Do you guys gives discounts for training with these guys?
Here in South Africa most assassinations happen to people when they are in their vehicles. If you're going to train one self defence scenario, this one is it.
I don't think you can ever be prepared for it a hit can come at anytime when you least expect it not to mention most ppl use high powered rifles
@@montelljacobs7661 here in South Africa, most of the hits are done using hand guns, not rifles, and are commonly carried out when the person is driving. There have been three carried out within five km of me within the last four years.
@@battler544 interesting maybe we were exposed to two different calibers of hitman but I do get your point handgun is quick and easy those R5 hits get the job done hard maybe to make a statement but I do get your point
Can you conceal carry in SA?
@@digleman1 yes you may carry a handgun in public, as long as no part of the gun is visible, however the holster, or part thereof may be visible. If you are carrying a rifle, or shotgun in public, you must have a reason, other than self defence, and it must be in a rifle bag. You may only purchase one self defence weapon, and that is a handgun of any calibre, or a shotgun that holds a maximum of five shells, and is not semi automatic. The shotgun can only be used for home defence. You may own another handgun for hunting, and a shotgun, and a rifle, or a handgun, and two rifles, or three rifles. All guns must be licenced, which requires proficiency testing, and subsequently police involvement to get competency. It is illegal to sell your firearm.
Something one of my handgun instructors taught was when you are shooting around cover, to make sure you have your outside leg protected, because if you take a shot to the thigh it can hit your femoral artery and you will be in trouble.
Ayoob talked about that 30 yrs ago at Thunder Ranch. It’s not talked about enough.
Thank U for that. Plz say it, say it, say it
Really? I was thought not to get shot anywhere, cus then you’d be in trouble.
@@conro7003your heart rate was steadily rising when you wrote that, Iam assuming, could be why you misspelled “taught”.
@@WugaWuga23 It’s RUclips comments bro. Correcting spelling is dumb. Plus your sentence was grammatically incorrect.😂idgaf, but if you’re gonna be a snarky douche, at least don’t have a jumbled up run on mess when correcting someone’s spelling. Asshat.
If you practice this with a renal car, make sure you pay a little extra for the "no fault insurance". 🤠
Underrated comment 😂
Those ass cars are more expensive LOL
Don't forget about glass dust.
right? I was surprised they didn't mention that.
Obviously in a life or death, you're not going to care, but in training, wear a mask
Breathing crystalline silica dust can cause silicosis, which in severe cases can be disabling, or even fatal.
When silica dust enters the lungs, it causes the formation of scar tissue, which makes it difficult for the lungs to take in oxygen.
There is no cure for silicosis
Marine mom here! God bless and protect our military! Thanks for your service, now and then! Awesome video! 🌿🌻🌿❤️❤️❤️
Also adress the fact that shooting in the car, the sound and overpressure will temporarily deafen you but may also affect balance and coordination from the inner ear impact?
Most people are able to learn how to bite down, control the actual closure of the inner ear canal yourself, knowing it has an effect almost like ear plugs - when knowing that there is a loud sound coming. It's loud sounds you don't prepare for that are actually damaging. Life or death ear plugs don't matter
@@joeblow8206Someone has never mag dumped from inside a vehicle😂 The compounding overpressure is real, homie🙉
@joeblow8206 No.! Not at all.! I'm not aware of this at aaaaaall.!! And neither R a.LOT of other ppl I know.!!
@@CMDR.Gonzo.von.Richthofenonce u mag dump enough, your body will adjust; homie. Been mag dumping in vehicles since a kid n never once had “compounded pressure” problems. In those moments adrenaline will take over, doors will fly open, windows bust, pressure not a problemo. Unless u tackticall doofuses some how find a way to enclose n flashbang urself 😂
I shot indoors without hearing protection once from 9mm and once from AK-47 10in with a huxwrks suppressor. I wanted to see how bad it was - It was bad. It took an hour or so for the ringing in ears to go away. I can only imagine what discharging a firearm inside a vehicle will do to you.
Most will say well why would anyone shoot at your vehicle? Umm because we live in a revengeful criminal society who will try to harm whoever
I think the possibility of cartel guys blocking our rural highway wanting a different ride
That's just exactly what these days have become... IN OUR USA 🇺🇸 ... all Bcuz of the dims.!!!
You must be living in USA.
@@sikandarrana6377 yeah, I'm 70 miles from the Mexican border and people get killed a the time on both sides. If course Mexican took the guns from the citizens 50 years ago. Only bad guys have guns now
This will really come in handy for my daily commute to work and back.
Who are you beefing with dawg? 😂
Excellent advice and information.
Great video, straight to the point. Real tactical and good advice.
Excellent on covering fine points.
My grandpa bought a new Nissan Hardbody just like this one when I was 4. That was his only truck until he passed in 2019. He literally drove it all over the USA. It’s still running to this day. Never had any big problems. Just starters and the AC system. It’s 34 years old and will crank up and run all day. Good little trucks.
Good information.
Man, so much is offered by you all at USCCA - the in-person classes are awesome; no sales. You are packing a lot of skill and how to train this scenario in under 6 minutes; wow, this had to have taken a lot of time to make it under 6 minutes.
More content from O'Dowd!!!!!!!!!!!!
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾Good tactics. Good info and reminders. In the words of James Yeager: Motionless Operators Ventilate Easily.
AWESOME VIDEO. 🤜🏾🤛🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks
In my Toyota I can simply smash the parking brake with my left foot without worrying about what gear I'm in. This leaves both hands free to operate my firearm.
That D21 has a lever you had to pull out, a very low cost design.
Such great information!!
Glad you liked it!
this is some great training to do
Great content!
Glad you enjoy it!
Lovely!!
Awesome
This was great information!
Thank you for your support, we are happy to hear you found it helpful!
Also learn how to draw from a sitting position with a seatbelt on. Suggestion: How about doing a video for only the driver in the vehicle (where you don't have another to lay cover fire)? Thank you.
If there is no cover fire, your weapon must always point forward even when u moving behind the vehicle u don't turn your back against the attack ,face your opponent head-on
Great video. Make more of this situation because it’s not safe no more
Thank you for watching!
I took one of this vehicle counter ambush tactics class (VCAT-1) & they emphasized the importance of muzzle direction & communication while moving around both inside & outside the vehicle. I think this type of vehicle training is very valuable & should be done under the guidance of a professional instructor. Thanks for sharing this video. God bless!
oh really..at what point in your country are you actually going to need this?............
Excellent
TY USCCA
Thank you for watching!
Great interview 💪🏿
Glad you liked it!
My unit taught us to switch shooting hands depending on which side of the vehicle we were on so we didn't have to lean out as much to clear the vehicle to shoot same thing with clearing houses
Great demonstration and execution.
Very valid point of bullet deflection for outgoing / incoming rounds.
Every scenario obviously weighs a separate response, if you floor it and drive through or engage and exit the vehicle.
Typically you don't drive around with ballistic proof glasses, so I would add, minimize time in the vehicle, glass dust and debris will cause eye damage.
Additionally, how does FMJ vs HP ammunition compare in such a scenario?
Appreciated
I love this video
More to come!
Nice man👍
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed!
Wild you posted this right before that forward vehicle ambush in France. Didn't work out too well for them.
The front window also provide some of the strength to the roof which prevents collapse during a rollover. That's why it's so important to keep your front windshield in good condition and not drive around with them cracked
Great example of team tactics in an all too plausible scenario. Something else to remember that was eluded to is the glass that will splash back in your face and eyes. So, what is the best way to deal with the glass issue if you aren’t wearing good eye protection?
That poor hardbody pick up. Was my first truck. Great little truck
Throw in reverse, quarter turn on wheel to the right while pulling E break, skidding tire sends you into a 180 release e break when you are turned back the direction you came from and gas on it !!!!! Basics of escort driving 😂 if you can’t do it fallow instructions in the video
Oh my God its Jason Bourne.😍
If you don’t believe it works find a vacant parking lot and try it. I would recommend you make sure there are no parking blocks telephone poles light poles parked vehicles within 100 yards of you while you learn to do this. I spent a month waiting over a class screw up at Blackhawk Advanced driving training center. Not only was I able to go through everything you could possibly do with a semi, with the time due to company confusion I had three weeks to work with the guys working with the Secret Service. You’d be surprised what I could do with a car Truck SUV semi I learned some incredible stuff! Years later the stuff I learned while taking a evasive driving with the Secret Service, I would put to use an escort work, I had three incidences over five years where I had to use these skills and firearm skills to get the girls out of the houses. Bachelor parties with nude dancers. Guys think when they’re in a group of eight that they can take on one single man, sometimes that’s a big mistake! I never lost a client, never lost a dollar worth worth of payment, but I did destroy two SUVs and approximately six other vehicles in a chase the other SUV was shot away from a private party. No one injured owner of the house. Well, he uses jellybeans for his lipstick.
A J turn? A good technique to learn for many situations
That move is from the Rockford Files!
If you're going to suggest a J turn at least know what you're talking about. E brake? Lolwut

Is people like you that get arrested for some stupid gun violence?
Always stay calm and try to stay focused on the threat as well as an escape route while being in a defensive role. As he puc gs are happening fast
Awesome techniques looking forward to seeing some shotgun tips with same situations
Thank you for watching!
first thing during an ambush ,put on your ear protection 🤣
Surprised we did not mention changing exposure behind cover. You keep popping your head over the same exact spot, you just gave the threat a perfect day at the wack-a-mole.
This is a great point. We normally discuss this but did not mention this time. You are correct
Yeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh💪🏾
Great video. Not clear if the driver closes his door after he bails. Does he leave open as a weak shield for pax or family members when they bail? Great info on shooting through a windshield. 30 years as a LEO and never had this level of training. All of my friends' kids are still working in Ca and need this type of training.
Have to meet fire with fire 🔥
Amen brother
Put it in reverse, Terry!
this is what i call some high speed larping!
🔥
Are you going to be eating glass shards without eye & face protection?
YA like we're always gonna be prepared for this.!!! By the way our country is looking these days I believe we should be.!!!
When I was a kid riding shotgun was still relevant and had responsibility tell your codriver to stay off their phone and stay alert . In Some states ar pistol’s can be carried up front with your carry permit but not carbine’s so I see great value in such tools I hope this isn’t where we’re going my first instinct is turning or plow on if your in a 6,000 pound projectile but that might not be your best option we don’t go through the cities at all if possible
Good video. Please comment in what I am thinking is a good tactic.: instant retaliation to achieve Separation, evasion, more separation, evaluation. Continuation if and as required.
conjunction, junction whats that function? SORRY!! HAD TO!!! m
What kind of pistols are you all running 😊
Will this work in CA
The wheel well only real cover on vehicle tires & wheels
Would it be effective as well if in a driver + passenger scenario & suddenly you are shot at whether you were driving that that moment of contact or stationary = that you just gun it straight into the shooter while Angel or your passenger shoots? Or is that idea off the table & why? Or could that be viable as well to escape plus stop the shooter?
Which direction of attack is more likely in civilian world? I’d guess it’s from the driver’s side, and your options for getting out aren’t as simple.
Just like the movies 😂
this is why I always drive around in an MRAP...
Ah, yes... preparing for the 0.001% of scenarios that could happen in my life. Is there an instructor led course? Where do I sign up?
I took this training from the federal government. The answer is more gas pedal.
werx every time for me
Drivers drive, you can push through with your vehicle or reverse out of the X, if that doesn't work move to a hard point. Remember you are responsible for every bullet that goes down range.
Use your weak hand when on the left rear. Don't lean your body into the open.
Temple index...oh my god...
Oh my god!!!!
1:51 shouldn't it be the other way around? I'm no physicist but I learned the opposite about "deflection" in high school
Here in South Africa it is a different story. I'm security officer the respond unit.
Chicago tactics..
Here in Philippines if you're been ambushed your already dead, very dead you cannot get out of your car instantly.
How do they contact someone who wins the daily gun give away?
If you win the giveaway, you are notified via the email!
What about a carjacking with two vehicles trying to box victim in on a one way bridge? I know how I beat them, but curious how you would? Chicago, fall of 2020, 4:15 in the morning because if you’re not a half hour early to work you’re late.
Good question.
I’d like to see something more realistic like defeating common tactics used by criminals. This is more likely to be experienced during GWOT or you are participating in the drug trade.
Carjackers are increasingly using the tactic of bumping their own vehicle into the victim's vehicle like it is an accident in order to get the victim to stop. Once the victim exits their vehicle the carjackers then intimidate or assault and then rob the victim.
Step 1. If taking rounds, continue driving through the threat unless your vehicle is disabled.
My engine block can stop nerf bullets, and hard stares from aggressive middle school gangs
What if you don't have a highly skilled Angel Cortez riding shotgun?
Would a Swedish alternative Johan Johansson work?
Yes
Don't ever carry a helpless person, I guess. Having a helpless or a person not willing to train in the vehicle you are committed to staying with them.
Better you lay down on the ground, than you are a smaller target.
absent detail
I've done this like 12 times before on at least 50 different missions, operations and convoys
I'm not a military man..but if an ambush is properly executed your are not getting out of that car. Chances are you will be receiving fire from all sides..your vehicle in this instance is not bullet proof. To put it simply the vehicle is a death trap especial if it is stationary
So basically just spray 😂
wtf i thought they would deflect downwards shooting from that position. but i understand why that's not the case now
😅if its really an ambush, you are really dead before the fight even starts
What if I’m I an armored vehicle?
Let me know where you found yours, cause I want one!
This is not hard or complicated to understand. The challenge is if you have others in the vehicle who are unarmed, such as your principles that need to be protected.
So basically mag dump lol
What's the comparative effect of JHP vs. FMJ ammo on front windshields? I would think JHP might splatter as it passes through the front window. Should a separate handgun be kept loaded wth FMJ ammo for situations like this? I have no idea.
Jhp work in fluid mediums. Other than that they act like fmj. Fmj have a very thin layer of copper over lead. They deform easily on hard barriers.
Thank you. BTW, people often mistake glass as a fluid. But physicists say that's a misnomer. @@graywind4326

I thought rounds from inside the car go down... and shooting into the car goes up, no?
No. Opposite
@@defensestrategiesgroup The physics of that just don't make sense to me but I'll take your word for it.
@defensestrategiesgroup That would make for an interesting follow up video.
How often have you had to use this technique in real life ? Does it really work ? Is the same method used if you are in the car by yourself ?
Can it work, yes. But any ambush is a terrible place to be and you’re already at a disadvantage. This is one way to fight out.
Just be ready.!!
Should I do the same thing against a gun with pepper spray. I live in Hawaii
Well the attackers usually attack from behind don t they? One guy with ak pulls right behind the left of the driver and no2 waits from behind and to the right to empty the second magazine in order for no1 to reload... Then open the doors empty a few more to the corpses and disappear?? Actually 99% of the times... What is the tactical approach to that?
( ruclips.net/video/j23qZPPf3Do/видео.htmlsi=WS49LjaT4YpuMlLp )
Something like that...
Rule # 1 : NEVER stop in a vehicle ambush. Keep driving. SEALS aren't experts in all subject matter.
Rent a car? And then use it for firearms training?
Poor hard body being used as cover.
