    I’m 35 years old. I remember being in school and hearing about it and it’s haunted me since. I still come back and see what other wrestlers have to say about it. It still haunts me and I was involved in no way. I can’t imagine how it haunts people that actually knew him. Especially when I hear “Owen was lack luster and the fans didn’t really respect him”
    Well fuck me, I had his action figure before his death and I respected him. I miss him greatly and I’m just a guy. I can’t imagine how greatly he’s missed by his friends and family.

    Owens Widow gets a bad rap for not allowing the WWE to put him into the Hall of Fame but I recommend anyone who feels somewhat salty towards her so watch the dark side of the Ring this is the first time I've ever seen her interviewed about the death of her husband Owen and her speak on this issue if you're one of those people that thinks she should let the WWE put him in the Hall of Fame and if you're truly on that side of the fence I guarantee it after you watch her interview if you don't cross over to the other side and totally agree with her you'll at least be on the fence because I used to feel she should allow him to go in the Hall of Fame but now that I've seen the Owen Hart dark side of the Ring I'm on her side and I completely agree with her this will also make you look at the Hart family in a different way I mean you'll start giving them the side eye including Bret Hart and possibly even Natalia if you're a fan of hers

    Here's a question. Does anyone think that if Owen had not died he would not have quite the legendary status he seems to have today. When he was alive he was always Bret Hart's brother, who was an excellent wrestler but still the scrappy younger brother who was in such tag teams as High Energy. After his death he became canonised and a legend. Anyone else think that it was his death which makes people speak about him in more glowing terms then they would if he was still alive?

    • @germandelatorre6102
      @germandelatorre6102 2 года назад

      That's a good question. My opinion is if he was still alive he would've moved to the last few years of WCW and would've been the main star there. He would've feuded with Jeff Jarrett or DDP for the WCW heavyweight title. He would be champ for a couple months and would drop it to Booker T. Come back to WWF after they bought out the company. They'd bury him because of Austin and Angle being top face/heel. Would've been independent for a couple years. Jarrett would later convince him to TNA and would start his new stardom there. From there I can see WWE wanting him to make surprise visits once and a while for his talent both in ring and on the mic. So to answer your question...... Who knows? It seems like he might have. But a lot of factors could've been different if he was still alive.

    • @chrishinton9209
      @chrishinton9209 2 года назад

      Think about who was coming into the WWF at the time. Imagine the matches Owen would’ve had with Angle, Jericho, Benoit, Malenko, Eddie, etc. Owen could’ve easily done Kurt Angle’s gimmick. I’m not talking about the American patriot part of the character. But Owen would’ve killed it as the heel parody of the white meat baby face.

    I'll say this, in my opinion, Owen was better than Bret. No two ways about it. He was engaging, he was technically as good and he was far better on the mic than Bret. He was a giver too. You can tell by the matches he has with Davey Boy as his partner and also as an opponent. The best Match I saw was a match in Germany between Owen and Davey Boy for the intercontinental Belt. It was a match that had everything. They produced a match that was give and take from both. Chemistry, artistry and story-telling. It did not contain the tired, old, well worn, over used someone getting beat down only to rise from the ashes unscathed and suddenly beat the other to win. They were on par with each other throughout and you literally could not say who would win.
    I'll also say this about Bret Hart. I have a house show on DVD of an hour long match between Bret Hart & Owen; it was just before their Wrestlemania match. Owen kept everyone engaged. He was coming off the top rope engaging the crowd and the Ref, Earl Hebner. He was basically allowed to do whatever he wanted and he kept the match going. Bret did the same old thing, auto piloted the match putting in the same moves he always did etc etc etc. Then came the match between Bret & Owen at Wrestlemania and in comparison I can only assume Bret neutered Owen; this match was nowhere near as engaging. Oh and when Bret says about how insulted he was when Shawn told Earl to get Bret to leave after winning the belt? Well Bret did the same to Owen. At the end of the Wrestlemania match Bret mouths to Earl to get Owen out of the ring. Owen won the match so it should have been his time in the ring at the end, but instead he was scurried out by Earl only to have the shots of Bret sitting in the ring in defeat. Since Bret, and his Marks, like to think of him as being the best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be, I'd say Bret is the most overrated Wrestler that's ever entered a wrestling ring, because he never was and never will be

      @@Della624 the most overrated wrestler in the history of wrestling is Hulk Hogan

    • @Della624
      @Della624 3 года назад +1

      @@donny9078 Hulk Hogan wasn't bad when he went to Japan because they asked more of him than the American Audience. Was he as good a wrestler as Bret? No, but then Hulk Hogan has never claimed to be. What he has claimed to be and does have a right to claim, is that for a couple of decades he was the biggest draw that the WWF/WWE ever had. I have every match of Bret Hart's, and many, many House Shows (of which many were abysmal because he just phoned them in) and the only time he changed things was when he was against an opponent that would outshine him if he didn't do something different, other than that it was the same old tired god-forsaken storyline of him being beaten down and then rising from the ashes as if nothing had happened, ending with him either applying the sharpshooter or a roll-up.
      Bret Hart was a good wrestler but he was nowhere near as exceptional as his Marks desperately push him to be. For someone to claim and truly believe they are the best there was and the best there ever will be has to be the most overrated Wrestler ever to have stepped into the ring. Owen was far superior in the ring than Bret when he was allowed to be, such as the match between him and Davey Boy, or the House Show where Bret just wanted to phone it in enabling Owen to steal the match and the show with his performance in ring and outside of it. Bret was sh*t on the Mic. The only reason his Mic work improved during the attitude era is because he was being himself, a moaning, peurile b*tching b*tch who acted as if the world was against him just because McMahon was prepared to pass the torch to Michaels (a wrestler in his prime) instead of continuing on with an old hand on the verge of retirement. Remember Bret was 40 years of age and Michaels was 32.
      You can keep throwing around the clueless insult forever if it makes you feel better. You just haven't been able to prove it and I just keep proving you wrong.
