Blood Spilled straight up sounded like Godzilla charging his atomic breath. This album…I still don’t have enough words. I’ can’t believe something not only topped Terrasite for me, but screamed past it. This is now my favorite HLB album and just pure art. Sonic art. Visual art. This shit hits harder than anything I’ve ever heard. I love it. It’s a gift.
Incredibly underappreciated channel and content. I'm relatively new to the metal scene and your stuff always brings that extra joy with it, because you can clearly see how much you are into the music, which I absolutely love. Greetings from Germany! :)
Ooh, can’t wait to watch and listen to your entire reaction during my workout later tonight! Streamed the album on RUclips last night and I’m still in utter awe of this band and this album. Every single track is a work of art!!
such a behemoth of an album, easily taking my top spot for this year so far. Plus fun fact those vocals you commented on in Death Spiral that are the yell/scream vocals are actually Buster!! He actually does a lot more vocals on this album than the previous such as the high screams and even the cleans on Passage are Buster too! This blew my mind lol
This album is really good I can see it being your album of the year, I have a hard time between dead vectors the grey and levitated their new ep produced by buster great reaction as always bro keep up the awesome work
Hah I enjoyed your reaction so much) Did you already listened to it with the visuals?) It's a hell of a ride on the roller coaster with Death itself sitting next to you) This album is just fantastic. Everything's in its places and nothing seems odd it's a pure enjoyment. So magnificently dark and eerie but there's so many unpredictable tricks that make Ashen even more delicious. Easy 10 out of 10. If they outdo themselves one day okay I'll give it 10 out of 10 again) And honestly I want so much for them to overcome THIS hight because it means that we could potentially get something quiet literally divine. Thank you for reaction) 👍👍👍
I think they've already "overcame" themselves with Valde. Earthless, Glutton and Tide are the best tracks they've ever written atm. Structure, production, riffs, vocals, drums, everything is top tiered there
I will disagree about cleans. This album is way beyond any dark imaginable already, so cleans just hit... different... Even more dark, heavy and haunting at this point... They nailed it.
Oh yeah, I kind of mispoke there lol but I totally agree. I think the way that Humanity's Last Breath approaches cleans actually makes the composition that much darker, but I was also glad that we got plenty of Filip's raw aggression aswell🤘🔥
I haven't had as much time with the album as some of the other folks here, but I would wager that the experimental nature of this album comes from the insane mixing/layering throughout the album that consumes everything, like a hungry ocean. Besides that, the actual compositions are arguably some of their best work to date imo🔥🔥
This album and Måsstaden under vatten has to be two of the best album ever made 🔥

This album is gonna take me a long time to fully digest because holy shit🤯🤯

Thank you so much! That really means a lot😊
This album feels so otherworldly it's crazy
Also the video for the full album is cool af
I'll have to go check that out! I'm in love with this album and I think it'll be on repeat for a long time🔥🔥

Gotta get those Gojira gains first💪😤 I respect the grind, my man
It really feels like they followed along with Masstaden Under Vatten and continued releasing more Music 2
Those different vocals in Death Spiral and Shell are actually Buster!
thall
That would explain Buster's vocal credit on the album then lol that's pretty sick! thall🤘
@@ErikGreymaneactualy, Buster does the backing vocals in all the songs! He basicaly does the fry scream parts
11:25 - literally this is how you headbang to thall. You just feel it and jam with it! No rythm needed :D
That's the superpower of HLB lol they just have a way of making you groove to the sound of the world imploding😂
It only took like 3 decades of trying, but someone has finally out-heavied Meshuggah. Or, at a minimum, matched them.

Oh damn🤯🤯 I didn't realize he did all of those parts aswell but holy shit. Buster is insane!
I am putting this AOFY for me

Buster really does have the Midas touch lol

I feel the same like when I've heard scream vocals for the first time... Its like they re-invented cleans :D (And yes, Tide is pure perfection)

I know thall is nothing new for HLB, but can anyone explain to me why this album still feels oddly experimental for them?
