  • What was life like in a typical Polish village in the late 1970s? What was the infrastructure like there, how did people live, or what curiosity did the professional camera generate? See a typical Polish village in the early 1980s (the footage was made between 1979 and 1981). You will feel a bit of the atmosphere of those times.
The shots were taken in the village of Wólka Okrąglik and the vicinity of Małkinia Górna (market). They were taken by Claude Lanzmann and his crew during the shooting of his film “Shoah”. Perhaps someone will recognize their parents or grandparents!
The footage has been “tweaked”, the quality of the footage has been significantly improved, the resolution has been increased, so you can see even more details, and in Full HD.
The source material is owned by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
