Yesterday April 11th 2024 marked the beginning of an exciting journey for World Kiswahili Day, as we embarked on our inaugural expedition with great enthusiasm. Our first destination was the United Republic of Tanzania High Commission in London, located just a stone’s throw away from the prestigious London Marriott Grosvenor Square, where the Glittering Gala Swahili Evening will take place.
In the esteemed presence of His Excellency Mbelwa Brighton Kairuki, the High Commissioner of Tanzania to the UK, the atmosphere was charged with significance and anticipation.
Engaging with Balozi Kairuki was a genuine honour, and we were delighted to extend to him the official invitation to the upcoming World Kiswahili Day event. Balozi Kairuki expressed his enthusiastic support and partnership for World Kiswahili Day, further solidifying the bond between our initiatives.
His endorsement and collaboration are invaluable as we work towards making this event a resounding success.
Following our meeting at the Tanzania High Commission, we crossed the road to meet with our event manager, Maria Giovanna, at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square.
Together, we began laying the groundwork for the Big Beautiful Swahili Evening, ensuring that every detail is meticulously planned for an unforgettable experience.
The journey has just begun, and we are eager to continue spreading the richness and vibrancy of Kiswahili culture as we move forward.
