Indeed. Everything is considered a mental illness, and every kid is expected to be more and more A4. Whoever wants to do their own thing is considered messed up.
And that's what Alex is referring to at 6:17 when he comments about the older generation bitching about kids messing things up, but the older generation was the ones responsible for raising the kids in the first place.
Lion and Outside are two amazing tracks by them! Highly recommend both. They are very deep and serene almost. Love your reaction. And a very accurate interpretation
Fun fact, this was actually the song that got me into Hollywood undead. I had heard undead before and songs like everywhere I go at parties and whatnot, but when sat down and listened to this I was like "Oh shit!! Okay, these guys may be worth checking out" and now they're one of my favorite bands
BRO SAME I heard my sister put it on one time and as I got into them I realized how many songs I've heard before. Same thing happened to me with Slipknot as well.
As that 1 tumblr post said years ago, Hollywood Undead has 3 different types of songs; Aggressive, Depressive, and Festive (and Political but people like to skim over that like they do with SOAD). It what makes them great artists, is the ability to tell stories and form connections from many different points a view -a core part of every artistic outlet.
That's one of the reasons I come back to his channel every night. It's not just kids watching videos and stopping it every 10 seconds (annoying! LOL). That and he's funny as hell!
@Monkeypox (Nigerian flu) Deuce was the original singer for Hollywood Undead, but he was fired after their first album and replaced by Danny (current singer)
This was the first song I’d ever heard by them. 12 years later and I now have 3 tattoos for this band alone on my left arm. So many meet & greets and VIP experiences getting to know them personally. Absolutely the best band ever!
This was the song that absolutely sold me on this fucking band back in highschool and it’s still one of my favorite songs, and it’s really aged well because it’s becoming truer and truer in today’s age
Me and my friends used to put this album on blast. All of us from broken families and felt the was world against us. Hollywood undead was our way of coping with our struggles. Swan songs still one of my fav albums to this day. Now some of us are getting married and having kids. Miss those days.
An Undead Soldier here. I recommend: Whatever it Takes, City, Lion, Been to Hell, California Dreaming, and Heart of a Champion! These songs all have a nice balance between rock and rap!
I used to use "Comin' in Hot" for my credit song on my videos. I fell in love with them the first time I heard them! Saw them live 2 years ago for the first time and they are A LOT OF FUN to see live too!! They are amazing all around!
The more I watch your channel the more I realise how similar our music tastes are. It's just comforting that there is someone who has the same emotions and feelings while listening to music as I do. Thank you for putting these videos out here
Also I love your videos so much they help me through my darkest days and actually make me smile when I think I can’t anymore so I truly appreciate you and your vids everyday thankyou for being you and continue with being as amazing as you are!
bro, more hollywood undead songs: -City -the diary -coming back down -from the ground -pray -bang bang -your life -california dreaming and their newest song: coming home
thanks for doing this... i saw them live in austria - before corona hit us all... i just wanna tell you to see them live whenever you can... soooo much energy - kind of therapy for me... 🖤🤘🏻
I see many people mentioning songs from American Tragedy and Notes from the Underground and I wanna cry. Can’t believe it’s been 9 and 7 years since they were released...
Fun fact, Hollywood undead allowed their fans to send in pictures of themselves wearing masks of their own and they would be featured in an upcoming song (Young). All of those pictures of people in masks are fans of the band.
Oh man!!!! I forget how amazing they are. It's been years since I heard the song. Thanks. I needed to hear that in this crazy time in this world. Thanks AHef.
So.. I’ve got to say this I’m a recovering addict and drugs stole a lot from me including my love for music but ever sense I found these reactions videos and man you have revitalized my love for music I’ve been listening to more and more songs lately, I felt that after all the dope in my life music went with it to much but this has brought music back to my life thank you so much keep going on these great videos!!!
I also loved that what they did for this video was send out a message to their fans saying “hey send us pictures of you guys in your masks we need them for the Young music video.” It was great
They have so many different themes and vibes and because every member of the band does vocals, they are always switching up who works with who on the lyrics or solo songs, everyone has a position but they always mix things up it's given them a ton of of options creatively.
God help me, 2008 and this song still fucking gives me goosebumps. The best way I ever heard their music described, I think it was J3T that said it early on; "You can go and get drunk to us, you can come home and blow your brains out to us" They captured what it felt like to be a kid in this fucked up world so well, it's fucking criminal.
I still remember when I first showed this song to my brother. To this date eight years later, he still stands by the opinion that this is Hollywood Undead's best song.
So true dude ...I just turned 49 in July (still doesn't sound right in my head) and I'm still very much a child at heart.. I remember when this album came out. Their first album and arguably probably their best album. This song gives me chills every time. Just something about it.
The guy at the first verse is named Deuce. Hes no longer with the band. He got kicked out. They have a new guy named Danny. He has a great voice as well!

Seeing them in concert is a memory I cherrish all around theyre a great band
Comin' in Hot from them was our "let's go party after finishing drinking at someone's place" song during most of uni. Other songs I like from them (not all, not in order): War Child, My Town, Another Way Out, Been to Hell, Usual Suspects, Gravity.
“Medication for the kids with no reason to live” is such a powerful line.
Indeed. Everything is considered a mental illness, and every kid is expected to be more and more A4. Whoever wants to do their own thing is considered messed up.
It's a great line because it is true. No idea how to deal with a kid? Throw drugs at them. Wrong answer, in my opinion
Sang that to myself all time when I was a kid
It had a lot more power back in the 90s when parents were using Prozac as a substitution for parenting.
It's more than a line.
More Hollywood Undead:
- The Diary
- City
- No. 5
- Comin' in Hot
- Gangsta Sexy
- Apologize
- I don't wanna die
City is probably one of my top 3 maybe second
City is definitely top 3
Bang Bang is top to
My Black Dahlia is one of my all time favorites
Throw in Gravity, Levitate, Day of the Dead, and War Child. That entire album gets overlooked
"Yes, we wave this flag of hatred, but you're the ones who made it" - love this verse. So accurate.
And that's what Alex is referring to at 6:17 when he comments about the older generation bitching about kids messing things up, but the older generation was the ones responsible for raising the kids in the first place.
You should check out Hollywood Undead "City"

People skim over SOAD being political? How? Do they just not listen to them? Lol
Alex: dude Hollywood Undead makes lyrics that fit the instrumentals so well
Hollywood Undead: bullet
They fit extremely well though, so I don't know what you're talking about
??? Literally has some of the best instrumentals though

Day of the Dead
It’s a song that talks about how people use religion and god for personal and monetary gain
This was the first song I’d ever heard by them. 12 years later and I now have 3 tattoos for this band alone on my left arm. So many meet & greets and VIP experiences getting to know them personally. Absolutely the best band ever!
My favorite time was at the Troubadour and they invited everyone to a house party the next evening in Venice that was in the audience, epic.
I went to that show as well, they did an after party at The Rainbow Bar off of Sunset. Did you make the listening party for Day of the Dead in Venice?
