    Disk brakes for the win.

    Before starting this job two important points. The bushing close to the shaft end is a seal ring. That distance is absolutely critical. If it's off by .25 or mire, the axle will leak. The ABS wheel must be at correct distance also, otherwise your ABS will do wierd shit, like activate at 5 mph when slowing down. Take measurements from the axle before ripping everything apart Trust me. School of hard knocks here

    C'mon. Post back with the update: that you had to buy all new parts and re-do it because you drove the ABS ring and retainer/race too far, so the race didn't line up with the seal, and the axle leaked.
    It's an easy mistake to make, but just own up to it so you don't mislead people who are looking for advice on this job.

    I could have sworn the ABS gear has to be measured and isn't supposed to be seated all the way on the snap ring like they did. I think it's in too far and won't align with the sensor.

      @andybub45 3 года назад

      That is correct. You have to measure it before you cut it out.

      @@NathansBMWWorkshop you mean www.freedomracing.com/09521-25011-01-rear-axle-shaft-bearing-puller.html ? $300 toyota tool that doesnt fit on the HF press without cutting. This job is a nightmare, could have given some better details on the magic $30 tool

    I think you drove that abs ring way to deep, it should not touch the c clip, you screwed up bro

    The title is misleading, the sequoia uses a unit bearing and is completely different than a tundra. It should be changed to avoid confusing people (like me) who are looking to do this on a sequoia...

      Same here. There is so little information out there on sequoias.

    These guys are hacks, buy the proper tool, measure like you're suppose to do or at least scribe where the retainers were before cutting them off.

      So, my money says that thing leaked like a sieve, and probably started throwing ABS errors. The ABS ring isn't supposed to be jammed up against the c-clip and outer retainer ring. That inner retainer ring must ride inside the rubber oil seal to seal the axle, and they drove it on so far that it never made contact. I know this because the previous owner of my Tundra had done the same thing when they replaced the wheel bearing. Even with the stack of snap rings they tried to use to make up that space on my truck(not joking), it didn't put ABS ring in the correct position, or the inner retainer in the right place to seal.

  • @rabidfarmer9765
    @rabidfarmer9765 4 года назад

    Oh for fuck sake- stop hammering on the spacers. Just heat them up a little and they will drop into position. Rank - amatuers.
