Thank you for all your documentation on this chassis seabass, such a huge help, thanks to your videos I’m 2zz swapping my Solar Yellow GT in about a month, you give people the courage to dive into these projects man, keep at it!
Recently did a front brake job, pads and rotors on my 2000 Celica GT. The new brake shims wound up rubbing on the new rotors, creating a horrible racket. In 50 years of working on cars never has that happen before. Wound up replacing them with the used shims. My hat is off to you and all that you do on the street, in the yard and at your friends. Really enjoy your videos and look forward to them. Keep 'em coming.
I like the look of the red Celica. My Celica is silver. But I have not gotten a speeding ticket since 2004 the last year I had my Red RX7. So, while red looks hot, I like not attracting police with the silver car.
14:32 Hi Sebastian, whats that scraping noise even after a new rotor and pads? I have that same scraping noise and I don’t wanna throw in $$ to change my rotors and pads if they wouldn’t solve the problem.
Why not do a tercel or paseo project car and do a 2zz swap? C59 transmission will let ya use the stock axles and trans mounts. Just gotta go standalone and relocate the side engine mount. 2k ibs chassis too
I have a question 🤔 about the lift bolts on those engines 2zzlow I need your help. I have a 02 gts with a lift bolt broke and I still drive it. The still hits lift the vvtL-i still goes 8'000 Rpm, is that okay? Is it normal?
Mine smelt of gas and did the slow start, turned out it was leaking gas from the plastic union clip where it connects to the hard line at the back of the engine, If you know what I mean. Probably not but worth a check
I love your channel. I've used so many of your videos to help fix my rusty Celica and restore it. Thank you!
You are so welcome!

Jinx is cool, you should make him star in more of your videos.
^^ what he said
ill try to include jynx in more episodes, She tends to hang out on top of the parked cars.
Good stuff ZZlow.... 10 year reunion with his car looool
happy ending
If you're only doing rotors, do you have to take off the caliper? Or you can just do the whole thing with the 17mm bolts only ?

might of been the dust shield i think i pushed it out after
Brakes make noise right after installation, it’s new contact between the pads and rotors. It’s normal and it goes away
Keep it up!! Enjoy your content
Thanks, will do!

Hey, great video, where do you go recycle your rotors?
local recycling yard where we take out soda cans and bottles
@@2zzlow thank you
Forsure it might the fuel pump or injector seals are dry rot thats what mines had problem with
well that's extra money and the owner was tapping out
@@2zzlow customers are always cheap i always tell customers dont go cheap on parts
Are the Gts rotors the same as GT? On rock auto I don’t see anything for gt rotors just gts just wondering if they’re the same? Thanks.
yes they are the same
@@2zzlow awesome thank you!!! Love your videos btw!
Heyy bro wat size of oil u think is better for the 2zz.the oil cap say 5w-30?wat u recomend is better
That...
"alright...she hits lift" XD
important part!
Does 1zz gt have lift (if so how to test)
Is the brake rotors same as the corolla s/xrs? Thanks
Savage out here
indeed
Are the rear brake pads the same as the front ?
No

until the rocker shaft rotates
But the thing is that it still hit lift revs up high with the broken intake lift bolt no difference
Until the rocket shaft rotates, the job of the lift bolt is to hold it in place
Is he the original owner?
Yes
Should the valve train be that loud ?
The alternator is shot but he decided to take it and replace it at a later date

Yea I know what you are talking about and he decided to take it. He will bring it back after he gets the car smogged and registered.
dang my GT has 140k miles but i guess its because it has only been in my tiny ass town here in alaska
damn that's nothing for a toyota!
Just ordered my stop tech centric rotors w/ EBC brake pads for the XRS 😎
Killer!
