Women usually don’t approach guys they put themselves in situations or areas where the guy is in so He can approach. Women hate rejection but I could be wrong .
It's not even in the female nature to approach a man, it's always a man's job to approach, women see themselves as the prize and they won't break this rule except for men with high social status like for famous athletes and rappers

Approaching is more subtle. Girls coming to you to ask about simple stuff, or other questions.
They usually use indirect methods, but basically if they come up to you, and don’t have a good enough other reason why they did, as a stranger. Then most likely she was tryna close in on you.
