A wild horse documentary about two horse trainers competing in the 2018 Extreme Mustang Makeover in Fort Worth, Texas. Come follow their 100 day journey.
Enjoyed the video. There are people who just talk a good game, then there are people who actually play a good game and win. Both wife and husband are winners. Thank you both for what you do. Also, you both do what most people can’t .... GREAT JOB :)
How zit guys! Much mahalos for your movie I love and miss the life you are living, I'm a cowboy from Maui who lives in Seattle now. you wahini are badass with horses! Thanks for bringing my best memories of life back! I know I've lived a blessed life ! mahalo and aloha!! And have a blessed life!!!! kani kapila !!! The missing Maui man Sean Andrade !
Sam and Luke, that was the best hour and a half I have spent. Loved how you all put this together. we got to follow you through this adventure. And while I didn't get to see all of the competition, I was shocked you didn't make the top 10. Unbelievable what you accomplished in 100 days and I find it hard to believe that there were more than 10 better. Anyway, loved the video. And got to see a love story too boot!! Congrats to you both and hope we get to see another story.
Amazing horses and horsewomenship! Additionally, hats off to you and and your husband for working with mustangs and loving what you do everyday! Wonderful! Texas is my home and I’ve been riding horses since a young boy. I joined the Army while in high school and chose a career as a soldier. Everywhere I was stationed I rodeoed with friends and found myself meeting someone who trained horses locally and I’d offer to help them when I wasn’t off training or deployed. So for for more than twenty years I helped western pleasure, reining and cutting horse trainers for the knowledge they’d share, never for pay. And loved every minute of it! So after watching your video on adopting wild mustangs, that’s something I’ve never give thought until today! So thank you again for sharing your story! Respectfully, Jim
Love your video, great job with the horses, coincidence Im watching this the day after getting back from Sand Wash Basin , photographing the mustangs there, looking forward to more videos, your neighbor from Morrison Co 😊

Thank you for watching!! It is remarkable how different each mustang can be. To this day...Chip is a rockstar! He loves his domestic life and anyone can ride him. Ransom is loving life up in the mountains on a big green pasture!
Get up, feed the cats, fresh French roast coffee, accompanied by 1-1/2 hours of Sam & Luke and some mustangs. I appreciate your passion for what you two do Sam & Luke. Thanxxx, Rex
Fun fact, you don’t actually have to force to horse to gentle with ropes. You can use body language and let the horse approach you when it feels comfortable with the language and the commands your directing. Run it, relieve pressure by backing off, let the horse come to you. You’re trying to develop a relationship, not make the horse think it doesn’t have any other options. You want the horse to WANT to be with you.
Exactly, when I saw Sam really tugging the rope to get Ransom to face him or change direction I kind of cringed. I’m thinking you’re wanting this horse to trust you. You make the decision to face you and change direction his idea or at least a shared decision. Taking the decision away can cause confusion and mistrust.
Thanks for making this film. So nice and easy when you don't have to hunt for more episodes and we get to see what happens at the conclusion including the auction.
@@dorothyread2908 I appreciate your opinion. I would like to point out that these are wild animals and can hurt someone in the beginning. For a 100 day competition these Mustangs are pushed more to learn than typical horse training. With their tremendous strength their trainers had to get control of them. Very quickly they came around to the halters and the jerking stopped. Thank you for watching. Have a great day.
I have been working dogs and horses all my life. Took me forever to realize that the good ones are born good and keep getting better and the bad ones can only get so good. If they are problematic when they are young , they will one day be old and problematic.
Great video. Sam is a great trainer done with compassion and the love of horses. It’s amazing what she achieved with a wild mustang. She did it by getting the horse to trust her . I like how she said I’m going to move his feet . Reminds me of Buck on how he trains horses .
Excellent job on your horse. I've always thought the mustangs were well worth saving. After all they are apart of the old west and as much American as anything!!

We are so happy you enjoyed the film. There is so much truth to be told regarding these beautiful creatures. It isn't always pretty but the outcome sure is! Both Ransom and Chip are happy horses!

Do ya'll happen to know any youngsters that would like to come to Costa Rica and play with my young herd? I have a lot of space and some really nice stock bred, born, and raised for heart. Could be a win/win for a couple of adventurers! I'm an old lady and my body doesn't respond like it used to. And as much as this country loves horses, precious few know anything at all about natural horsemanship.

You two are really amazing horse that are really amazing a girl your horse is gorgeous but it would have kind of been nice to maybe see a little bit of the competition I mean just a little was it because they already have it filmed or what. Just wondering?
Danielle Stokely I ran out of room. The movie got to be so long already and I didn’t have the other contestants permission to film them and put them in the movie. You should be able to find plenty of 2018 EMM videos in the search. It was the Ft. Worth Texas Makeover
Four years on, how is ge doing? I was impressed at what San accomplished in such a short time. Comparing Ransom with Coco just shows that some wild horses are are just meant to be free. But hats off to you guys for caring.
Greetings from Iraq (the Rafidain Valley) to the friends trained for ground imagination, for their self-confident in raising horses from point 0 to step 10, in a maximum of 30 days --
Love the videos but the music is extremely loud in comparison to the voices, making me have to adjust the volume continuously and significantly. Could you please try and lower it a little, so people like myself who are affected by it can enjoy the videos more? Much appreciated! Cheers
Thank you for your input. This was the very first “movie” I made and was learning along the way. The sound was such a big challenge for me! Now I know better and totally get annoyed with TV shows that do the same thing. I am now doing voice over on my newest videos. So you will see improvements I hope. 🤠
@john wilson I am 71 years old, I was raised on a Ranch, and still today own several. John, there are those who are aggressive with their animals, some very aggressive! There are also those who "Speak the language", who never need to be aggressive, harm, scare, or force the animal. The horse is an animal that only wants to please, and is naturally attracted to humans with proper treatment. It's is a crime to treat them any other way. If you are truly interested, GOOGLE "MONTE ROBERTS" and you will smile, and understand what I am talking about. He is a true "Horse Whisperer"! Be well, stay safe, and be kind and gentle with the animal.
Sam just came back from winning first place in yet another mustang competition, 3 buckles, fan favorite and lots of cash! She must be doing something right! Is she perfect….no, but she knows her stuff.
This is the way that most mustangs are handled. You just can’t walk up to a mustang out of the wild and put a halter on them! They are untouched by humans. The horses are rounded up with helecoptors and scared to death of everything done to them! Usually at the gathering pens they will drive the horses into shuts and place a halter and a lead rope on them! I have seen the mustangs at the BLM corrals above Reno Nevada! Hundreds of them that will never be returned to the wild. When the horse is picked out and adopted BLM personal will put the horse in shuts, put the halter and lead rope that you supply and than help you load the horse in your trailer! If you think you could do a better job than this lady, Sam is doing, put your money where you mouth is and adopt a mustang. I have never trained a mustang because I am used to training and showing registered horses of various breeds! Plus my breed that I have been involved with is one of the easiest breeds to train, so after sixty years with that breed I don’t ride anymore but hook and drive to carts still! Plus still breed my stallion to my foundation mares!
Outstanding video ! I sat here really nervous during the competition. I wish I could have heard what was being said at the very end when you all were standing together . Is there some way that I can find out how you did overall in the competition . There must be some unbelievable trainers out there . To think these horses were almost turned away from . It makes me wonder how many horses that had potential , never had a chance to live . Staggering ........ it opened my eyes ... and I have already contacted three (3) rescue centers here in Illinois . Thank You Very Much !
paul fleming Thanks for watching! Sam and Luke are my friends and I made the movie about them. At the end they were thanking everyone who helped them and explaining how the auction went and how they had to buy Chip back during it for $3700, it was a public auction and if the trainers want to keep their mustangs they must fairly bid on them against the public. Sam and Chip tied for 12th place. Barely missing the top ten last year. HOWEVER....they are both in Texas right now with new Mustangs and Sam made the top ten yesterday and will compete tonight in a freestyle at 6 PM Texas time. You can watch a live feed of it through the Facebook group called Extreme Mustang Makeover, Ft. Worth. Luke showed this year and ended up placing 16th out of 51 trainers. So go watch Sam and Pumbaa tonight! I’m telling you the top ten trainers competing tonight are ALL amazing to watch! Very very talented!!
I really enjoyed watching this except for having to constantly turn it up when Sam was speaking and turn it down when the awful track music played way too loud for no reason
I loved your video and the love and work story, what a good job you did with poker chip. I would like to ask you why the mustangs when they are adopted are furry with flecks, and then they are seen with the smooth and shiny hair?
Freddy Torres they arrive early Spring with winter coats and the competition is early September with summer coats. I’m not sure I fully understand your question?
@@ThePhotogirl67 yes, you solved my question. I understand that it is due to the weather and that is why the coat looks different. I thought it was due to food and care in the 100 days of dressage. right now i'm watching some of your videos. what a good job you do with the horses.
Wow, I feel that it's the best practices for horses program at all. I haven't ever seen before a full program. It's a hard time with built attitude about horses vs human being. I feel other things that it's freedom or wildlife .
I have loved Horses all my life and had a great time with some wild horses on the beach where 3 wild horses came up to me and I pet them and took pictures people where video taping me petting them and said I not suppose to pet them it's a 100.00 Fine .I told them well they have to fine me then because if they Come up to me to pet them then that what I was going to do.Andbhere come more horse's waning to be live. It was the greatest think I ever experienced in my hole life. I would Love 💕 to adopted one one day.😍
I've never broke or trained a wild mustang.... But if I WAS picking a horse to break, ESP for a 100 day contest, NO. Just AT ALL, I wouldn't pick one with a HUMONGOUS scar! No matter how gorgeous. Nothing alive can get a scar of that size & depth without it being a traumatic incident that has scarred them mental or emotionally. I'm at 41:00 but I'm gonna bet even after he breaks this horse, and he is able to ride him, I believe he will have issues later on. Even if it's much later. Whatever caused that scar, without you knowing what.. you just can never help him heal from it without knowing. I hope you think to introduce a variety of dogs Incase it was an animal attack to help reduce his chance at reacting if one surprise him at barks at him & Good Luck!
I fell so in love with Ransom at the BLM. I told Luke to bid on him. I’m sure it was an animal attack in the wild. What else could it be? We are thinking a mountain lion. Even though Ransom didn’t make it to the show there was some positive to it all. He is out of the BLM and off tax payers $$$ of $50,000 per horse for their life to live there. There are about 75k in holding facilities. And Ransom moved on to a new home better fitted for him and the lifestyle he needed. He lives in the mountains and has a nice pasture. They trail ride with him. He’s never hurt anyone again. He just needed to slow his training waaaayyyyyy down which is what he received. Thank you for watching! I appreciate it.
@@ThePhotogirl67 that sounds like a real great place for him. I'm sure his MUCH HAPPIER than at the BLM!! I'm glad you guys used a variety of people in the hard work it took to get him to understand.... We're all on his side! Great work on Chip as well!
I just watched a movie "Unbranded" AMAZING & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FILM OF MEN RIDING MUSTANGS FROM MEXICO TO CANADA! The one horse loses his footing & tumbles down a rocky mountainside. Seeing the damage, I could imagine a jagged rock could easily have cut him wide open. My first thought was Random.
i just watched this video and i know it is a while ago now but i wonder what happened to ransom i would hope he had a great life the scars he bore were horrific and he deserved a great life after

The bay is the most beautiful natural mover!
super very beautiful I like your video
Love the videos but the music is extremely loud in comparison to the voices, making me have to adjust the volume continuously and significantly. Could you please try and lower it a little, so people like myself who are affected by it can enjoy the videos more?
Much appreciated!
Cheers
Thank you for your input. This was the very first “movie” I made and was learning along the way. The sound was such a big challenge for me! Now I know better and totally get annoyed with TV shows that do the same thing. I am now doing voice over on my newest videos. So you will see improvements I hope. 🤠
What skilful handlers of those magnificent horses.. How. I envy you!
glad Randsom found his place, nice story
donna jackson Thanks! He is doing well last I heard.
Great video! That Cimmaron seems to be a top hand too!
I have two Mustang mares and there spoiledwith love in Oregon
I'm impressed Keith Urban allowed you to use his music in this, that must have been expensive.

They are amateurs, and don't know what they are doing. Neither do you..
@john wilson Yes, ;-)
@john wilson Yes it does. ;-)
@john wilson It is a lifestyle, not my job, and yes, I know scores of people who train.
Congratulations on your Marriage ,Always be faithful and true !!!👩❤️👨
TRUST IS EVERYTHING AS YOU SEEM TO UNDERSTAND 🐴
thanks for posting this! shows everyone exactly what not to do!
Excuse? I love this!! This is how to train a mustang!

Can horse go reverse right or reverse left?
Or would horse go reverse only in straight line?
Big green pastures I'm teaching them there teaching me best 🐎🐎👍
Love your video
Pretty cool to see Ransom enjoy a roll in the 💦 water
Such a bad gash on his hip!
That is so sweet
I really enjoyed watching this except for having to constantly turn it up when Sam was speaking and turn it down when the awful track music played way too loud for no reason
Haha your definition of enjoyment...
AGREE! The editor slacked on the sound & only focused on the visuals!
Wow,
I feel that it's the best practices for horses program at all. I haven't ever seen before a full program. It's a hard time with built attitude about horses vs human being. I feel other things that it's freedom or wildlife .
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I want one

I have loved Horses all my life and had a great time with some wild horses on the beach where 3 wild horses came up to me and I pet them and took pictures people where video taping me petting them and said I not suppose to pet them it's a 100.00 Fine .I told them well they have to fine me then because if they Come up to me to pet them then that what I was going to do.Andbhere come more horse's waning to be live. It was the greatest think I ever experienced in my hole life. I would Love 💕 to adopted one one day.😍
Is it legal to export these magnificent creatures to other countries if someone is interested in adopting
that saddle went for a ride
Ive been watching tons of these Mustang makeover videos and have seen Mustangs gentled WAY gentler than that.
I hope you think to introduce a variety of dogs Incase it was an animal attack to help reduce his chance at reacting if one surprise him at barks at him
& Good Luck!
I say it's from a mountain Lion...JMO
I just watched a movie "Unbranded" AMAZING & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FILM OF MEN RIDING MUSTANGS FROM MEXICO TO CANADA!
The one horse loses his footing & tumbles down a rocky mountainside. Seeing the damage, I could imagine a jagged rock could easily have cut him wide open. My first thought was Random.
@@adibarr8996 I think I’ve watched that one!
i just watched this video and i know it is a while ago now but i wonder what happened to ransom i would hope he had a great life the scars he bore were horrific and he deserved a great life after
wizbot Thanks for watching! Last I heard he was living in the mountains in Northern Colorado. Sounded like a great home.
@@ThePhotogirl67 thanks for the quick response wife is happy now
Blaze would be a good name for him.
Her violence, and snapping the rope and jerking the horse is a big mistake. She is a fool...
I like it
If she can do this with a Mustang, I can't imagine what she could do with a well bred and gentle two year old Quarte Horse.
She trains them too. She owns 2 Mustangs, a couple babies and several quarter horses. She mainly owns QH. She is awesome with them all!
What a beautiful thing for them to do so these wild horses can be saved and put into a new home.
