Guys I recently shot a bike video with the canon 80d at 1080p 60 and rendered it out to 30 (I dont like the surreal look of 60fps) I really would like you guys to look at the video and please criticize it for me the lens is a Isco Ultra Star 2x paired with a canon 50mm 1.8 and a SLR Magic rangefinder on the front not so much the story telling of the video but focus on the images I really need the feedback from people who know about cameras because the people who like my content are mainly focused on the bikes lol and I want a real critique to break down my images and tell me so I can improve id really appreciate it the video is called “A Day In The Life of Oneway Tom”
Hi , I've been watching all your videos with care and i can say that you've been motivating me to give my best even not have the same set of products, thank you for your talent!!
Ahhhhhhh you've given me the Kowa 16h virus again. I was obsessed with it and then forgot about it, and now this reminds me of how beautiful it is. It's a lot of money though for both the Kowa and a single focus solution... Ahhhhhhhhhhh
ruclips.net/video/ZkdsUIqCOrc/видео.html Here’s a tutorial on how to set it up. It’s has subtitles but the image explains everything. Hope this is helpful.
Really really great looks! Some of the skewing shows your lens alignment off, but great work and coloring! The depth of field is so tactile. The Kowa is such a stunning piece of glass.
Micah Lindstrom thanks man! I appreciate the kind words. Good eye! Yea, it definitely came off alignment a few times. It was hard to notice in the little view finder. I still need to build up my rig a bit. I think that will help a ton.
@@LudemanProductions is this all handheld shots? have you thought of using a gimbal i have the same 16-h lens i was thinking of how i could set it up with a gimbal just a thought as of now
Great video man ! 👏🏻👏🏻I love this look it very informative and felt happy seeing, I have been wanting to try few of my projects with anamorphic look because of budget constrain I was unable to use, but after seeing this video,I feel so happy I want to try out some few test shoot though I have not tried with this rig set up, if possible could you do a video which explains your rig setup and camera settings which you used for to achieve this quality . so it would be a really helpful. Thank you!
How did you attach this to the taking lens? I've been looking for a super 16 c mount anamorphic lens that i could adapt direcrtly to my camera but I don't think it's possible.
Absolutely breathtaking! Could you or someone else reading this answer how he is using the Nikon lens on the GH5? Is he using a metabones speed booster? Also, is the rapido clamp used to attach the range finder? My apologies if these are dumb questions.
Hey Dan! Question for you here. I own a Z Cam E2, but I'm honestly not sure how I like it. I'm having trouble getting it to color and expose in a way that makes sense to me. I'm finding more and more how important it is to get a camera that enables the shooter to capture the best footage possible. I come from using a Sony A7sii and I really love shooting in Cine 4. But I'm really looking for a good anamorphic camera and the GH5 seems like a good option there. I'm wondering how you would say the GH5 or GH5S stacks up against the Z Cam E2 in terms of anamorphic. Is there one you would pick over the other? This footage is absolutely stunning, by the way.
Some of the SLR anamorphic adapters don't really have to be adjusted in terms of focus(You would only need to focus on your taking lens). So what would happen if you just paired an auto focus taking lens with one of the anamporphic adapters that don't need to be focused separately? Just curious how/if it would work
The light flares from this setup seem to have different colors unlike the the flares on an slr magic anamorphic lens and others which are always blue. Is there an explanation for this?
Greate footage!! Quick question: I’m trying to get this set-up to work, but I keep getting 2 black bars on the side when I record with the atomos. (Because there are 2 sides on the GH5 screen) How can I only record the 4:3 format on the Atomos? Thanks in advance!!
I think it's because just by pairing the kowa or any other anamorphic lens to that matter, with the taking lens, it removes a lot of sharpness on the image. You can check out any other gh5 anamorphic videos on youtube and there's hardly any over-sharpness on any.
Can you clue us in to your color grading process? Love the warm highlights skintones and the teal shadows. Is it a lut or are you color grading with a process?
The shallow depth of field in this video looks absolutely gorgeous! So is “Kowa 16h” a lens or an adaptor? I’ve never heard of it before so I’m very curious!
Kowa is a lens that is adapted to a taking lens on your gh5, so the budget anamorphic setting consists of 2 lenses: the lens on your camera (a manual lens, typically 50mm & up depending on your sensor) and secondly, your anamorphic lens. Kowa, sanko & isco are known anamorphic lenses that are paired for these setups.
This is amazing! How did you go about mounting this to your pre-existing lens? Did you use the 16H adapter for thread mount? I saw in the info you were using the Nikon 50mm 1.4 - was this the lens you used on top of the thread?
Amazing !!! My favorites footages on RUclips about GH5 in anamorphic mode!!! I would like to have the same setup !!! Can you post the exact list I have to buy please? I'm looking for use my GH5 with Helios 44.2 in anamorphic mode but with a single focus and a Zhiyun Crane also!!! But on budget !!! Can you give some solution please!? I know I asked a lot!!!
this is amazing! realyl captivated by everything in this video, especially the music! I'm a new wedding videographer. I just got a GH5 this past year, and got VLOG a few months back. I had a question for you, how do I go about color grading my VLOG footage? The same way I would other footage but just get more flexibility? Or specific type of LUTs? Thank you!!
wow this looked amazing! fantastic job. i’m just starting to learn anamorphic and in the hunt for kowa b&h, 8/16, or Isco or maybe Sankor. I’ve got the Helios 44-2 as the taking. I use the A7s2 and I’ve been wondering how I would set the IBIS - I can set it manually for the focal length but I’m wondering if I would keep it at 60mm or would I halve since that’s the effect focal length with a 2x squeeze?? No clue but I’m very jealous of all the anamorphic features that Panasonic has given their GH line. How did you find your Kowa, ebay?
Loving your work man!!!!! Any tips for exposing with the gh5?.... I’m kind of struggling a bit with noise. Any help would be appreciated. Keep up the great work!!!
Nice footage! I tried shooting anamorphic 4k 60fps mode but when I input the footage into premiere it seems to be 24fps. Am i missing turn on a setting in the gh5 because variable frame rate is greyed out?
Really enjoy your edits. Was it hard to pull focus with the kowa dual focus set up? I'm looking into get some sort of anamorphic lens/adapter and can't decide between the kowa and slr magic adapter
Thank you! It wasn't bad at all. I actually used the SLR Rangefinder as a single focus solution. It worked out great. Very easy to pull focus with it. :)
Thanks! Yea, I noticed that on a few shots. I think I need to work a bit more on my rigging and settings inside the GH5. I think having IBIS turned on for some of the shots hurt it a bit.
Dude. I can't get over this. I'm harddcore getting into this anamorphic world. Would love to pick your brain on what you know. What's the difference between all the Kowas? 16h, 16d, etc.?
Thanks Bryant! I am still pretty new to the anamorphic game but I could happily talk about anamorphics all day. To my understanding, the Kowas come in all different flavors. They all range in size, scope, and optics. I can tell you that the 16h and the 8z are nearly identical in build dimensions. They look very similar optically too. However, I can't say the same about the 16d. I don't know a lot about that lens. I get a lot of my info from an awesome dude on youtube named Tito Ferradans. You could ask him some questions about the Kowa 16d. :)
these kids are so much more compelling than shots of cats and flowers.Bravo to the parents!
This is one of the best anamorphic demonstrations on youtube. Hits me emotionally too, and makes me wish I still might get to be a Dad.
Color, Rythmic, slowmotion, music, story lifestyle...so beautiful!

this is so awesoooome!!! camera moves, light, all optics imperfections, light leaks, grading (lut??) all give it such a unique look! great job!
Never mesmerised this much before, amazing work! Brilliant making
Man I've been looking to get into anamorphic for some time and the footage you're getting out of it is really amazing
Hi , I've been watching all your videos with care and i can say that you've been motivating me to give my best even not have the same set of products, thank you for your talent!!
❤️ perfect!
Dude. That means a lot coming from you good sir! I'm not going to lie, you and titto are why I got this lens. :P
Ahhhhhhh you've given me the Kowa 16h virus again. I was obsessed with it and then forgot about it, and now this reminds me of how beautiful it is. It's a lot of money though for both the Kowa and a single focus solution... Ahhhhhhhhhhh
Thanks Tommy. I know that virus all to well! It really is a wonderful lens. I'm excited to do some more testing with it.
Ok, you convinced me to get V-Log.
Well done for the gorgeous photography.
This looks absolutely INCREDIBLE
really cool stuff! that anamorphic look is very cinematic
Beautiful footage - makes me wish I had some kiddos! Can't wait to get my gh5
Oh man these are stunning.
why not a tutorial on how to set the lenses?
ruclips.net/video/ZkdsUIqCOrc/видео.html Here’s a tutorial on how to set it up. It’s has subtitles but the image explains everything. Hope this is helpful.
These are the Most beautiful Images ive seen so far…
Is there any explenation how to build this anamorph setup, what to buy exactly…etc?
So beautiful!
Awesome, both the video quality and editing
Thank you Saminnet! :)
Looks incredible! Good stuff!

Could you by chance time stamp examples of frames with this occurring?
@@LudemanProductions is this all handheld shots? have you thought of using a gimbal i have the same 16-h lens i was thinking of how i could set it up with a gimbal just a thought as of now
lovely kids , beautiful footage
Great video.... also. love “Lots of Candy”! I used it in one of my vids as well.
This looks so good! I definitely need to try anamorpohic on my GH5...
Holy smokes

Is there no Panasonic VLOG Version of your LUT?
Exquisite! I've only seen one or two other filmmakers with GH% footage this good. Are you using an external recorder?
Absolutely breathtaking! Could you or someone else reading this answer how he is using the Nikon lens on the GH5? Is he using a metabones speed booster? Also, is the rapido clamp used to attach the range finder? My apologies if these are dumb questions.
Incredible!
Could you do a video on how to set this up? I have a Panasonic S5 and I want to buy these but don't know what parts to get. Thank you
Damn, this was beautiful!
really like your videos! Do you use LUTS? Which one? I am in love with the colors of your vids!
This is the best anamorphic video I've seen on youtube. Color is incredible, did you grade or use a lut? Or Both?
so beautiful!! ❤️
amazing footage !
This is beautiful!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

your color grading is stupid pretty. feeling inspired to quick film just so I can grade something !
I'm going to get this kowa, i am just not really happy with the strong chromatic aberation...
The light flares from this setup seem to have different colors unlike the the flares on an slr magic anamorphic lens and others which are always blue. Is there an explanation for this?
probably different coating... its a projector lens after all..
i wanted to purchase your lut pack but i can't the gh5 's one
Beautiful! Have you tried using the Isco Micro RED Anamorphic Lens???
Awsome colors
Greate footage!! Quick question: I’m trying to get this set-up to work, but I keep getting 2 black bars on the side when I record with the atomos. (Because there are 2 sides on the GH5 screen) How can I only record the 4:3 format on the Atomos? Thanks in advance!!
really nice! Were all these handheld?
lovely video. Did you shoot this with the ninja inferno monitor?
I like this a lot!
Do you own a Isco red? How do you like it compared to the Kowa
Just amazing - did you shoot this with the GH5 4:3 4K anamorphic mode?
I was expecting 60fps to look too sharp but it ended up just perfect. How?
I think it's because just by pairing the kowa or any other anamorphic lens to that matter, with the taking lens, it removes a lot of sharpness on the image. You can check out any other gh5 anamorphic videos on youtube and there's hardly any over-sharpness on any.
A tiny bit of chromatic aberration. Do you know if that is from the Rangefinder, Kowa, or taking lens?
So,sooooobeatifull!!!
Really great footage! Care to share your rig setup?
Wow, I’m in love with DaVinci Resolve
Wow awesome anamorphic shot my friend where do u get that anamorphic or where I can buy
so beautiful :) !!!
HEY BUDDY R U GETTING BLOCK IN SKIN TONES WIHT VLOG SPECIALLY IN 60P 8BIT? PLZ LET ME KNW
Do you use a speedbooster or simply a nikon adapter?
Can you clue us in to your color grading process? Love the warm highlights skintones and the teal shadows. Is it a lut or are you color grading with a process?
Can you help me? What set up are you using in these videos :( thanks and God bless
very nice, what is te name of this music background?
Colours looks awesome ! How did you grade them ?
Beautiful footage. I was wondering do you get any "pillar bars" black on the sides before desqueezing?

What aspect ratio?
what about the only 8 bits? do you prefer spherical lenses with better codec or 8 bits anamorphic?

Great capture.
What Card did you use for 400mbs 60fps on the GH5?
Does it Crash/Stop recording after a few minutes?
with speedbooster or Without?
1. what is the aspect ratio?
2. how did you film and export and then upload to youtube?
this is amazing! realyl captivated by everything in this video, especially the music!

what picture profile are you shooting in? I would always overexpose the V-Log 2 stops.
What LUT did you use? I just order a 16s on eBay, looking to achieve something as amazing as this
Nice footage! I tried shooting anamorphic 4k 60fps mode but when I input the footage into premiere it seems to be 24fps. Am i missing turn on a setting in the gh5 because variable frame rate is greyed out?
great video, thanks for sharing. What setup do you prefer ? Vintage anamorphic lens+ SLR Magic Rangefinder, or SLR Magic 1.33-50 only?
Thank you! It's hard to say which I prefer. I'd say for wider shots, I'd go with my 1.33 - 50 and for tighter shots, the Kowa x2. :)
What adapter did it need to connect?
Wow Amazing !!!
This looks insanely stunning. Was this graded in premiere as well?

this is awesome! how did you get slowmo in anamorphic mode?
Looks really great! Could you tell me, hiw did you make slow-motion in anamorphic mode? My gh5 only offers me 30fps max when I choosing anamorphic.
hahah I tried to scroll up cause I thought it was cut off. then I realised I was searching for anamorphic HAHAHA
Hi, do you have luts for gh5? And tutorial how tu use them?
Epic content, as always! Your Kowa16H looks with a lot of character, Do you think the 16-S will flare as much as yours?
Cool! Seems a little bit distorted in some parts other then that really beautiful
Thanks! Yea, I noticed that on a few shots. I think I need to work a bit more on my rigging and settings inside the GH5. I think having IBIS turned on for some of the shots hurt it a bit.
I did notice that my IBIS will do that sometimes in strong backlight.
imo that distortion makes it so beautiful
Agreed, I love the distorted look too actually
That distortion is why people go for the anamorphic look. Its what contributes it to making the footage more cinematic
could you make a color grading tutorial?
What did you use to color this?

they also have different flare colors
beautiful :)
Yeah the golden one ;)
wow wow wow!
Hey amazing footage! just one question, did you have to tune up your kowa? or this is just "as is"
