      Actually, he confuses the sound made by the false vocal cords with the subharmonic technique - the sounds made by the false vocal cords are kinda different and less harmonic and less robotic and not as powerful as subharmonic sounds, and, subharmonics are in fact a set of vocal techniques that push the chest voice to its absolute lowest by creating that drill-like robotic sound, and, when I do subharmonics I can feel that the false vocal cords aren’t involved, as it feels very different when using the false vocal cords, which is a feeling that’s more similar to the feeling one gets when using vocal fry, and, it sounds like both the throat bass and the slizzer bass are made the same way, and only the placement is different, so, with slizzer bass the placement seems more forward and its projection seems to be towards a spot that is closer to the upper part of the mouth, whereas throat bass has a placement that is more in the back of the throat or closer to the back of the throat and at a slightly lower spot, so both seem to have the epiglottis involved, not really the false vocal cords, which are mostly used in dm growling and metal screaming etc and have very different feeling and sound… (When I hear ppl doing the regular throat bass, most of the times they use the subharmonic technique, not really the false vocal cords throat clearing sound, so I guess there are two types of throat bass, and most of the times, ppl switch to the subharmonic throat bass without realizing, as it’s naturally easier to make the subharmonic sounds!)

      Re honey, it’s not necessary and it’s not good for ppl, just as all other animal products - one should use maple syrup or agave syrup or rice syrup with lemon water / lemonade instead, or just water or lemonade! (Plant-based products are always the best for one’s vocal cords and hth and teeth etc - I am plant-based and can sing all day using subharmonics, without losing my voice, and I haven’t gotten any new cavities after going plant-based, plus I never get a cold or the flu etc!)

    If you've learnt Throat Bass, you can try this to learn Vibration Bass.
    Hold the Jayton voice (it's pretty much the voice you would use if you were pushing something really heavy) and slowly transition into Throat Bass. You'll notice that before you actually get to Throat Bass, you get an unclean crackle. Try stablizing that position and holding that crackle. Then try transitioning from that crackle to Throat Bass and if you manage to hit an extremely precise position somewhere in the middle of this crackle and Throat Bass, you'll get Vibration Bass. After that, just practice holding it for a while and getting it consistent.
    This crackle and especially Vibration Bass can hurt even more than Throat Bass by the way, so don't practice it for too long at once.

    Man great video, the hardest part I find really for being motivated to try and learn this bass, is as a complete beginner, it becomes uncomfortable within less than a min of even just trying to isolate the vibration part and extending, which makes attempting to learn this technique such a difficult slow process.

  • @qts
    @qts Год назад

    This is a great video, it was very important to explain that there is a slizzer bass that sounds similar but is something else. This at least in theory answers my questions. But there are still other important questions, like why slizzer bass is true folds + epiglottis, and a "vocalized chest bass" is also kind of true folds + epiglottis, but they sound very different. And how to make sure that the throat bass is a subharmonic and not the fundamental tone, because in the case of the chest bass, when you add voice to it, the subharmonic is not added, the sound just gets louder.

    • @MazeFrogBeatbox
      @MazeFrogBeatbox  Год назад +1

      The epiglottis is a big thing, so it can vibrate at very low frequencies (like an octave and a fifth or two octaves below the true folds for the vocalized chest bass), but its also possible to get it to vibrate at higher frequencies. So when doing slizzer bass, the epiglottis vibrates either a fifth above the true folds (creating the 1st subharmonic) or one octave below the true folds (not creating any subharmonics but it still sounds a lot like it does so no one really cares all too much).

    • @MazeFrogBeatbox
      @MazeFrogBeatbox  Год назад

      The vocalized chest bass is not a subharmonic technique, the frequencies dont clash in a way that would create any subharmonics

    great video! as someone who kind of studies this, i think your explination is pretty on point.
    i also think, that chestbassfamily (including slizzerbass) is made with the epiglottis, but i think there is no real "proof" yet, right? if so, please tell me, i'd really like to see chestbass in a videolaryngoscopy or something.
    last lil thing: when talking about the glottis, we mostly refer to the vocal folds + the space inbetween them. if another part of your body emulates this function - like the false folds for example - you can also call that pseudoglottis.

    Hey man, I appreciate the video and breaking down what the throat bass is, I've been practicing this for like a long time and I had times were I just stop completely bcuz it felt pointless to me to figure out what I'm supposed to do. But now since I got into beatbox again I was thinking of trying to practice throat bass to see if I can really get my beatbox to the next lvl.
    I have like 3 questions that I'm trying to figure out if I'm doing it right or not.
    1. Do I need to breath it out my mouth or nose?
    2. Can I drink cold water or just normal water? I heard from a friend that cold water makes it hard for you throat to work with when practicing throat bass.
    3. Do I need to be similar to a singer with good control of my voice? I'm not a singer so I have a low voice and can't sing high notes.
    Also despite my failed attempts, my throat is still on good condition so I don't experience ANY long term pain from failing the throat bass.
    I hope get learn this sound bcuz this has been my most fav sound since the Marcus Perez Vine era which is basically 6 - 7 years ago at this point XD. Thanks again for the tutorial, I will practice this very much and very careful.

    • @MazeFrogBeatbox
      @MazeFrogBeatbox  Год назад +1

      Wow thank you for this beautiful comment! 1 The sound is outward, so you can do it woth the full voice through thevmouth, or just like a hum through the nose, it stays the same. 2 I recommend drinking tea or warm water, because i believe it helps relax and calm down the throat, amd also it kust feels nice. 3 I dont think you necessarily have to be a singer, but singing is useful because you really get to know your voice and you learn things like pitch accuracy, and breath control, which i think can help you squeeze out all the juice this bass has ro offer

    • @gallanomarkandrea.1787
      @gallanomarkandrea.1787 Год назад

      @@MazeFrogBeatbox Thanks Maze, I really appreciate the help that I'm getting because I really do love this sound. Also drinking warm water really sounds like a good idea cuz it really puts my throat in a relax and loose state. Btw, while practicing is there an expectancy on when I can learn the sound? I'm fine if it would take a month because taking breaks is important for the throat so that I won't break my throat.
      EDIT: I just notice that if I do really deep sigh through my through and let it pass through my nose I notice a vibration through my throat, its not painful, it's ticklish, but it feels pretty difficult to control. Is this the part of my throat were I can practice throat bass with?

      It really differs from person to person, for be throat bass was like a month, vocalized chest bass a year, hard bass is still far from where i want it to be, but i dont train it

      @@home7914 if by relaxing the throat bass you get a chest bass then its likely that your throat bass is actually a slizzer bass. I think youre talking about my hard bass tutorial right?
