I also got a bunch of comments about my choice of attending the Lakme Fashion Week, I've already cleared it up on an IG live session but let me put down my thoughts here as well. I used to model and walk ramps back in India until a few years ago. And as any model in India would know, Lakme Fashion Week is the highest level of success for any model, designer or makeup artist. Ive always wanted to walk the ramp for LFW but that never happened. And I moved on.
Fast forward to 2019, when Lakme called me and invited me to sit front row and witness the Fashion Week, how in my sane mind would I turn that down? This was my dream of being part of LFW finally come true! LFW was one of the most exciting events that has ever happened in my life, and I'd love to go back again and again and again. This has nothing to do with me not agreeing with Lakme's foundation range. Also, loves, just a thought - if I stopped working with all the Indian brands with shitty foundation range, given that I only work with cruelty free brands, who would I even work with at the end of the day? :'D
Anyways, hopefully this clears up that confusion :* Thank you for the never ending love and support my loves. You guys are my TRUE FAMILY. I LOVE YOU!

Lakme is not a luxury brand...for a drugstore Indian brand the price point is really high....They previously launched some shitty products in the colab with Kareena Kapoor Khan...so for a drugstore brand this price is not affordable at all..That is why there is a difference between a drugstore and a luxury brand..just like We can't expend Estree Lauder to sell their products for 200 rs we also don't want lakme to increase their price point beyond the reach of normal people.

This is going to be very long message but I hope you read it...
It's been 2 year I have been watching lot of youtubers and for sometime started following them.
But ...with the time I realised most of them are forcing me to buy products which I don't need with the influence that they are honest youtuber.
but with the time I started realising they are just pretending to be honest and promoting most of the brands that ended me up with unnecessary products and I regret buying. ( Most of all the Indian youtubers)
I had started watching RUclips videos to get more clarity about product confused me more..... That was really sad part about RUclips.. for me and I decided to go to dermatologist to know more about my skin.. but there was a problem I was worried to get into another unnecessary trouble.
Just for their benefitstaken really make you two things you don't you even needed...
But from nowhere flash on my RUclips suggestion list and I don't know why I started watching your video.
After 3 video I failed finally I can trust someone's opinion about beauty product. And that made me subscribe your channel..
I have lot of question to ask you and make some requests... And I am very confident that you will be able to help me

I don't understand people saying it is priced like mac and blah blah. Dude you get a mini mac that too by paying more than this. Also in luxury brands, you are literally paying more for the brand name than the product. Yes the products maybe good, fine but you all have no problem in 1k for 1 foreign brand lipstick but just when it's indian, you shame it. Care for the quality first and not the name. Lakme might have shit foundation range but they nail the lipsticks everytime. 800 being too pricey,is an acceptable complaint, but stop comparing it with mac. Mac doesn't really have all great products. Some are worse than our local brands too. So see a product's quality not branding.

I have dark complexion and I'm still a beginner with lipsticks, finding the right shade is hard....I own brown, red and mostly pink shades. I so want to own a nude lipstick. Everytime I go to a mall, I hear things like, 'Ma'am nude won't look good on you'- which is true for all the nude shades I've tried so far. I don't have a lipstick that costs more than 600 because I'm a student.
Thanks for the review. I will at least go and try lakme! I loved Maybelline creamy matte.

it’s too expensive for an indian brand, and that’s coming from someone who normally uses tomford and pat mcgrath lipsticks. It doesn’t feel worth it to spend that much money considering that lakme also has lipsticks starting from 250. if i m going to spend 800 bucks on a drugstore brand, i’ll probably buy liquid lipsticks from nykaa

Firstly, before actually applying this lipstick my mind told me why should i invest 800 buck on a lakme lipstick, but when i just applied it on my lips I understood i was not just any regular lipstick. It glided like anything n it got set like anything. It transfer but not much and for sake of trying its longivity i wore it n slept that day( i should not be doing this but I did it just ti check) n volla! It was the same the next day too. Basically i did eating test n sleeping too. I can hands down say it's really nice product and worth every penny. It just made me question mac's lipstick it was that dang good.

Kavya Prakash OMG, she “goes on and on”? Put a lid on it. You know what she’s gone on and on about for years? How India BANS TESTING ON ANIMALS ON ANY COSMETIC PRODUCT. Do you know what that makes Lakmé? Cruelty free. Do you have any idea how many times I’ve probably said this? Probably a million. You could’ve easily googled that, but you had to make it a MrJ problem! I’m not working for Lakme. It’s not my job to clear these up. But what I do is only use CRUELTY FREE MAKEUP on my channel, and I will not let anyone question my integrity.

I would rather prefer buying a maybelline or a mini mac for the price that you gotta pay for 1 LAKME lipstick. And packaging is cheap too!LAKME buck up dude, you have a very spoilt reputation in the Indian Market! And jovi please consider price to be a parameter too for consumers! Lakmè has been doing this since ages ... They don't really work hard for a product. I might not be a blogger but i am a consumer. And then they increase prices thinking it will boost up the sales as consumers find costly products better which is a myth!! They might be listening as you say but they aren't working enough towards it. Ur a blogger and u have worked with soo soo many brands and i guess you know what i m talking about. Anyways no personal grudges.. its just my perspective and my opinion 😊

I agree. The people at Lakme are lazy. Zero research goes into their products. Be it foundations or lipsticks or anything else. They think by hiring Kareena Kapoor as a brand ambassador, everyone's going to go Ga Ga and buy their products unquestionably. They dont really care about what their customer base wants. Take this lipstick itself for instance. Made for indian market but so soft that it won't stand basic Indian climatic conditions.
