I haven’t got to the comparison, part of the video yet. But I can already tell how it will be the HKS ones are always more tame! In the steel absorbs more of the tone. Tit makes more of an echo.
What's the biggest difference sound wise would you say? The hks sounds more refined the tomei almost sounds more rough ? Only down low tho, then once you Rev it the tone changes in favour of the tomei
Also I see the R888Rs. I fell in love w the 335s size I put on my cobra. I was the one who posted about trimming the fenders as well on Facebook you commented on! Do you think 335s will fit these cars? With the right offset and fenders modded? I’ll be running 315s this year just because I had them left over on the rear wheels I’m using that I built for the car. But just planning ahead who knows how this year will go . I’m keeping it 30bolt 17” in rear and 18 front. But only due to having the tires to burn off it lol I’ll modify them to 18 rear for next year. Hence the 335 question!
And also , I don’t know if you’re like me. But I pick up lots of details, my friends, and other people usually look over. Have you ever seen the 305 size version for r888r with the 35 side wall I believe? 🧐 It’s nasty looking! They almost look more aggressive than the 315 size because it drops it to a 30 sidewall on those! They just look beefy! I’ll have to send you a photo on social media so you can see! Just wish they made a 315 35 haha But that’s why I went big and said screw it, 335s it is! And having a supra, he needs to have just as an aggressive set up as my Cobra did ! I’m friends with some of the top wheel distributors. And my buddy from Boston showed me the other day, how Supra guys fit even larger sizes than 335s! 😮… end it involves cutting into the inner portion of the rear fender, and then modifying something. Then you gotta close it up and weld a new piece of metal on it! But I don’t know if I wanna go that far. I kind of plan to have the car forever, but you know how life is. So I didn’t want to go too crazy with modifications that are a done deal. Once you do them, you can’t go back you know ! Cutting rear fender instead of rolling is one thing. That doesn’t bother me as much because I feel like it’s a necessity. Should’ve came that way from the factory . plus I plan to get my car painted over in the next few years so I’m not concerned about rust.
Wait wait wait @8:30…: you’re telling me you can get those rubber donut hangers at a local auto parts store???? I didn’t know that lol on my last supra that was right hand drive that I sold a temporary made a hanger out of this thick wire. I use at my job since I do electrical. 😂 Because like an idiot when I first got the car and didn’t know about things when I sold the HKS exhaust I left those on there! I’m pretty sure I have two sets now ! 😊 which is nice because I’m only human so I could mess up again and lose them in the future

If anyone haven’t heard a full tomei in person the microphone cannot convey the resonance properly from the tomei titanium. It’s better and light than the hks trust me I have both. I’m a hks guy with original hks and trd exhaust however the tomei is one of the best in the business for engines and exhaust

It’s nice the tomei is ti the whole way back be the HKS the muffler is the only thing titanium. Hks cheaped out on us which is annoying.
