Thank you for this podcast. My laminectomy and microdiscectomy is in 4 days and listening to these folks talk is very helpful. The Ultimate Prep Guide was great and I did get several of the "necessary items" for post surgery. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this podcast, please keep it up! It has been really helpful to avoid spiraling down... it's crazy to me hearing some of the stories and learning that it takes so long to get an MRI in the US! We are lucky in that sense in Spain, you could get one any day you like, red flags or not. Thanks!!
It's crazy the difference in what is considered a red flag in other places! I have had numbness in my legs for almost a year and ive been struggling to walk for about 3 months and in the UK I'm not considered to be showing red flags unless i start experiencing incontinence 😢 Still, only 7 days to wait until my operation, finally! 🎉
@@dillindaniel3905 sad to report that unfortunately the day after this comment my surgeon had to cancel my surgery and reschedule due to a family emergency and so I'm still waiting and in pain :(
Here in Germany the doctor prescribes ambulant rehabilitation for 3 weeks- they pick you up and you go for some hours to train and get your back strengthened!
A tens unit is an electric simulation device that goes on the skin. It send impulses that stimulate the muscles. It helps to relax the muscles and take pain away.
Ok no one has mentioned that here- That sounds like a help -do you have a link to buy it? I am still having bad sciatic pain 3 weeks post OP- how long do these pains stay?
@@judyrafatthere is a link in the description under “recommended products for surgery.” Some people take anywhere between 6 months to a year to feel better. Others almost immediately. I was a 6 monther.
