Excellent video. I purchased my first one online and it was rubbish, Just couldn't get it to cut continuously, so I made the first one you did a video on and it turned out to do an excellent Job so a big thumbs up to you.
Exactly, I got one from aliexpress and it doesn't cut correctly and in straight line, it eventually either tries to get too much width and clogs or it cuts too thin and eventually cut the string off.
@narendc07 I didn't, I made my own in the end following video instructions, and it cuts excellent. You can order from the guy but only a couple of ways that was no good to me. May work for you though.
So Impressive project and you did so much efforts for this.I really appreciate it!!! . Can u Plz make a Future Video on how to colour these filaments too. It will help alot. Thanks!!!
In my case, the screw-slit type is far more promising than the clamp one. I've got wide range of width from 2-7 mm with deviation as small as 0.5mm. The problem with the clamp is that the blade keeps falling out of the washers in between when cutting thicker bottles with a high pulling force on the blade. The key of getting the screw-slit to cut consistently without breaking is to place the blade at a slanted than a horizontal angle and fixed the blade 1-1.5cm from the front edge of the slits. Having too short or long feed length into the blade will give uneven cut thus breaking the string when cutting a thin width. One could also check that the depth is equal and even along when sawing the slits by sliding the blade in between them. The shape thus circumference of the bottle can vary as there aren't many bottles without a neck around its cap, so it is recommendable to make a thin cut say 2-3mm from the bottom of the bottle when the circumference is consistent and doesn't break frequently so you can get some amount of thin strings. As you go up around near the neck where the circumference could get smaller, it would be easier to make a thick cut say 5mm without breaking to get some amount of thick strings. Use a plier instead of your finger to pull the string and when you hear a squeky sound when the cut is made that tells you the blade is in the for the right angle. Many thanks for uploading the video. No more wasted soda bottles. Wooohoooo 👍👍👍
Excellent ..Simple but effective.... Im very new at recycling pets for flameting. İn order to obtain 1.75 mm flament what should be the hight of pet band 3mm-4mm-5 mm..
Q: any method to calculate tensile strength of filament? or has someone simply tested various widths onto destruction of dangling ever increasing weights?
What if we put these cut PET bottles directly into the 3D printer nozzle? What if we cut them to a size that is sufficient, without turning them into filament?
Hi, I did the second one but couldn't get too much 'cause it always break so I can't have a long wire, I'm only getting slices. Do you know what should I do?

Thanks for tutoring
I had a question, how many millimeters should the diameter of the washers be?
