Correct me if I'm wrong but since the soundtrack is named "Blank Shell", I wouldn't be surprised if this song is supposed to capture the feeling of shooting yourself with a blank shell. It starts off menacingly as it gradually builds up, like your building up the courage to press the trigger, but the song quickly shifts to a much more calming yet melancholic feel, like after you've pulled the trigger, you're relieved but it's not entirely soothing because this relief won't last long.

I was sitting at a skatepark near baseball fields and the sun was setting, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. My whole body was yellow and the world was orange and glorious. And my shadow cast behind me. That's when the end played and something about this part just sunk in for me.

This song makes me think im in a dark and closed space with a little light at the end, giving me hope there is an end to this hell, but the abyse is too big making the light too far so it makes me think there is no hope until I reach the soothing end
