  • In September 2021 I visited Herons Bonsai in Surrey, UK and was fortunate to meet Peter Chan. As a souvenir of my visit I bought a large crab apple bonsai tree.
This is the largest and most mature tree In my collection.
Here I celebrate this magnificent tree, first with photos from the changing seasons of the last year, and then with a clean up and special photo shoot session.
    The tree came from Herons:

The large lotus pot came from Greenwood Bonsai:

    Enjoy 🙏

Thanks. Most of the credit goes to Peter Chan at Herons. The pot choice was mine 😀

They go a lovely deep red in late autumn. Then followed by a stunning white blossom in April.

For the most part my biggest contribution was flexing my credit card, and maybe repotting into the big ceramic pot I bought from Corin at Greenwood Bonsai.

Superb tree Jason ! Going to Herron's would be an exercise in frustration for me. Can't bring a thing back home.

Love the pear species, fruit, fall color bark are all so nice. Trying to root a callery pear for my own collection. Enjoy your tree. Karl
