Infant nanny here. Used to be a CPST for 10 years but things change some. Nanny baby has a Nuna and I just realised had the euro option. This is one of the best videos I used to figure it out best. It does seem to take a little more muscle and stretch to get around lol. But all good. Glad to know she is safe
I'm glad you found the video helpful!
Thank you very much for this video
Thanks for watching it!
This video was a God send for me this morning. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I watched this video to learn how to do it and then needed to again today and forgot how. So I came back to this video. Thank you!
glad it was easy to reference for you!
With the Graco infant car seat they say you can do the European way, but i don't see a designated route per se. Is there and I'm just not understanding the manual? It does have a plastic that stands out and i put it over that.
There's no designated guide for the shoulder belt on the Graco seats. It just goes underneath the base release mechanism as shown in the picture in the manual.
I was hoping you had a video on this. One of the clips that goes into the base got damaged in storage and I really don’t want to buy a whole new car seat. Graco told me I could still use it without the base.
Installing without the base isn't bad at all once you practice it a few times!
This video may have just saved me a potential major problem. I’ve had a car seat (Maxi Cosi) for almost four years that we used for our first born. We didn’t buy a base back then because he was born during hard lockdown and we didn’t go anywhere except to his doctor for checkups, of which I always went with my partner so either of us used to ‘carry’ the car seat. Now I’m about to have our second baby and guess what? No bases available anymore for this model car seat because it was discontinued! Now we’re in a crisis! Until I started Googling around what to do and there was your video 🙌🏾. Thank you so much for sharing it.
yay! so glad you found your way here!
Very helpful. Gonna see if my carseat has the European option
Thanks for watching!
Can I install an infant car seat in the middle with a latch plate, if the seat belt doesn’t lock?
You need to use the seat belt in the middle seat in almost all cases. If your vehicle is made after 1996, the middle seat belt does lock in some way. Check the vehicle owner's manual for how to do it.
Can a locking clip be used with the European routing?
Possibly, but some manufacturers don't allow it is something I was recently told. So check with the manufacturer or your car seat.
see some people put the strap on the back of the carseat, which way is the proper way?
That's the European belt path routing, she shows that and the American routing in the video. Both are proper but she prefers the European routing.
There are 2 methods. Some car seats only allow the standard seat belt routing where you do not wrap the shoulder belt, so check the car seat manual first. But if the car seat allows both, the European belt routing is preferred.
Great video! Thank you for the effort!
Thanks for watching!
Can you damage the plastic by putting too much bodyweight on the seat at all?
It's possible if you used all of your body weight. There is no need to use much of your weight at all when installing the seat.
Thank you 🙏🏽
You're welcome!
