Wow Becca! First of all, let me tell you that your kitchen transformation was stunning. It is hard to believe that the first picture was your current kitchen! The project with the counters came out so nicely. I give you credit because, although I love to decorate, garden and cook, I have never refinished anything. You are talented! 💗

I so, love the marble look countertops. You make it look so easy. But, I know there is a lot of drying time in-between. Buy so worth it. So pretty.
Mary, that means a lot. Thank you! Thankfully, the drying time with the paint and poly isn't nearly as long and daunting as it was when I used the epoxy

Hi Becca. Love all the design elements in your kitchen. I'm with you, the barn doors never go out of style. They look great. Love the feather design. Many years ago, on HGTV there was a s show "Room by Room" hosted by Matt Fox and Shari Hiller. They used that feather design as you did. It looked awesome! Great job. Blessings💞💞

Looks great. Thanks for the detailed steps. Very informative. Btw do you have a step by step on how you created the wood vent hood? I’ve always wanted to have that look. Not a fan of the microwave look above stove. Pls help 😊
Love your kitchen! Thanks for the tutorial ~ it turned out fabulous! Question about countertops…..I have granite and would love to transform them as you did. Since I would be skipping the epoxy ~ Would I use the same steps you showed when you painted over the epoxy since mine would not be epoxied and straight granite? Thanks
I really appreciate that. thank you! Yes, just make sure you sand them first really well (like 120 grit ... an orbital sander would be best) and clean off well ... then prime with a good bonding primer, etc.
You did a fantastic job but I just like a little more contrast in my decor. I’ve tried doing a monochromatic style but I always go back to colors. Gayle

Thank you!! You sure can! Those are actually faux brick panels that you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot ... super easy to mount!!

Thank you so much! The feather came in a bag with several others (either Wal-Mart or Michaels). 🙂

Looks great I’m not a fan of valspar paint I use Behr marquis all the time I think it goes on better and is easier to work with but anyways your kitchen looks great

So it was the epoxy that turned your counter yellow not the paint you used under the epoxy? The poly you used does it have to say no yellowing?
YES, it was the gases in the epoxy that, over time, yellow. I was so bummed on the one hand, but SO happy to have found a solution by going with polyCRYLIC. PolyURETHANE, on the other hand, will also yellow.
