If you ever listen to a SHO with no exhaust at the track (basically everything removed past the cats), they are almost whisper quiet WOT at 100+ mph. The turbos attenuate a lot of the sound, making it sound almost stock.
I don't know what SHO you were watching, but it's certainly not whisper quite with no exhaust. And you can't hear any turbo whistle with the stock exhaust system.
what your hearing is the cats which eliminates the resonance and obviously the turbos cutting up the vibrations. go full catless and straight pipe its a shit show
Any drone inside? It's typically hard to tell from videos how loud something is, anything you can compare it to? (FWIW, my SHO is the only car i own or actually have ever owned with a stock exhaust) I like that you can hear the turbos more.
It is just the mufflers that i took off. The only other mod to this car is a cold air intake otherwise the car is stock. Hopefully be getting a tune soon and ill upload a clip if there is any change to the sound.
Honestly there is only a little drone between about 2300rpm to about 2500rpm and for the most part Im not in that range to often. Either Im below it at highway and cruising speed or way above it when Im accelerating. So for me it's not a problem at all
I’m thinking about this for my 2013 sho as well. Doing my research and I think your video convinced me lol

hey man did you do anything other than a muffler delete? did you delete the resonator also, do you run a tune?

Wisconsin represent! Still have the car? I got a 2013 Flex with the same engine and a tune from Unleashed and a few minor supporting mods.
Sure do! It even made the move to Washington with me! The car loves those mountain roads
Pros and cons so far for you?
That's leaving resignator?
What are the diameters of the inlet and outlet of the tips you're using? Sounds gnarly.
Those are actually the stock tips. Just cut them off the mufflers and welded them on to the new tubing
Damn not bad, sounds great. Do you know what the diameter of the exhaust piping is by chance? I'd like to get bigger tips once I get to doing this
Jon Liegl I think it's 3 1/4
On a scale of 1-10 how loud is this? I rate it like a 2 from factory with a cold start lol
Yea its pretty quiet lol
@@Chubbywubbyjr yeah i ended up doing it. Ended up selling it tho 😭
hey did you take out all 3 mufflers or just the two in the back??
Chris Belizaire just the 2 at the back
Is this car worthy getting with 120k miles?
CholoLeo L.A I'm currently over 117,000 and have no problems as of now. Still runs perfectly.
Travis Mathiesen for how much did you buy it for?
CholoLeo L.A about 22k
I'm at 95k on mine, no problems whatsoever. Has never needed anything but routine maintenance
ha i top all of you, my sho is at 180k and still runs like a dream
Would doing this mod need a tune done or is it okay without having it tuned I have a 2013 and I want a little more attention drawn to me lol
Calob Gibbs no tune needed
How much did this cost to do?
100$ at local shop but if you have a welder and can do it yourself probably around 50
how is the drone inside the car? is it too obnoxious?

Travis Mathiesen what about at 75-80 mph? I know this is an old video but I’m looking into a SHO and I’d like an honest opinion
@@nicksavely3233same here. Please let us know. Got a 2018 sho myself
