If you were making a cardboard prop that you sealed with wood glue and paint and you put a sharpie on it it will shine unless you put Elmers glue on top of it as a clearcoat

Yeah you can and i don't think it matters at all what type of pva you use because it wont eat away at the eva like it can with styrofoam

I use a foam inner and sandwich it with 1mm eva. Another thing with styrofoam is that pva will make its own "pools" and leave sections with no glue on it. Of course, that may be due to the foam, or not watering down the glue enough. The stuff I have in Insulation foam, though DFT and I seem to use the same Selleys glue. Another trick, for handles and softer sections, if using eva, is to use Mod Podge to seal the foam as it sets flexible instead of hard as pva does.
