A genuine, unironic cinematic masterpiece. This takes the already phenomenally directed first film and elevates it to a whole different level. I love how Kevin’s protecting other people rather than defending himself, showing his character growth.

I always liked this one growing up, glad to see MWS does too! Also, the way the "gasoline in the toilet" trap was set up is brilliant. You can tell Harry remembers the blowtorch trap, and Kevin, predicting that he would, set it up to play off of him being cautious about going through doors.

The screaming is the most distinct part of the burglar characters beyond their slapstick injuries. It just sounds so much more painful when their screams are ripping apart the fabric of the universe like that than if they had used something cleaner.

I legitimately don't know how this happened, but it became a running joke in one of my friend groups that because Macaulay Culkin was at the world trade center in this movie, that he was responsible for 9/11. Not the character Kevin McCallister, but, at the time, 21-year-old actor Macaulay Culkin.

Home Alone and Home Alone: Lost in New York are classics and all But... no lie, Home Alone 3 is my all-time favorite, though my family will not let me watch it. You guys should react to it. It is wildly underrated, and it even has a young Scarlet Johanson, and the kid is ACTUALLY home alone. It clears up all of the "but you could have *blank*" and the three stooges/yet would 100% murder this kid level of acting is wonderful. Plus, the plot is hilariously ridiculous.
