@@ModelNerd yeah I remember you saying something about that when we were chatting on a previous video. that you have been on a bomber kick.. once again you're very welcome and loving the videos my friend!
Someone may have already said this, but that diesel locomotive was used for moving equipment in the field when they didn't want the smoke from the coal locomotives to give away their positions, it would go GREAT with your Dora, they used two of them to move it along the tracks as and after assembling. Sorry if this is a repeat, I wanted to post the info but didn't have time to read through all the comments. Nice stash!
Thanks Ron. Yes, I have a couple of photos of the locos moving the Dora. At the moment I'm going to go with the D311 (aka V311) loco which appears in most of the photos. It's the one that Trumpeter have recently released in 1:35 scale. There's no 1:72 scale kit at the moment but there is a 3D printed model I'm going to be using.
Thanks for an interesting video. Looks like you're going to need some serious shelf space. I'm surprised you've never heard of the Sea Otter, I knew of this plane way back in the early 60's. -- The German WW2 winter white camouflage was usually applied at the unit or maintenance level, and was a water soluble based paint, and as such it suffered a lot from the elements, rain and snow, so come spring a lot of the normal camouflage was showing, and the aircraft could look quite tatty. This give the modeler a whole lot of license for artistic interpretation. Hope this helps, and thanks again for the video. JtP.
The movie in which 2 ISDs crashed Ito each other, was a scene of “Roque One”. The Mon Cal admiral in command of the strike force was inspired to ram a Hammerhead Corellian cruiser into 1 ISD, forcing her to crash-ram into her ISD consort, in the hope of both would be forced to crash into the massive planetary blocking shield station, disabling it, so that the rebel fighters could swarm onto the planet surface to help the strike team which was in the process of stealing the plan of the Death Star. Btw, I enjoyed your video builds and looking forward to every one of your future hobby builds. Keep up the nice work.
"I can't quite remember why I bought this..." There's a phrase that crosses my mind quite often, when I'm rummaging through my stash. But then I come to my senses and think; "I'm a model builder, I don't need a reason to have this or that in my stash!" :)
@@ModelNerd ever get that feeling of 'Woah! That's a pretty cool kit! I gotta get me one of those!", when watching fellow modellers show their stashes on RUclips? Greetings from Portugal.
B17g was for electronic countermeasures in RAF service most bombers carried window. 100 group used this B17 . Your right about the Lancaster kits had to use strong tape to clamp the fuselage and bomb doors in position. Not really good for a new tool
You like doing unconventional colour schemes? And planes too. How about Brewster Buffalo in Finnish colours? :) I built the Sea Otter from Matchbox almost 40 years go. Fun thing. Also if you want a challenge... Do the Tomcat in Bicentennial decor.
Well you certainly have a fair stash of models to keep you busy. Also some quite obscure aircraft. As for the Tirpitz check out Ebroin on You Tube. He is making a super detailed 1/350 Tirpitz model and the videos are fascinating. He is a modeler with amazing talents. It would be interesting to see your car model stash. I am presently building an ICM 1/24 Model T Ford. I found the kit very disappointing as it builds like a metal car kit with a flat base. Rather than bin it I decided to scratch build a proper chassis so quite a bit of work but it means one can get weeks of modelling out of it.
Thanks Allan, I will look up Ebroin. Good news - I have made a car stash video already :) It is already uploaded and scheduled to be published 2 weeks today, while I'm travelling :) Good luck with the scratch building - it seems like a lot of hard work but it'll be worth it.
Phew, alright....lots and lots of beaut kits which will keep you busy for some time to come. Totally understand the urge for buying more when they are so tantalisingly reduced in price....and are not in the stash. Obvious that British WW2 bombers are the favourites.
Yeah, it's a recent thing. Maybe because I feel like I've built most of the major WW2 tanks (although in reality there are loads of versions and variations I haven't built).
Love the idea for a diorama of the tempest tipping a v1 Really cool 😎 I’d love to know who came up with the idea of flipping the v1’s over with your wingtip, Crazy
Yes, I think it is. A long time ago (before this channel) I built the Trumpeter 1:35 Leopold. It's currently still in a box somewhere, not unpacked since my last move.
Some great kits there. Do love the Phantom, lovely warbird. For alternative XWing build, why not the scene where they leave Yavin 4 for the Deathstar run in A New Hope?
Nice stash. I know it's not necessarily the correct locomotive, but do you know if the WR360 will fit on the Dora tracks? I think the Dora tracks are way out of scale. Really wish Hobby Boss would do a 1/72 D311 loco.
Thanks Steve. I'm not sure about the WR360 - the box is packed away at the moment so I can't check. However, I suspect they are the same width but the Dora rails are definitely way taller for some reason.
How to you choose your kits? What's more important to you, Price or Subject? I don't see any pattern of interest? What's your favorite subject to build?
I like most areas in general. Military-wise, I prefer WW2, and WW2 RAF for aircraft. But I'm open to lots of different options - sometimes the subject grabs my attention, sometimes the paint scheme, etc.
Don´t think that RAF Mustang (Mk I) have Desert Camo - it´s that brown and green. They flew out of gatwick, on the Dieppe Raid and some armed recce missions etc. As far as i know, they were never in the desert, not RAF ones.
Look forward to seeing the ship builds
Thanks Stephen. I'm thinking of starting the Prince of Wales as my next build, once the desk is clear.
Can't wait until you get cracking on the bombers.... Awesome video my friend!
Thanks T.J. Yeah, I've had a real thing for bombers recently.
@@ModelNerd yeah I remember you saying something about that when we were chatting on a previous video. that you have been on a bomber kick.. once again you're very welcome and loving the videos my friend!
Nice stash.. Have 15 boxed matchbox kits in my stash (16 if I included the Revell reissue of the twin otter).
Nice!
Nice stash you have there.
Thanks. Trying to reduce it!
The Stormtroopers are my favorite characters of STAR WARS since 1978 - of all your stash I want to see them first 😁
Yeah, I do like them :)

1/350 Tirpitz, F-15 from Tamiya...built 1/350 Tirpitz years ago, and as expected from Tamiya quality, very nice kit.
Thanks Rudy, that's good to know
Great future projects my friend and good luck with them !🏆🏅👍🏻🎩👌🏻
Thank you Ovidiu
That spitfire kit from tamiya is probably the best kit I’ve ever made it’s so fun to build
Thanks, that's good to know. I will look forward to it

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that one. I think Italeri have just re-released the bomber version of this actually.

@@ModelNerd yes that was an interesting version from the standard B17 . Looks like a nice kit
Excellent stash! I don’t have as many planes or ships, but I do have about two hundred armor models’
Wow, that's a good effort! I haven't built much armour in a while - I need to get back to some.
With my today order i have now around 300 kits on my stash.i hope one day i will build them all.....
I feel the same. I've cut back on the buying but sometimes there are awesome kits released that I really would like :)

Thanks, that's good to know. My only worry is the painting - particularly the sides of the structures
@@ModelNerd I just painted in sub assemblies then glued them on

The box art on the WR360 loco looks like it might be in front of the Leopold railway cannon...?

No gundam🙊 btw I would love to see you build and paint the speeder bike and scout trooper! Or any stormtrooper kit.
Sorry about the gundam! It just was never really my thing :) Yeah, a nice chipped up speeder bike will be cool.
@@ModelNerd There is not many on youtube showing the painting of the starwars figs. Model chili is the only guy I know.

The AT-ST/Snowspeeder kit is 1:144 scale. I need this kit for a diorama.
The Bandai snowspeeder is 1/48 but mine also included a 1/144 version in the box
I got that Tamiya spitfire kit as a gift recently, so I'd love to know how it goes together
It certainly looks good

@@ModelNerd Hmm, I might be wrong when I think about it. iirc the box has a green-brown scheme.. But there were desert-painted.. I dunno.. :)

I really do :) And US planes...in British schemes :D
