How Much Money Does April Wilkerson Make on RUclips in 2020?
April Wilkerson has one of the most popular DIY woodworking and metalworking channels on RUclips.
Back in 2016, April was part of a growing community of woodworkers with their own specialist RUclips channels, some of whom made their living from doing what they love, sharing projects and ideas with viewers.
Since then, April Wilkerson has become one of the most successful celebrity woodworking RUclipsrs. The Texas native is now a product endorser for many tool companies including Triton Tools.
As of February 2020, she produces approximately 3 new videos each month. To date, April's channel content has generated over 148,000,000 views.
In this video, we estimate her 2020 RUclips ad revenues. The reason for this anaysis is that thousands of woodworkers, woodturners, makers and DIY'ers start RUclips channels each year. The long term goal for most of these creators is monetization.
Unfortunately, few creators understand how views translate into RUclips earnings and money. It is not a directly proportional relationship. Many variables outside of You Tube views affect how much money a woodworking channel earns.
How much do subscribers, views and engagement help a wood maker's channel? The answer is...it all depends.
    - What if your content gets tons of views but is not appropriate for children?
    - What if your video gets plenty of engagement but it's all from bot traffic?
    - How about content that has lots of subscribers but they're all s4s requests?
April's channel provides an excellent case study of what happens when a creators nails views, engagement and subscribers the right way. Spoiler alert...good things happen!
By most measures, April has one of the most successful woodworking channels online. How does that engagement translate into RUclips advertising dollars? If you are a maker and aspire to Wilkerson's analytics, you should know how that work translates into income.
    Please note:
    1) This video is only an estimate of Wilkerson's RUclips Ad revenue as a direct result of her channel traffic ONLY. She most certainly has many streams of income not reflected here. It is a ballpark estimate using best guess assumptions that may or many not be wildly off.
    2) I don't know April nor do I have access to her financials. I am not interested in her earnings outside of this specific examination of RUclips ad monezation..
    3) The information on this video is based on publicly available information. It is no different than discussing how much a professional athlete's salary or contract. In fact, discussing RUclips earning is more relevant in that there are substantially more creators lparticipating in ad-sense income than there are aspiring professional athletes
    4) If this discussion of a celebrity creator's RUclips ad revenue bothers you, you definitely didn't watch it, right? LOL
Here is how she describes her channel, in her own words:
"I am an obsessed DIYer and Woodworker. I'm not professional or have any training, so I just pick the project I want to tackle and figure it out step by step.
I picked up my first tool in January of 2013. I couldn't afford to buy the things I wanted around my home, so I decided to try my hand at making them instead. I was hooked after my first project so I just never stopped.
I put out a video as well as a written tutorial on all the projects I do to improve my home and workshop. You can find my website at Wilkerdos.com."

Wilkerson's channel hits all of the points that aspiring maker content creators should aim for.
April is smart, savvy, entertaining, relatable, seo-minded, hard working and most definitely worthy of her success. If monetization is your goal, emulate her as best you can! Wood for sale here...bit.ly/CFPwood

I wonder How much time does she put in to make the channel pay? Does she have a life outside YT? Me ... I'm retired so I'm not even trying 😁😁 Thanks Steve 🙏 It's like anything $$ -wise ... go into it with eyes wide open ... too good to be true ... work hard very hard to succeed & maybe you will. -Mike
    p.s. I'm a fuddy-duddy curmudgeon. Sometimes. If you hadn't guessed. 👴

That rarely hurts, doesn’t it 😝 of course she may counter that stodgy old woodworkers don’t take you seriously but I think The benefits outweigh the negatives.

Social blade does not seem accurate lol it says I made money and I'm nowhere near the subs I need to make any. Liked the video interesting stuff.

Interesting. If RUclips allowed you to monetize with less than 1000 subs, do you think the Social Blade estimate is about what you'd be making? Just curious.

I don’t know. I think once you’re in the public eye and making $ from sponsorships, endorsements & google ad revenue, you’re a bit of an open book. We know how much pro athletes & politicians make, etc. Also, I’m just speculating on google ad revenue which is certainly only a portion of her actual income.
