You Know The Olympics Use To Mean Something Back When Winning Gold Medals For Your Country Was Very Important. These Days Just Like The WWE It's About Sponsors, Endorsement Deals And Making A Whole Lot Of Money. Also Ratings.
World class badminton is wild, I can play a bit but when you see the professionals in action you just sit there & consider your life choices, it's so much faster. Rugby sevens is also an absolute blast as a fan to watch as it's quick paced & with the quicker games you're usually seeing a bunch of games in short order and it's rarely if ever dull!
I play badminton and also give training to children. I'm not an extremely high skilled player myself, but I know how the game works. It is such an underrated sport, people just think you play it on the beach and it doesn't mean much. But on a competitive level it's extremely high speed and skill based. You can do much more with a shuttle than you can with a ball in tennis. Even on the screen it looks slow, but this has a lot to do with how effective the pro's walk. The precision in footwork required is huge.
I played handball for seven years while in school, from grade 6 all the way to grade 12, and was a goalie the entire way. Let me put it this way, being a goalie in handball is like being a baseball catcher without padding; I've suffered numerous injuries due to shots hitting me hard and in bad places. Handball is an intense, fast-paced, tactical game the requires players of all sizes and shapes. I seriously wish they would broadcast it on TV more and give it a chance to rise in popularity in Canada and the U.S.
I watched the women's gold medal match between Norway and France The Norwegians mopped the floor with the French team. Their star goalie Katrina Lunde is retiring from the sport after the Olympics. She's 44 years old. During the games, she had the highest save rate of any goaltender 40%.
I had chills watching my son run out onto our states D1 college football programs field for two state high school championship games so far (2 undefeated seasons) and hoping for two more seasons like that. I can’t imagine being the parent of an Olympian watching them at their highest level!! It’s the field every boy in our state dreams of playing on some day in high school (and girls, we saw more girls in junior high football, not so much in high school) Nebraskans football team has struggled for years but seeing your own kid run out of the tunnel onto the field with their names and pics up on the big screens is so cool.
Ok, this is gonna sound like a joke, but it's a true story and I seriously recommend it to everyone. I thought Curling would be on here and for good reason. I was on a weekend get away with my fiancee back about 10 years ago... We were in the hotel room and women's curling happened to be on... As we were just relaxing and starting to get a little frisky we "thank goodness" never turned off the TV... The womens curls teams SCREAM different things during competition... So as my fiancee and I are in the throws of passion, it's as tho I have a literal cheerleading section behind me on the TV... I keep hearing "HAAAAAARRRRRDDDD....GO HAAAARRRRDDD...." Then cheering and high fives... Simple to say it wasn't the last time we watched women's curling during love making 👍🙏
As a brazilian (a country that has pretty much no snow) i love to watch the curling at the winter olympics. dont know if its underrated in winter countrys.
My favorites: Summer: Archery, Fencing, Modern Pentathlon, Shooting, Sport Climbing, Weightlifting, Wrestling Winter: Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Cross-Country Skiing, Luge, Nordic Combined, Skeleton For reference: Ancient Pentathlon: Discus, Javelin, Jumping, Running, Wrestling Modern Pentathlon: Fencing, Running, Shooting, Show Jumping, Swimming
I'm so proud to witness such a grandiose opening of the Olympics last night! The way boats went trough the Sen,athletes waving. Eiffel Tower glowing, such beautiful special effects, lasers! Dancing, choreography.Such joy, emotions. I'm so proud to be part of it. Many interesting sports, canoe, skeleton, trampoline, table tennis, penthathlon, archery, artistic swimming, badminton seems interesting too.Handball is great sport! Interesting, dynamic. Really cool. You guys in US should definitely give it a chance.Everything Tom numbered. It's perfect. You won't regret it. Great video!
I had no idea about many sports present in this list. Handball looked the most interesting and exciting to me. I would definitely like to watch and even try it someday. Skeleton also looked really exciting to watch but it looks quite scary too.
Handball , artistic swimming , pentathlon , waterpolo ,weightlifting , diving ,trampoline , rythmic gymnastics and wrestling are my favourites it was usually aired here in Egypt on air every Olympics because Egypt participates in them and have medals or at least very good results .
The events that have more than one discipline including shooting are the craziest to me. For example in the Winter Olympics where they ski a whole bunch then have to shoot after strenuous exercise is insane.
Table Tennis is surprisingly (to Americans) one of the most participated sports in the world. We Americans funnel our best athletes elsewhere, but around the world the best TT players earn over $100,000 PER MONTH in salaries and prize money. And the reaction times/reads of the best are simply out of this world. This sport is only 'underrated' in the US....
Archery would be interesting if they just presented it as an over the shoulder camera angle. Having a close up of the face and a close up of the target tells me nothing about how difficult the shot is to take.
personally for me, im looking forward to anything denmark is competing in. being horseback riding 🏇, skateboarding (yes, there in fact is a danish guy attending on wednesday i believe, in the street skating) 🛹, rowning, badminton, tennis 🥎, handball you name it! and that is counting for the olympics, as well as the para games
Currently watching the handball on Eurosport and I'm glued to it. The only sport I can compare it to is an Irish sport called hurling. It's just end to end action.
Modern pentathlon with show jumping on horses a rider has never ridden is crazy!!! The horse and rider do better when there’s a connection and you know how your horse reacts, where they need more encouragement, if you can take a stride out in a tight turn to finish faster, etc.
Even then, trampoline and synchronized swimming only ever have one or two days dedicated to it. One could possibly also add surfing to this list, even if it was only introduced during Tokyo three years ago.
When it comes to underrated sports you basically have to just say every sport that isn't basketball, swimming, soccer (football) and gymnastics. All the sports mentioned here, plus all the sailling events, all the cycling events, the jumping or distance events in track and field, the climbing events. There are just so many great events to get invested in, 2 weeks isn't enough to take it all in. Except break dancing, they can keep that one.
As an equestrian, of course our disciplines. But I'd like to see more horses enjoying their job and riders helping to facilitate that, rather than what we've been accustomed to seeing lately. And the equestrian part of the pentathlon just needs to go. Not fair for the horses
For me the scariest sport to watch but i did the last wintergames because as the netherlands we won bronze👍 and almost all medialles are for slating, so ❤ when we win in a different sport……but it looks so scary!
I'm shocked by anyone who can follow the ball with their own eyes in table tennis. Don't let watching on TV fool you; in real time, that ball is _extremely_ fast.
@@anubis520 That would have been true when the summer and winter games were in sync (1924-1992); since then, though, the summer and winter games are in separate 4 year cycles, so I look at each one separately
Equestrian events need to be discontinued from the Olympics. Their teams don't consist of the best riders, just the best of those riders able to afford to ship their horses to another country.
I don’t even care much for the Olympics, I want the United States to win the gold. I just watch basketball and water polo for Summer and I watch hockey for Winter.
Their is such a misconception about table tennis for anyone who's not into it Theirs this stereotype that it's just 2 players slowly tip tapping the ball to each other and it's really boring. But no, proper table tennis isn't like that. They absolutely ram the ball at each other at insane speeds. Reactions are incredible too
Handball isn't popular in the US, cause that's not what handball is to Americans. Handball to us involves 2-4 people on the court. The court is basically 1/2 of tennis court with a wall replacing the net. If it's 4 players, it's a 2 on 2 game, with each player or teams, like tennis, taking turns to hit the ball. The ball is also MUCH different.
The list can`t be any worse. To exclude sports like bihatlon and skicross and have handball at no.1 is a crime. Handball is a sport without emotions if not its a tight game in the end but for 55 minutes you don`t care if your team scores or the other team. Sports with to mant goals takes away emotions. But biathlon is a sport that will get you nervous for every shot taken and see your self screaming in your chair.
I really enjoyed watching rugby. A bit baffled the US doesn’t dominate in this considering how similar it is to American football. Speed walking, rhythmic gymnastics, “horse prancing” and synchronized swimming seems silly to me. Enjoy getting to see sports like ping pong, rowing and badminton.
I know I will be cheering on these amazing Olympians while sitting on my fat butt and eating chips. And Break Dancing is now an Olympic event? I got my six pack ready - of beer that is.

I try & watch every sport. It took these athletes years to perfect their craft. The least we could do is watch them. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Team handball when seen in a sports bar is instantly liked
Not sure if it’s considered underrated, but Water Polo to me is super cool to watch
Except when the horses drown. That is really sad. 😉
Looks nice :)
@@Bintexasayyyyyy!! I C what ya did, mah boi!

badminton is low-key the most underrated sports. fun to play and watch
Love seeing the spotlight on lesser-known sports! 🙌🏅

Curling is great for spectators

this is one of the best comments I’ve ever read, and also thank you for the idea 😂
NOW THEY SHOULD DO TOP 10 SPORTS THAT SHOULD BE IN THE OLYMPICS!
Badminton is way cool to watch! Fast paced and full of skill! I loved playing the sport and enjoy watching it!
Mountain biking and BMX racing definitely deserve to be here
They’re rated where they should be…this is about underrated sports

Badminton is on another level in Olympics
The trampoline looks like fun 😊
@@CandiceVidito exactly and you should look into a trampoline park in your town. Those are fun

IMHO water polo is the most underrated

Personally, some Olympic sports that I think are very underrated are rifle, sport climbing, and biathlon. All three are awesome to watch
Modern pentathlon with show jumping on horses a rider has never ridden is crazy!!! The horse and rider do better when there’s a connection and you know how your horse reacts, where they need more encouragement, if you can take a stride out in a tight turn to finish faster, etc.
yes but unfortunately this was the last time we will see whos jumping in modern pentathalon.
Even then, trampoline and synchronized swimming only ever have one or two days dedicated to it. One could possibly also add surfing to this list, even if it was only introduced during Tokyo three years ago.
Awesome list let the games begin 👏 👏👏 and one my favourite is artist swimming 🔥❤
Hand Ball and skeleton are my favorites out of these events
Love rugby 7s. Skeleton is insane! Love winter biathlon!! .
Handball sounds like its a mix of Futbol and Basketball for some reason
3-on-3 basketball was pretty cool for the 2024 games
Thank you for including trampoline in your video

Badminton is so underrated (not in Asia or Denmark). It's a sport of skill, power, speed, and strategy.
I wish NBC here in the US would actually AIR some of these events on their main channels instead of some dinky little unknown channel at 2am.
where and how do they even practice for skeleton? like I’ve never seen or heard of a place that is equipped for that. it looks so fun though
None of these sports are underrated. It's just the US doesn't play or can't play. That's why they are calling it underrated.
Sepak Takraw should be in the Olympics.
Modern Pentathlon is one of the sports I wish I could practice and win an Olympic gold medal for Mexico that and Skeleton or Biathlon.
Schpupel never got beyond the exhibition level much to the chagrin of Swedish champion Fjurg Van Der Ploeg.
rugby sevens is awesome

I’m sure pickleball will be on this list in the future.
I think curling is one of the best olympic sports. i wish it would become more mainstream so i don't have to wait four years between viewings.
Volleyball. It's insane at the highest level.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! Trampoline is the most interesting sports to watch on the list.
Volleyball
biathlon is extremly underrated sport
Man skeleton looks terrifying and looks so difficult
I'm shocked by anyone who can follow the ball with their own eyes in table tennis. Don't let watching on TV fool you; in real time, that ball is _extremely_ fast.
You forgot climbing
I watch it first time i really enjoyed with it
water balley - mesmerising
It’s like a 1930s Busby Berkeley musical, very camp.
The Olympics: two weeks of sports that people don't care about the other three years and fifty weeks (with some exceptions)

Any event where judges decide the winner is not a sport and shouldn’t be in the Olympics!
Equestrian events need to be discontinued from the Olympics. Their teams don't consist of the best riders, just the best of those riders able to afford to ship their horses to another country.
Ping Pong and Table Tennis are actually two different sports.
Handball is mini basketball

In my opinion, all Olympic sports are OVERRATED.
I’m sure they have a Top 10 Overrated Olympic Events list, and I for one would put Curling 🥌 on top of that list
