I don't know if you mentioned or not.. but there is a 10 minute delay after you host it. I spent 10 minutes wondering why it didn't work only to read the docs and find out that it takes 10 minutes to fully host... :D
Thank you so much! Your tutorials helped me get through school. Of course I wished I could have used you the entire course! Thank you, truly! I can't express to you the depth of how important your teachings are to me and I'm sure many others.
so github page hosting has become way so easy than before, I used to create a 'gh-pages' branch, delete master branch stuff like that, but now it evolves a lot, I think github is inspired by Netlify, Vecel because they make hosting so much easier, like a no-brainer, we can easily deploy web apps with their services without going through configurations, thank you Shaun for this informative tutorial !!!
I've thought about watching his basic tutorials on subjects I've worked with for a long time. Just so see if there's anything I've missed, or could improve upon.
Absolutely brilliant instruction step by step video. Thank you so much. As a Newbie and needing a testing website for a project I want to show off to the Dev teams, this was a great starting point for me. Thank you. Going to do your Git course next lol
Hey Man , Nice tutorial about Github pages and How to Host a Site On Github pages and more information , also you explain Switching branches and creating braanches in Short length video Keep it up Man ❤👍
you just save my time from studying the documentation. Love your content and your way of teaching that's the way of a true Ninja ! Stay safe and more content to come. Much love from PH
Thanks for telling about that index file trick, i needed it. i've been trying for some time but couldn't make it because of that problem. Thank you so much ;)
It does matter whether its private or public @NetNinja cause unless you have github pro, a private repo can't be used to form a page through github pages
This guy is great. Thanks for the videos. Before now, I had watched several react videos, but after watching your new series, it was so easy for me to pick it up. Thanks a lot. Just a side request: can you make a video on Python (for backend) and Redux? Thanks.
Thank you very much for the tutorial, it looks simpler than I thought! However it seems (at least now) it matters whether the repository is public or not because for a free account it's only possible if the repo is public.
I was using your tutorial today as I had a fullstack development course (also 2 years old) showing how to host a HTML file on GitHub and after creating the index.html file then going to settings @3:32 there is no section showing GitHub pages. Has GitHub changed the way GitHub pages works or does the GitHub website not funcation correctly? Any reply greatly appreciated.
Not if it's made with Node.js (see: stackoverflow.com/questions/15718649/how-to-publish-a-website-made-by-node-js-to-github-pages ) You're not the only one disappointed if such was your intention.
One question... why does the contact page link need superninja/contact to be referenced from index while styles.css does not? Would we not normally expect root/index.html root/styles.css and root/contact.html to all be at the same level? In the directory structure, styles and contact are at the same level?
Hey i have a question, if i build , a React JS App, and run 'build', and upload just the build folder to the repo, then i guess i can serve it as a static website, cause the build folder has a "index.html".?....👍
That would be awesome, I think Nextjs makes this much easier, you should use Nextjs to build jamstack / fullstack project, I love it so much and It makes learning nodejs backend much easier !!!
thank you, that was helpful and shed light on the fog made me feel good that I can write key points down and apply them, where as my bootcamp is raping my soul.
I wish I could feel more part of your gang but here in the states we have G.R.E.A.T(Gang Resistant Education And Training) but I will say the your Vue course on Udemy is top notch.
I had issues with the branch for people having issues with that you can do it without creating a new branch. Also the css can take a while to update go and clear cookies this should help make you see the changes.
Best ninja teacher on RUclips ...... Much love from Egypt 🇪🇬

Your videos are ALWAYS brilliant. Love your style and completeness.

Great to hear!
I like your Ninja Techniques , they are very helpful thanks
Do you have any information on how to use GitHub Pages to deploy subdirectory files that is in the root ?
Thanks Shaun for sharing this very useful and helpful knowledge.
Thank you very much for the tutorial, it looks simpler than I thought! However it seems (at least now) it matters whether the repository is public or not because for a free account it's only possible if the repo is public.
This is a life saver. One question though, does github pages support node.js files?
That was exactly what I was looking for, thanks it helped a ton!
Github pages section in the settings for me was; In the left side options, in the code and automation section, click on pages

Fantastic video. New to pages, so very useful indeed. Thanks so much.
Is this also possible with a react or vue application?
Not if it's made with Node.js (see: stackoverflow.com/questions/15718649/how-to-publish-a-website-made-by-node-js-to-github-pages )
You're not the only one disappointed if such was your intention.
yes
Thanks Man, its easy to understand.
Glad to hear that! Thanks for watching Naveen :)

Glad it was helpful! :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
A GitHub Actions crash course and the “git-flow” method of managing a project would be amazing!
Should we expect a redux playlist? Or go on with the old one to learn?
That would be awesome, this topic is highly asked !!!
@@maskman4821 yeah man. It would be a heavenly feeling if Shaun takes up a new playlist on redux 😍😍
This helped a lot, thanks!
Glad it helped! :) thanks for watching

love the 8bit intro
Thanks !!!! you have a new subscriber!!!
Just tried the private setting on the repository. It doesn't allow to create GitHub pages unless made public.

I wish I could feel more part of your gang but here in the states we have G.R.E.A.T(Gang Resistant Education And Training) but I will say the your Vue course on Udemy is top notch.
tha's the best vuejs course anyone could ever have !!!
Is it better to just use the /docs folder to keep the website stuff separate rather than managing another branch?
Amazing lesson!
Thanks for the tutorial it help me a lot 🇱🇷🇱🇷
No problem 👍 glad it helped :)
Great video and very helpful, thank you!
You're very welcome!

there must be a feature in youtube to like all the videos at once! i would definitely do that!
I had issues with the branch for people having issues with that you can do it without creating a new branch.
