This music is a masterpiece. Thank you Sean Callery.
I love the show. Rewatched first two seasons recently just because I wanted to see a masterpiece. The music is haunting. Absolutely love it.
Same here.
Most MINDBLOWING drama series ever.
This so different, so beautiful. I loved EVERYTHING about the series Homeland. Was never that immersed in any drama EVER.
HOMELAND ❤
Can’t get enough of this theme song. I go into another world fantasizing about Quinn. Gorgeous inside and out.
@@chrysakik I was mesmerized by this series. I never wanted to be an actor ever UNTIL this series. I would have played a part for free just to be a part of this ensemble.
@@chrysakik It is unbelievable to me though how few ppl watched Homeland. When I was working no one watched it but me. I didn’t get it. Probably bc too much truth about world politics and they didn’t want to know. Homeland was very deep and relevant to today. I’ll be rewatching also. Take care.
This trumpet player is absolutely amazing.
This is brilliant. Serious ... brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing. Made my morning.
i love sean callery!
masterpiece!
I love this music so much every time I listen to it it transports to another place like a journey I would love to be on! Thanks for the introduction Homeland. Can’t get enough
Scharrian Walker. Same. Can’t get enough of anything Homeland. The best dramatic series EVER.
Super
i 💓💗this
What is the significance of Carrie Mathison always listening to jazz music in Homeland (TV Series)?
In the opening credits a young girl is seen playing a trumpet, assuming this is Carrie, and assuming she is playing jazz, she must be very intelligent. Jazz and the jazz musician supply an ideal metaphor for the rapid flow of esoteric thought, and acute mental activity seen in Claire Danes’ masterful portrayal of Carrie. In addition to the swamp full of doubtful, unimpressed or unresponsive listeners, together make for one enticing drama.
In the original concept of the show, the different types of jazz that Saul and Carrie enjoy were supposed to become a symbol of their different methods of intelligence work: Carrie loves the chaotic Thelonious Monk; while Saul prefers the smoother, calmer John Coltrane.
That's why there's the Louis Armstrong bit in the opening montage, and the two of them talk about it once or twice early in the first season.
As things changed during the actual writing of Season 1, that particular bit of character development got lost in the shuffle.
I believe Jazz expalins Carrie's behavrioul disorder/mental state ... She Loves Jazz which in really contemporary and most importantly as Jazz music flows ups and down so does Carrie's mental state... She even co-relate Jazz with the movements of Brody's finger when he is on camera which either writer's semingly introduced to create confusion for Audiances however it also shows that Jazz is also over her mind ... flowing yet saddistic ksksks
@Hanzo. Carrie is also bipolar which lends itself to her added complexity of personality.

Wow, very interesting insights here. I didn't know that about Coltrane and Thelonius monk because I dont really listen to jazz, but I wish I had so I would've gotten that detail before. Another detail that I remember about Saul was when he played Rachmaninoff's first concerto really loudly so his voice wouldn't be picked up by a microphone or something (i think in season 5, the one with Eowyn from lotr). I always wondered if that was intentional, that the writers meant to convey that saul is the kind of guy to also enjoy early Rachmaninoff lol. Then again it did happen in a much later season of the show, after a point which feels (at least to me) like the characters have less substance than their earlier versions in the show (basically after the brody saga).
Fantastic!!!
Amazing!
Super! Very touching!
B r e a t h t a k i n g. Like the show
