They have to adjust not having you there too, and then when they hear your voice and they feel your love, then because they realise your absence they react to their feeling by snap at you. Having a break from the kids, gives you time to regenerate. Plus it gives the kids the chance to experience a different environment. When they leave home, change schools, go on school trips, it should never be a drama.

Just dont make your kids feel guilty. Let them have fun and let them tell you on their own time what they did while gone. I went through this. It is not easy because you didnt want to end up splitting the kids to begin with. So just relax, everything will be fine. Let them just be kids with no questions or no pressure. They will talk when they feel they are not quilty for not being with you. Janni, you are the real mother. Your not fake. It shows. 🤗

They probably don’t understand their feelings. They’re still processing and understanding that mummy isn’t where daddy is. As others have said, hearing your voice is probably unsettling.I think that’s natural and normal. It’s the old saying when kids can’t tell us they show us.
I prefer old houses over new "modern" ones. They are a lot more cozy. Their view from the living room is very nice. But the bedroom for one of the kids is really tiny 😬

I’ve been watching Janni since Monaco, and it broke my heart when she and Jon announced the divorce. It broke my heart even more to see the hate she got, and even MORE when Jon didn’t stand up for her! This time has passed and here she is, still struggling (emotionally with the aftermath of a divorce when children are involved) and being honest about it! while the other party continues to work really hard to be the star of the show and present a fake life. The courage it took for her to end that relationship KNOWING! the pain and that she would have to separate from her children for days, is unmeasurable. And the fact that people like you have the guts to say those things just shows you are either a psychological abuser or you are being psychologically abused. Get help! Janni, I have boys similar in age to yours, been blessed with a happy marriage and stable home. When the oldest (Leon’s age) is over at my parents house for a couple of days, he acts the same way as Leia and I feel the same way as you. But think it is a personality thing. I think he is attached to me and doesn’t want to deal with the emotion of “missing mom” so instead chooses to ignore me! ❤❤
