Make a Fancy Leather Watch Strap (Full Tutorial!)
This week we've got the third and final tutorial in our watch strap series! This is the fanciest way we know how to make a watch strap - nice chrome tanned leather, an inner structure piece, finished edges, nice french lining - we throw the whole bag of tricks at this one and you can follow along to make your own! So many folks have followed along with our other two watch strap tutorials working from simple on up, we can't wait to see what you make!

@Corter Leather - it would really help if your said in the tutorials or in the description the EXACT thickness of the leather that you use on all of your projects. The links to the leather in Buckleguy list several different thicknesses.
Quite frankly, if you have the tools to do this project, then there's really no excuse to not be able to figure out what your preference is on thickness. Just look at what thicknesses are available and use your measuring tools so you can visualize how thick that leather is, then decide your preference from there

you can easily add some extra design by punching through the top layer of leather (before assembly) and lining it with a think coloured ribbon.

Also for some reason I’m bad at keeping my buckle holes in a straight line this punch will help me a lot

I recently met a retiring master leather craftsman in Western MA (did work for Gucci, Armani, etc). He sold some of his leather to me, then GAVE me 5 boxes of gorgeous ‘scraps’ (many large pieces) - lambskin, buffalo, calf, etc. Gave me two pound boards and two rolls of interfacing…
I told him about Corter Leather, and the fact that I learn so much here!!😊

Is there any way you can link to the sticky back nylon fabric stuff? I went to the fabric store and they looked at me like I was crazy. I tried googling the name veladon and nothing came up. Thanks! Love the videos.

I think you should start your videos with showcasing the final product. It would help people who are looking to see if this is doable for them before investing in watching the entire video or skipping to the end first to see the final result.

Wait, how does the buckle attach?
The buckle comes in three pieces. A spring bar goes through the fold in the leather. The hook goes in the punched hole in the center and the spring bar goes through this. The frame then gets attached to the spring bar. Have a look at a watch buckle and disassemble it and you will understand how it works.

You need to sharpen your knives
For the love of god, stop smacking your skiving knife on the marble to remove scraps. It's no wonder you are struggling to even get through that first skive. I cringe every time I hear that tap tap tap on the marble.

They’ve expressed before that they value their privacy, and prefer to not be recognized on the street, etc. (Part of the reason they don’t have a physical storefront.)
