i love how most of the shortcuts from wii and dd are in the mk8 version

@@yellowmarshmellowgang im talking abt the half pipe cut when you go up the half pipe in wii and stay tight to the corner. and ridding on the wall beside the mud in double dash which is also in 8. and this shortcut is similar to the respon glitch in double dash
@@liamSp_ That's not necessarily a shortcut since that's just there to stop you from flying off the opposite direction while tricking
The main problem with this is that you have too much speed entering the next turn. On my best run of this, I caught the rail just enough to slow me down to get a nice turn and go faster than the wr. Please leave your ideas in the comments!
Would brake drifting help?
@@guakumole5167 I have tried that and it does seem to help a little. It’s just that the boost panel wouldn’t have enough effect to actually save time
What if you didn’t trick on the boost pad and only use the boost?
I might try that since that could catch the rail and slow me down enough to still be faster. Thanks for the suggestion!

I discovered the shortcut in Dry Dry Ruins myself (I think that's the map), it was only a few months ago and yes I realize it's long been found lol.
Whichever sandy map has the quarter pipe you ride up to the right, trick, and it bends you around the corner then you do an immediate right drift.
Now I keep finding these incredible videos after the fact. I'll never assume what I find is special again, always check youtube xD

This was found day 1 btw. and the WR holder said it's slower (and also it's just trash to get consistent), maybe one day it's faster because no one tried it but you would need to find a consistent setup and have it be faster at the same time but currently I don't see it being implemented on 200cc.
But you never know it has potential atleast, still a nice find

Maybe at the same number of coins it would be even
the coins dont speed you up until youre at 10 i dont think?
I know that in MK8U you had a 8% speed boost at 10 coins and it was the only boost that you could obtain from coins.
I heard from the World Friend Channel that the gap jump was easier with 6 coins than with 3, so I guess it’s different in this game. I also noticed that some WR in this game don’t collect 10 coins.
@@BIGpony777 they speed you up no matter the amount, but It is more significant with 10 than with 5 for example. However, there is a big difference for sure, when it comes to 0 coins vs lets say 3, because overtime, the speed you'd increase with 0, will multiply by, lets say 2%, per frame when you have 3
On my best run, form the piranha plant thing to the end coin, it took 7.989 seconds roughly, and the wr took 7.95 seconds. Although it is slower, it could be optimised to be faster

New strat? I’ve been doing this since it came out. I will say they did make it cleaner though.
