Watching this made me think, what is marriage in our desi culture?? A girl told by the husband before marriage that she needs to learn how to cook. And a 16 years old girl was given into this family to be their cook. She gave birth to children which were raised by mother and sister in law. She spent all her life doing khidmat of susraalis. What do the girls get back in return? 2 waqt kee roti and shelter.

@@aminazehra1783 yes, i understand. I am a mother of a young woman as well. The reality is that we dont raise our girls to be able to take care of themsleves and be on their feet financially if something bad happens (e.g divorce). We raise them to get them married. All they know is how to cook, clean and do khidmat of others. They are not trained in any other skill or career which can help them earn and not being dependent on anyone for their basic financial needs.
There is nothing to feel proud about giving your 16 years old child to someone to be their full-time maid and live rest of her life according to her husband and in-laws wishes.
As long as she is married, she is a valuable person in the society, if she is divorced, society does not have respect for them.
