Colchester to Woody Cape beach measures approximately 60 kilometers in length. I fly over this stretch regularly and it is completely unspoilt. The sand dunes at Woody Cape are almost 320ft in height above sea level. Woody Cape forms part of the greater Addo Park. Camping at Woody Cape is possible in a chalet. My German cousin and his wife walked the 16 mile beach. We collected them in the National Park at the end of their walk. That was January this year. My nephew has the Wright's craft gin distillery at the Padstal. Worth a visit.
How did the permit work to go out of the park? Or did yiu just pick them up and drive out? When I called the park they said it was illegal to walk all the way from Yzerfontein to the park. 🤔 We ended up not walking the beach 😢
So true - I hope people will see these videos and get out there and explore. As I often say in the videos, you can't capture the smells, and feelings - it has to be experienced.
By which matrix is this deemed the longest beach in South Africa? It seems like you ended up speaking to the only people in Yzerfontein who do not know where the tractor on the beach are. Its such a well known landmark.

@duvancilliers266 Yea that is a bit tricky. My wife drove in and picked us up and we all have Wild Cards which gives
us free access.

Most of us don't have the money to do something like this. Travel is *prohibitively expensive*.

You have to take a dip!!!
Should have but was just focused on getting to the end. Wasn’t sure if we would get stuck by tides but many amazing places to swim.

I have found out that the rabies can spread of others wildlife come into contact with seals who have rabies.
There is confirmed outbreak of rabies amongst west coast seals
