Perhaps we should coin the phrase Historical High Country/Primitive to refer to wonderful home decor with stories to tell. This style is here to stay because those of us who gravitate towards this style have a great appreciation for the past snd bring it into our present and future. These stories are with keeping alive.

This shop is totally me. I lived in Massachusetts for 18 years and moved back to Louisiana when my father died. Unfortunately I was not able to move back. There are no primitive crafts to be found down here. I used to make primitive crafts and dolls but people where I live don’t seem to understand “primitive”, they think it looks dirty.....lol!
Or they think they can buy these items at a dollar store. They have no clue of the work that it takes to make primitive items. I miss New England so much. I would be at this shop every day. Thank you for bringing back some great memories! 😊❤️

Love the little blue dress. Guess I could start sewing dresses again, plus the stuffed bunnies and bears, but honestly I’d rather buy them in this adorable shop. Wish I could shop with you Anne! We’d probably get in trouble . Oh well, just fun😍❤️🇺🇸

Oh how I miss the primitive shops. They have closed in my area or turned farmhouse. Miss the pictures, greenery, tabletop decor. Oh just miss it all. Lol
Hi Ruthann - I think farmhouse is starting to go out - the trend has finished and maybe people will be turning back to prim. It stands the test of time I think.

What a neat store I love the way she has the twinkle lights I have them on my enclosed porch in an old hutch I get so many compliments on them and they last for ever I love that she sells the period color paint and i love her signs loved it God bless

I used to live in Woodstock graduated from Woodstock Academy.My husband was born and raised there.I went through parts of Woodstock when I was on my way home from N.H.l sure do miss New England,I wasn't made to be a Southern Bell.
I lived in the South for a little while but I do really enjoy the history up here. I love the quiet corner! However, I could trade it for a home by the ocean too. :)

I would be totally broke. I love everything.. I miss these type of shops, I didn’t think they existed anymore. When I lived in Sturbridge MA. These type of shops were plentiful, unfortunately that was over 20 years ago and they’re not there anymore. Wish she shipped and had a catalog.
Tessier’s Changes in Thyme ships as does Country Bumpkins and Primitive Goods all of which I feature in my channel. There are so few of these stores around New England now too. They all died out.

Hi Anne. I took your advice and visited this beautiful store recently. I wanted one of everything. I did purchase a number of items. I visited with the owner she knew where I lived as there is a country store in my town . What a delightful day looking forward to returning soon.

It's a good thing I'm nowhere near that store otherwise I'd be spending every cent I have in there. I have one of those old teddy bears and I think it was probably made by the same person that made those pieces that I saw in the store but I've had it for many many years now. Anne, you put this video together so beautifully with the music. I must compliment you on that. A real true artist you are!

Oh Anne, I can’t thank you enough... I just asked you for this tour a week ago, and up it popped. I just want to share amazing news... after 11 weeks of being blind in his left eye, this morning when the doctor removed the bandages, he got his sight back. I am so grateful for all the prayers and good wishes. This means sometime this year, we will be visiting some of the great places you’ve posted! Thank you Anne... during Covid and health issues, you & Tom have been a saving Grace 💕

So here's my secret Ruth. I took Tom in there and he fell in love with Kathy and Carl and then he wanted to support them. So now I can shop there freely because well, it's for them. :)

Hi Holly - nope - I've tried. She has so many fine, handmade and fragile items that just wouldn't ship well so she doesn't want to risk it. To her, all the items in there are real and she cares about them. :) She talks to the bunnies before they go home with me and assures them that they are going to a good home. lol
Hi Anne, we are interested in making a distressed, primitive tissue box start to finish, but can’t find step by step anything to do the painting and staining to make it look like the ones in the shops. Any ideas where we could get that instructional video and products to buy (paint, stain, wax, brushes to use, etc)? Any help would be great. I am a subscriber. 🙂

Those bunnies are Rugged Chic. They have a FB page. They only sell through stores I think so the trick is to find a store that carries them. And they are in high demand.
