    Bought a bottle of this the other day based on your review. I’m new to gin and is only my second bottle (after Bombay Sapphire, which I actually liked) and man is this Martin Miller’s nice. I found you can drink this quite strong though. The liquorice note right at the end is nice. Thanks for the review. Any more you could recommend I’d like to hear it as I said, I’m new to Gin? 👍🏼 cheers

      Hey Ryan! Thanks for your message and welcome to my channel my friend! So Glad you like the Martin Millers. If you are new to gin then i would definitely recomend Beefeater and its big brother , Beefeater 24. Also Tanqueray and Tanqueray 10. Those are the best of the mainstream gins. Can I ask where bouts in the world you are?

    • @rlitster
      @rlitster 4 года назад +2

      Thanks Bobby. I hear good things about both Beefeater and Tanqueray so one of those might be my next try. I’m from Ayrshire, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (particularly like the Scottish Accent on the Botanist and Hendricks reviews 😂) is there any Gins that stand out in your mind out with what maybe considered mainstream that you really like?

      So glad you liked the accent! I haven't offended anyone yet with my accents but it's only a matter of time! 😂
      The good news is you're in the UK so your choice is huge and you should be able to get almost every gin that I have featured on the channel.
      as far as mainstream gins go, apart from the ones I have mentioned, Sipsmith's is very good as is Brokers. Both good solid London dry gins. Malfy is also very nice and does a variety of different flavours. Also, my guilty pleasure is the Beefeater strawberry. If you want a good cheap gin then Lidl do one called Hampstead gin which is amazing and under £10!
      Hope that helps!
      👍👍👍

      Haha you definitely didn’t offend me, I was laughing 😂. Thanks some great info on Gins to try, thank you. One thing I’ve noticed is an array of gins that are available so looking forward to trying some that you’ve mentioned/reviewed. Thanks again for replying with some helpful information. Great channel for someone like me who’s new to Gin. I’m definitely enjoying the Martin Miller’s based on your video so thank you 👍🏼

    Yeah, I remember this was reviewed years ago by the Evening Standard newspaper. It was mentioned that you could drink it straight - no need for a mixer(hence the Icelandic water used in it). It seemed to be only sold in Oddbins(now defunct) back in the day. Nice stuff. I think there's a stronger version available, and also a Pink Grapefruit edition.

  • @budpurps
    @budpurps 4 года назад +3

    millers is good, but the "westbourne strength" is THE definitive millers gin. it is smooth, sweet, and easy to drink straight from the bottle or mix with your favorite mixer.

    I haven't had this gin for a long while, my liquor store stopped carrying it unfortunately......you reminded me of how good it is, Bobby. Extremely well balanced, and smoooooooth as silk! Going to have to search for it; thanks to you I have a hankering for it now!

    I bought a bottle of this a few weeks ago and I have just started drinking it. The flavors are very light sunny but can be overwhelmed by some of the mixers. Great review. Enjoy

    Martin Miller's is my second favourite "premium" gin after Mombasa. They are very different but equally delicious.
    And I'm quite surprised it took you so long to try this gin or that you hadn't heard good things about it earlier. Here in my country it's relatively well-known and appreciated by people who enjoy high-quality gin, but I guess the UK market must be saturated with too many different brands.
    Greetings from sunny southern Spain ;)

    I had a bottle of this. I thought it was easily over-powered by tonic water or in a Negroni, my 2 favorite ways to drink gin. So I used this to make Martinis. Very soft and easy to drink.

    I love gin, especially the likes of Hendricks, Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire...but this Martin Miller gin is HORRIBLE! It smells (and tastes) exactly the same as a Ted Baker aftershave I've got. Yes, you read that correctly. It smells identical...and tastes how it smells...to a Ted Baker aftershave. Therefore drinking it utterly repulses me.
