Stunning... absolutely lovin these vlogs... the only bit that gives me the creeps is the wide open sea...vast nothingness.. something eerie about it !!! The inlets and waterfulls are beautiful ... must vist oneday... 😊🇬🇧👍
I wouldn't fancy such as a transatlantic crossing, if im honest. On most regular cruises, you're never really far from a coastline.
Had to laugh at your comment about the 20 odd people in the pub doing the quiz. We’ve done the Fjords several times and sometimes we go on cruises just for the relaxation, onboard activities and food rather than the destination. It can be bliss staying onboard whilst everyone gets off and explores. My favourite Fjord cruises are during the midnight sun months where I can sit on the balcony for hours taking in the gorgeous scenery. During certain times/months of the year sunsets around 2am and rises again around 4am and its during this time that the scenery is absolutely stunning. Great vlogs!

Stunning videography, understandable the changes in plants are a bit of a downer. When you said “to make matters worse” , I was fully expecting a shot of a Gucci bag on Claire’s arm and the receipt proving the purchase 😂

Theres no end of them! We litterally were travelling down that fjord for 4 hours.
The problem with the lifeboats was that the tide was changing so there was a narrow window of time to leave the port. The captain was concerned that it would take too long to tender everyone back on board, creating a major safety issue if they couldn’t exit the port when they needed to. It was unfortunate but better safe than sorry. Captains don’t make those decisions lightly.

The scenery is tremendous. To bad about getting stuck on the ship with Nicky. Tough break Claire! 😂 Can only hope there was a good supply of budlight for ya.

So sorry you all couldn’t see Geiranger. Our Disney Adventure trip in 2019 was by coach, but we were on a ferry coming into the town and our coach took the road in. We stayed at the Hotel Union for two nights, hiked up to a goat farm and had one excursion to Lake Loen. We have considered doing a Norway cruise for another visit, but not sure I will convince Gretchen after your misfortune. 😢. You video work is still awesome!
It was still an awesome trip I'd recommend. My guess is that doesn't happen very often, and we were just unfortunate that day.

Beautiful videos of the scenery in the fjords. I really like your music pairings with these scenes. I wonder if Anthem doesn't normally tender they really weren't prepared to get it done.
I dont know, but the spent about 4 hours saying what they gonna do and coming up with different excuses throughout the day!
Hi N&C - OMG, I could fall in love with the scenery and views from the ship - the cliffs & waterfalls were quite amazing. I can't tell you how disappointed we were when you couldn't disembark - and to rub salt in the wound, seeing the other cruise ship tendering from their ship!🤬 Hopefully the next trek up the next river will work out. There was a slight silver lining that you got some of your fees refunded. Looking forward to the next vlog. Hugs to you both!!! 😎🛳❤

Great video and i love the footage you have captured. I recall this day only because I saw the Geiranger live web cam online and i knew there were "issues". Gutted for you guys not being able to get off the ship. If you really want to see what the rib tour was like, we put something together on our channel which is worth watching albeit nothing like actually experiencing the real thing. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip!

Oh guys, gutted that you lost part of your trip… nonetheless, another stunning vlog! The peaks and troughs of cruising hey! Really appreciate you showing the downs as well as the highs, although it still look bloody beautiful from where we were looking! Really don’t understand how another boat could safely tender and this ship couldn’t 🤯 Claire causally leaning on the Louis Vuitton counter, whilst contemplating visiting the Chanel store was brilliant! Fingers crossed you were able make the most of the rest of your trip ❤

Beautiful scenery love seeing all the waterfalls. Since you have video proof of tenders going from Holland ship think you should message some higher ups about their decision of not using tenders to get you off when another ship could. But hopefully you had a good time anyway on the ship. The real danger was Claire almost buying an expensive purse lol

Good video. Just watched as we do same port on Anthem in May. Hope they’ve sorted the issues. Seems odd they blamed the ramp issue on weather, and couldn’t tender as Holland America did.

Wonderful editing and choice of music. Kudos. I am contemplating taking this cruise in May 2024 but will only be able to get an inside cabin. Typically I avoid the Quantum and Oasis ships because they are designed with virtually no outside viewing areas. Would you recommend this trip for someone with an inside cabin?
Id always opt for a balcony personally, but it won't spoil the experience for you. theres loads of viewing spots on the upper decks and even inside, such as the 270, i was up early changing around to different places onboard.

Great videos! Our of curiosity what month were you sailing to Norway? We are booked next June in Anthem to Norway.
It is a bummer when ports get cancelled; especially when one has excursions booked; however that is the occasional challenge with cruising. What drone do you use?

@@nickyfurmage One additional question on your DJI Mini 2 did you do any higher than 500M footage? Here in the states it is possible with the DJI Mini 3 Pro to go much higher with updated settings and firmware.
We sail to Bermuda at the end of this month, which will be all low level footage.

@James-it4cz You won't be going 500m high mate very unlikely, i only take mine to around 100 max, you dont need to really especially when your somewhere high up. Theres also the legal parameters to be cautions of too.

My cruise on Anthem of the Seas is going to Alesund. Will we sail through this fjord?
Alesund is at the mouth of the fjord on the coast, so i dont think so unless geiranger is on the itinerary.

Late winter/spring
So close and yet so fjar. Oh well, whatcha gonna do? Make the best of it. Maybe buy a purse or something. That should make you both feel a little better. Well, probably not both of you. Each to their own. Still beautiful to see what we could see. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks!
