People that haven't owned a pet don't realize how hard it really is to loose one. It's your family. I'm so sorry.
Depends on what type of pet you got too. When my Guinea pig died after 1.5 year I didn’t cry or even make a huge deal because he is a Guinea pig. I can always buy more Guinea pigs.
Some people and cultures just don't react the same way, whether you've owned one or not.
So true, I lost my dog last year on April. She was a beautiful soul, really gentle around kids yet guarded my home regardless of the circumstances. RIP Amber

Fuck that. Call me a psycho, i’ve had multiple pets, took care of them good, the only loss that actually felt hard for me to get over was the time someone poisoned my cat, and he was dying a horribly painfull death, and had to endure the whole night before the vet would open up to put him down. Oh bwoy i was even considering doing it myself that night, seeing how much in pain he was. The rest of them obviously was sad as well, but i quite just don’t think i would grieve after an animal. That doesnt seem for me like a sane thing to do.
I just lost my dog of 16 years in December. These fur babies don't get to spend enough time with us but the imprint of love they leave on our hearts lasts forever. ❤❤

Exactly they are family. I had two rabbits and when they passed I was so shaken up. I miss my girls, they were the best. I understand the pain of loss.

@@justbreathedaily6172 I'm not really sure, but I guess cry as much as you need to. Go out and get distracted to keep your mind from thinking about it for atleast a little bit. It gets better though. But you definitely never stop missing them.

Hurts like nobody who hasn't been through it would ever understand! We lost our family dog after so much at 18 years old and it hurts like hell! I'm so sorry for your loss. It's never easy. I own sooo many pets, and it never ever gets easier when one of em has to go.
One thing that helps ease the mind is remembering how much of a good life you gave your loved doggy.
Sure he spent his life full of cuddles, love, a full belly, and a comfy bed to sleep on everyday of his life. You gave him a good life and he knew that! Best wishes ❤️
Thing is, he spent every day of his life being loved by you Kate, and the bond you two share is something time will never be able to take away. You gave him everything and will always be with you.

So sorry for your lost Kate. The pain! I’ve been there. I lost my baby in December of 2021. Had him for 12 years. He was the last gift I got from my grandmother before she passed so the hurt was twice as bad. Non pet owners think we exaggerate but they just don’t understand that our pets are apart of our family. Some even see consider their pets as their child/fur babies. And To have a pet apart of your life everyday for years and they’re suddenly not there anymore is devastating.
Can absolutely understand how you feel, I lost my dog of 10 years last year and was one of the hardest things to ever go through and I don't even think I'm over it now coming up to 10 months but all I can say that it does get easier going through life but it's a void that never gets filled, RIP Boris I'm sure you would've lived a wonderful life with Slaiman and Kate

So sorry that you're going through this... It definitely feels very raw for weeks after loosing a close pet, and we never really forget them, but it does get better. Also, I have to say, the way these two take care of each other through everything is just relationship goals...

Sorry for your loss guys… My beagle also passed away two weeks ago, so I guess Boris and Spotty are now both happy and playing together in dog’s heaven.
Dogs become part of our families and even though we love them with all our hearts, we’ll never love them as they love us. They have the biggest hearts ❤️ it’s so hard to loose a dog, however be sure that he was super happy with you and he loved you crazily! He’s so thankful to have been yours and to have received love. And don’t close your heart to having another pet because of the pain in these moments. Yes, it’s painful but it’s so worth it. For them and for you, too. Big hugs from Chihuahua, Mexico!

Almost the exact same thing happened with my Bella two days before new years!
She was totally healthy for a White German Shepherd at 7 years old.
She was playful, perky, nixxy, then the next day she started limping and then 2 days later she had absolutely no use of her hind legs and the vet told us that there was nothing they could do unfortunately because tests revealed that in addition to her legs, she was also suffering full kidney and liver failure!
She was my partner in crime for 7 years and I'm still trying to realize that she's not going to be at the door when I come home from work or class!
I know what you're going through Kate and I emphasize with you!
Please know you're not alone in your heartbreak and grief!

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I just lost my 12 year old pug about 3 weeks ago, and one of my baby chickens last week, so I definitely feel your heavy heart right now. Just know that they know that they're loved and will always have a place & be remembered in our hearts, that's the best honor we can give them.

I'm so sorry to hear about Boris! I can actually feel your pain. I have two that are up in years one with sleep apnea and heart problems the other, I call my little boy, as a nickname, with heart problems. He has to be touching me at all times and goes everywhere with me. He sticks to me like glue for real. They both do. I know that day will come for them too. It will kill me. This was hard to watch at the end when Slaiman found Boris for you. I remember watching that. It's just my belief, but I do fully believe our pets wait for us and are around us waiting for when our time comes. There is a reason I believe this, I won't get into that, but no one will ever convince me otherwise. Again, I'm so sorry about Boris.
Awwww! My Dog is also born in 2009 of November 1st! Makes me cry also to see this... We also consider these little ones to be our kiddos.. They are so huge in our lives and we are so huge to them in thers. Thanku for sharing and my heart breaks with yours.
Honestly, it’s one of the hardest things a person can go through: losing an animal. I’m sorry Katie. When they cross the rainbow bridge just know that you’ll see them one day. Pet’s are sometimes or most of the time more meaningful than actual people. animals have pure hearts, No matter what rich or poor especially a dog. they don’t know how to judge. Boris might have only been 12 years of your life but 12 years to Boris was his entire life. ❤️

I’m sorry for your loss. Same thing happened with my Lucky. He was fine on Friday and he died on a Sunday. Very sudden very fast but I’m glad he didn’t suffer 😢
