I agree. Looks like you had a sticking or “ leaking “ Injector at some point. I’d see if you can find a shop to test the injectors. Also I’d go ahead and replace the o ring for the dip stick where it goes into the oil pan. They leak commonly and are a pain to change when the motor is in the truck.

For what it’s worth I think your right on. Been running and working on big equipment for 16 years. I was going to say the same thing you said haha. I’d definitely do the lifter on 7 and I’d do the valve guide seal valve etc . Probably lifer was t pumping up fast enough. Good luck love you videos 😎😎 PS I’d also check the oil passageways on the head block etc for that lifter on 7.

Do yourself a favor. Get rid of them PMRs. Get some crower rods. Welded oil squirters as well.
If you dont know. Look at Riff Raff diesel for OEM parts.

LS George works for cleetus McFarland and in this video he mentioned either pull in the cab or else the transmission to get the motor out. May want to drop that transmission. Just sayin.

The heads will be the most expensive machine shop part. I paid 1100 for my heads to be reworked and took 2 sets of heads to the machine shop. SBI has a complete package of seats guides and valves that will let the heads last a million.
Get the rods rebushed, bushings are cheap and the rod on the washed hole especially.
    Tig weld piston cooling jets.
The Ford complete overhaul kit is a good one, comes with new oil cooler.
Ive been down this road a few times.

I know about as much of the internal workings of an engine as Biden does running a successful presidency. I never heard of a 7.3 having any issues. We got a 02 and all I ever done to it was replace the alternator. It’s funny how 20 years ago all you ever heard was put on a cold ram air filter and now mechanics are saying throw them away. Glad I never went that route now.

I know a couple people that swear by Archoil AR9100 oil additive for these 7.3 fords. It prevents the stiction issue with those injectors.
They also love Well Worth Injector Pro Clean for all diesel engines.

Looks like you might of had some floating lifters also, some of the reason for the mushrooming of the rocker arm. Be sure to check your push rods for straitness also. I would just replace all the lifters.

That’s weird for the rocker and valve tip to do that. Usually when lifters are the cause they’re beat up pretty good. I wonder if something got in there and got between the rocker and valve. I could be way off here but that’s just an observation. Looks like a pretty nice truck though. Glad to see you putting videos out sir!
