There is a reason why the fight scenes are much more grounded and realistic when Vijay is Parthiban and a bit over the top when he is Leo. All the scenes about Leo are from D'Souza's point of view. He was embellishing things, leaving stuff out, adding stuff in. May be he was lying flat out.
One more thing I noticed, look at the way Vijay runs when he is Leo and when he is Parthiban. He has managed to portray two different aged characters perfectly.
