My favorite things about Markhyuck:
- they always turn to each other first, no matter what it is (to talk, to share an opinion, to criticize and make it better, to give shelter, to help each other...)
- Even though Hyuck is living his best life as “the ace” in resonance, he still keeps an eye on Mark, even though making clear that he has a bunch of people to give attention to.
- Mark’s attention remains on Hyuck, as in, he’s still the main character on his mind. Mark gets more nervous when it’s about Hyuck, whilst with the others he dominates his first reactions and thoughts well.
They remain superior to me, despite all the distractions 🌻💕

they’re really best friends no matter how many other members they are close with. and not in a showy way either, but you just know behind the cameras at the end of the day there’s no one who knows each other, their fears, their opinions, the things they don’t have to say out loud, than each other. when they were trainees they were the two who were always together the most and had this love-hate dynamic going on (because let’s be real we are all insufferable at that age) so like a lot of people with their childhood besties they really pretend they don’t love each other and never say cringey stuff if they can help it 😅 when we look at clocks we only see 24 hours, and when we look at calendars we only see 365 days, but mark says when he looks at haechan he sees all the time they spent growing up together. they reminisce about their friendship and how well they know each other, but when they feel awkward they will follow it with “we’ve been together too long! let’s not meet each other now!” so they don’t sound too clingy or sentimental 😂 but through little snippets and some of the things they say in sentimental videos we know how much deeper their bond really is. when haechan came back from injury, the first person he seeked out in the dorms was mark. haechan even said “maybe you are the one who’s existence i’m always following.” he said mark was the one who taught him everything he missed and helped him learn the choreos. when 127 was promoting without him, mark always kept bringing up haechan, to the point where taeil said mark has been feeling haechan’s absence deeply. the dream members said they wanted to visit haechan at home, but mark said “i wanted to give you shoes, because you like shoes, so you can hurriedly put them on and come back here quickly” because he really misses haechan’s presence. mark always said haechan was the brightest of them all and that he misses him when he is gone even for just ten minutes. everyone sees haechan when he is there, but mark is the one person who notices him when he is not there. there’s something special about a person who notices when you are not in the room, especially since there are so many of them it’s easy to overlook someone. like they could be with so many people and not interact at all, but you know they are conscious of each other’s presence because when someone disappears or is gone, the other will always point it out. “where’s haechan?” “mark is not here” like that, especially mark, who always calls haechan when he is lagging behind or notices when he hasn’t arrived yet. in their vlive, they said the saying “glad to meet each other for just 10 mins” applies to them, meaning they are happy to see each other but after 10 mins the excitement is gone because it was like that person was never gone in the first place at all. they’re best friends, and soulmates, and may be they have a tom and jerry friendship, but we know tom and jerry cannot live without each other.
