while I played.
I can't believe Putt Putt has a reference to Deliverance.
Yeah, but I was sad they talked through it so Dan didn't pick up on the reference...
seeing arin play this remind me of the time i was obssessed over those educational games like JumpStart 3rd grade as a kid...
You did not just bring up the JumpStart games. I haven't thought about those or the Reader Rabbit games in so long
@@maxcasteel2141 LOL i thought of JumpStart and the old Prince of Persia games that were available at my elementary school at the time Because of this series! i think it'd be funny if the grumps played the JumpStart games with their sense of humor 🤣
Jumpstart was my shit
I remember loving Jump Start 1st grade!
Don't know if the discs work but I still have those games - gonna have to play them again at some point 😆
As someone who grew up playing these games and still has the CD’s I got from the game stores as a kid this is such a nostalgia trip.
I really hope they do Pyjama Sam: Thunder and Lightning and You are What You Eat! Also Putt-Putt Enters the Race!
Holy cow, this unlocked a core memory. I had totally forgotten about this game. Incredible.
I remember so much of this being harder as a kid, especially the rapids part! I wanted to see Arin fall down a whirlpool even by accident 🤣
I wanna see him fall down the whirlpool so it’ll trigger the Freddi Fish cameo cutscene 😂
I'm ashamed at how emotionally invested I got in Arin's hockey match
What was that thing Arin said that one time? What’s the point of coasting through life on “meh”? Something like that. Be proud of your emotional hightening!
Never played any Putt-Putt, but I remember when "Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside" first came out. I'd never played anything like it. Not only was I amazed by all the animations, and how legitimately funny it was, but what really blew my mind was how the game was different each time you played it. Great memories.
Boy have I got good news for you!
@@AgentLane13 I know, I saw!
6:35 Dan says you can't finish King's Quest IV if you eat the fruit. You absolutely can, you get back to Daventry in time to see your dad die of his illness, but it still ends. You'll get a similar scene if you go through the entire Lolotte/Genesta plotline and forget about the fruit.
That’s fucking awful lmao 😂
I couldn’t imagine going through all that and going back to Graham just to be like “Sorry Dad, got a little peckish on my hike.”
Yeah some Sierra games had multiple ways to finish the game. Like how in Black Caludron you can end the game early by just jumping into the cauldron yourself and dying.
@@shwahgamer Or Space Quest II, you can "win" the game by typing "cheat" or "win".
Lee Daniel, most birds can make super complicated seeming complicated noises because their 'lips' are in their throat! They have much different and more complex vocal boxes (their syrinx) than humans that they have a lot of control over. Some can even produce two sounds at once.
Next time on Game Grumps Putt Putt Shall Travel Through Time
I remember this from my childhood so much that I didn't realize it came out in the 90s before I was born, but I happened to have the games and play them a lot still. I'd love to see more!
I played Putt Putt goes to the moon as a kid, so it's fun to see you guys play one!
I am SO upset neither of them noticed the banjo riff from Deliverance at that one calm point in the rapids. It gets quieter and more distant the longer you sit there, when I found it I sat there in complete shock
Between this and harvester. I love that they’re playing more of these point and click games.
You were always a kidder, Putt-Putt.
I would love another Dan only King’s Quest or Gabriel Knight
@@GoetiaTV I know that people weren’t a huge fan of Arin on Space Quest 5 because he’s ADD and impatient as hell and these games can feel slow when you’re in the passenger seat… but his added voice acting and banter with Dan made that playthrough great. I honestly would love if Dan taught Arin about more point and clicks that he missed out on. Sam and Max was great! A double grump King’s Quest would be super fun I think.
It’s wholesome how much they enjoyed this, absolutely cute
I remember playing this as a kid and thinking it was A LOT longer hahaha
Well, to be fair, it was pretty clear Arin had played it many times before, so he knew what to do (mostly). And was able to streamline it.
The Deliverance banjos playing at the dead end in the river is SUCH a dark joke for this light a game
What I loved about these games as a lil kid was when you replay the game, the baby animals are different, or the items you need change per playthrough. I also loved going back to where the missing baby animals parents were add to hear extra dialogue :D
God.. that reminds me.. one Pajama Sam game with the weather I got hard stuck XD
5:41 This would probably be a legitimate solution to this puzzle in a Sierra game, not gonna lie. Definitely would be one in a Discworld point and click game after an hour of shenanigans trying to just get the chocolate itself.
This may not be as well known, but Write, Camera, Action was one of my absolute favorite games as a young child. Basically what you do is you write and direct a movie in the game, and the movie is basically a kid friendly version of a murder mystery. I feel like you two would have an absolute blast playing that one. This comment will most likely be as hidden in the shadows as that somewhat obscure computer game is right now.
I loved playing the Putt-Putt games as I kid and I played Freddi Fish too. At 4:02 as a kid I would click on the parrot and then the tree so an acorn would fall into it's mouth then the parrot would immediately start coughing. I just loved clicking on everything in those games to see what would happen.
I love Putt- Putt! ❤️ Such a fun watch. If Dan and Arin end up playing more of these games, I recommend Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon! I feel like they would spend a whole episode just messing around at the fireworks factory. 🤣
0:37 the mom & dad lions are worried for their missing cub, but that kid's siblings don't seem to care one way or another.
I think those were the mom's sister wives, not the cub's siblings.
Took me 10 minutes to realize this was not going to be a golf game
I think if I remember, clicking the end photos has an extra animation or sound, which makes the seals not blurry I think?
I'm so happy to see this, and that Arin is also that kid who presses All the buttons; I would continuously repaint Putt-Putt.
Remember the specific name I bet, but it'd be great if y'all played the tree house game where an evil magician comes with the circus
I hope to god they play more of these Humongous Entertainment games. Soooo many good memories from those days
15:15 Putt-Putt stole Arin's "Kenya" joke :0
So many flashbacks to painting PuttPutt every available color multiple times
Fun fact: all of the baby animals are actually voiced by different kids that were fans of Humongous Entertainemtn! As I recall, they were all contest winners that were chosen to voice all the baby animals. I can't recall what the contest was, likely writing an essay or something, but it's some neat trivia!
There's something about the looping animations for characters speaking that makes me so nostalgic. Early '90s computer games are such a small slice of the market that I sadly didn't really grow up with.
I am excited for Game Grumps’ Humungous Entertainment Era. Let’s get some Freddie Fish!
man the nostalgia hits hard with this one!
omg please do more of these Humongous Entertainment games games!!! brings back soo much nostalgia
I like that at 7:18 Arin starts to sing and Dan starts to sing with him. They singing voices are sooo good
Humongous Entertainment, ClueFinders, JumpStart Adventures (especially Mystery Mountain) ruled my childhood 😅. I'd love to see any of their games get played
Please, oh please do more Putt-Putt games! Childhood memories unlocked!
Arin’s inability to keep on time with the grump’s most recent rendition of Rapper’s Delight was HILARIOUS
As an australian, I love that Arin knows the kookaburra = jungle noise trivia, but also simultaneously die a little inside when I American's pronounce Kookaburra like that
Can't wait for the less known Putt Putt Saves the Dog Trapped in the Car
Considering cars are people in the Putt-Puttverse, I can only imagine that this title means that Putt-Putt cuts a dog out of the carcass of another person.
@resileaf9501 Lmao, that's grim. Makes it sound like a campy, cheesy plot to creepy pasta or horror game of a beloved cartoon character turning out to be a killer
Birds have special voice boxes that allow them to produce sounds that we need lips to make.
God I would love for the boys to play The Mummy Mystery and see whether or not Arin just randomly flips out during puzzles
Putt Putt Travels Through Time is the Empire Strikes Back of Putt Putt games
This makes me truly realize how high tier the magic school bus and Tonka computer games were
Oh my God Tonka games were the shit
@@amelianyquist1215 u better believe 8yo me was building the fuck out of that medieval castle in the middle of a giant city
@ampeater777 haha don't think I ever did that, I think we had the ones where you rescue ducks in a park or something. We had one where you clean the fire dept vehicles too lol
Thank you so much for playing this, it really helped me find this very specific childhood point and click game that I could not for the life of me figure out the name of, and then that led to finding more point and click games from my childhood!!
The game in question is Fisher-Price's Big Action Garage, it's actually kinda similar to Putt-Putt because they both have a talking car as the protagonist, but Big Action Garage is a bit darker. I also would love it if you played the other childhood games, such as:
Fisher-Price's Pet Shop
Bailey's Book House
Zoombinis
The Busy World of Richard Scarry: The Best Reading Program Ever
Some of these games are very short, so they might be best as either a one-off, or even two games in one episode!
Pleeeease play Pajama Sam No need to hide when it’s dark outside 😩😩
I wouldn't mind more old school point and click games. They're nostalgic, relaxing, and provide a surprisingly large amount to laugh at.
Ok now it's time for putt putt travels through tiiiime
10:34
Just the ice cracks, **BLOOOP!** and he just floats belly up after a good 15 minutes
4:02
I wish Arin figured out you can make that bird choke on a walnut by combining two interactive clicks. I bet he would have found that hilarious.
Imagine drinking the hot cocoa and getting hit with a "With the hot cocoa consumed, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created."
The noise Dan is thinking of is likely a howler monkey, which the kookaburra in that video is impersonating.
Kookaburras are also known to impersonate chainsaws, they're quite versatile with their syrinx.
There aren’t any monkeys in Australia, that’s just the noise Kookaburras make
@@beastofthevoid there is in New Guinea though, which is also a territory of the kookaburra
regardless, they both make similar sounds but the one in that game sounded more like a howler than a kook to me
@@safebox36 Howler Monkeys are South American. And I’ve heard kookaburras make the game noise many times
Oh my gosh im so happy Arin played this! This was a huge part of my childhood. Id love to see you guys play more PuttPutt games, specifically hoping for the circus one
I used to really like these types of ges as a kid, it would be a nice idea if Aaron Danny and Ross made a game like this, imagine leisure suit Danny
One of my favorite things to do in this game growing up was taking sad pictures of the parents and kids before they were rescued
The aesthetics of them painting putt putt blue and then go to articland makes my brain tingle.
I remember my own Kookaburra realization moment after thinking it was a monkey myself. Glad to hear Dan is finally based and Kookaburrapilled
Puttputt is my spirit animal when they zoom away from the distressed parents
You guys need to play at least one of each of Spy Fox, Pajama Sam, and Freddi Fish! These games were my childhood and it's so fun to watch you play them!
Please play more old school point and clicks like this. I'd love to see another Sam and Max game played on the channel.
This game was a huge part of my childhood, thank you for playing it! I'd love to see y'all play the other Putt Putt games
Fatty the Bear @19:55 :P
there was also Freddie fish in the shrubbery song
For real, watching y'all play point and click adventure games is just so much fun to watch. Would love for more of these!
I can't help but get flashbacks to Arin, Ross, and Barry playing Freddi Fish watching Arin and Dan play this game...
...Also, please continue Pizza Tower.
Hey Dan, the reason Laughing kookaburra can do those amazing sounds is a special vocal organ called the tracheo-bronchial syrinx, which creates two sources of vibrations so it can produce two frequencies at the same time with multiple harmonics.
Ive never caught a new episode so quickly
Later Humongous games like Spy Fox and Pajama Sam, which have a similar "find these characters/objects" plots, actually randomize the locations at the start of every time giving you multiple different puzzles/scenes on different playthroughs
Please more HE games, please. I haven't tuned into game grumps for a while now but these were my childhood.
I will take ALL of your Putt-Putt content!! And Pajama Sam, I feel like Danny will vibe with that
I love how even in this colorful children's game, Arin can't hold an attention span for 5 seconds. The urge to click dumb shit is too strong!
Clicking everything is an important part of playing these games! Gotta see all the silly animations and whatnot
Please play Pajama Sam too. No need to hide when its dark outside was my childhood. also putt putt travels through time (the jingle for that is etched in my head forever)
Use me as a “Please complete the rest
of the series Putt-Putt series” button
In the area where Putt Putt can get painted, if you click the parrot, and then immediately click the branch above him before he stops yawning, another bird will appear and drop an acorn in his beak, making him choke on it and spit it out.
Wow it's cool how in the photos during the credits, it keeps whatever color you painted Putt-Putt
The 'lil waves that the penguin pushing the icebergs does when he gets cheered 😍
These games have so much charm. MORE!
