Scott - I have watched all 138 of these. Many (site planning, carpentry, plumbing, electrical) I have said “I can do that”. Some, I have said, “not my skill set, but I could figure it out”. This one, I say “not in a million years!” Nicely done.
The buyer should be humbled and privileged to own this, given the attention to detail and labour of love that went into property! We as an audience can only hope you were appropriately compensated in the end.
Another thing to think about is it has to be easy to clean. Looks great, a real focal point of the whole kitchen. Really that is unique. Cheers from Tokyo! Stu
You are one of a kind. The community you are part of is the true essence of America, a million miles from the evil tyrants who are sadly now in charge, and it is these very tyrants who are bringing this country down. Keep up the good work (for as long as you can).
Nice trick with the dimple texturing sir. I dont have room for a machine that size, so necessity required a different approach.. i hotglued marbles to 3/4" ply 24"×24", and place material on top using a rubber mallet or deadblow hammer for desired results. You can be gentle a leave a wrinkle, or really beat some visible distressing into said sheet. Love your channel on every topic. Never stop learning 🇺🇸👍🧡✝️🙏
I know what you are saying with regard to working with copper. I helped a friend make a replacement "standing seam copper roof" for an old house a few years ago. We woe cotton gloves when working with the copper sheet so that our body oils would not leave fingerprints that would show up as the copper weathered outside. It was a fun job though.
Owning this home will be owning a piece of history. The character and quality of it will never be matched. Thank you, Scott and Nate, for this labor of love - sharing your skills and knowledge and wisdom with us.
3M VHB is my go to tape for this kind of work. Wipe down with acetone then alcohol first. It will be stronger than just about any attachment method after it sets. Modified acrylic adhesive is used, and it gets stronger with age and heat, to an upwards limit of 100PSI for some on these substrates. RP25 or 5952 are my personal favorites. The RP is probably the strongest, and comes in different thicknesses. 8, 12, 25, 32, 45, and 62 mil to my knowledge. 32 and 62 get the most use from me and are the easiest to get from places like tape case. It is just gray so make sure you have it concealed enough
It is so nice to see a house being built the right way from foundation up! Great work everyone! Custom work is hard to come by at least where I've been in most houses I've either help remodel or see being built.
That is awesome and timely for me. I am working up some ideas to replace my hood and your video provides some good ideas on finishes as well design. I also like the mockup idea. I do that a lot using cardboard but never thought of using door skins. Thank you!
That is one beautiful one-off range hood. You should be proud and thankful for the good support friends you have that gladly help you with this projects ( I think gladly).
Wow, that is awesome, I don't have any more words, thanks again for all the content over the years. Hoping you take on another big project so we can follow along.
It turned out nice. This is one of those projects I would have barreled into headfirst and I'm pretty sure it would have turned out alright. Though, your texturing is much neater than anything I could have done. Anyway, I sure wish I had at least attempted something like this, instead of just buying a cheap vent hood and piping it outside. It's still fantastic, you can smell bacon cooking downwind from a mile away. But it's nothing neat and custom. It's like when you get to THAT phase of construction, you're just done. You want to pass the codes, and move in, preferably before winter. And grand plans become good enough. To build a spec house like this one day would be an absolute privilege. Though even here I can tell, Scott is really ready for it to be done! Really, they should do another. One that has a little land, or a lot more land, and isn't on the side of a cliff. And then move into it. Scott's own version of Ken Jordan's dream home. Keep up the good work.
Damn smart fella you’ll go down in the history books one hell of a man and I wish I knew just a little sliver of the knowledge that you have thanks for your videos
I’ve always wanted to do that but use blacksmith rivets to hold the copper on, I looked into it in the early 2000s and when I finally found the copper and the price, I gave up lol. That’s a beautiful hood you built!
Things being what they are and all the effort you have made to produce a superior product i certainly hope you make 7 figures plus for this place. its well worth it. excellent work sir!
14 min video, goodness know hope many hours went into making this then, not to mention the editing. Great job you guys. Kindest regards from Bonnie Scotland. Joe.
Kudos on texturing the copper this way since the Plywood is soft enough to emboss the pattern from the steel and its give lets the sheet stretch. One way to make copper more rigid would have been to take say 3\32 brazing rods then spot solder it across the back and its ribs would of keep it flat quite nicely. Copper will begin to tarnish if left raw over time and will begin to look like old pennies unless its polished regularly or sealed with some clear laquer. The green patina many love can be gone artificially and its they sold in a ready made solution since it takes years to form just from oxidation. Indeed the Statue of Liberty had the color of a chocolate bar for awhile after it was erected and its iconic patina protects it from the elements nearly 150years later....
Nice getting that hand made, adds something extra. But I would be very tempted putting in a kitchen range that are hoodless in that kitchen, fan built in, makes for a very clean kitchen look.
I have watched all 138 episodes as well. Fantastic effort and I’ve learned so much. Quick question about the kitchen something I’ve noticed… Why aren’t there any outlets on the backsplash? Sorry if somebody’s already asked/answered this question.
Well done on the Hood Vent. This should have been a 30 minute video with all that when into it. The only downside to this build is that the homeowners can't run to the local big box stores for a part replacement .... but hopefully with this level of craftsmanship, they won't have to.
Personally I would've liked to seen some large copper rivets used rather than hot glue (I feel it would last longer and hold up to abuse better. . . . Like if some kid presses on it.) but you still did an awesome job. Looks awesome.
When I first saw that drill, I said show-off, but that's me being petty. Great job as always. I really enjoy all your videos. Keep up the good work you and your crew are greatly appreciated.

This isn’t a spec house, this is a labor of love. Outstanding!
Spec stands for special in this case
It's a work of art!
well said!

Is short for speculative house.
I will never take my range hood for granted again. Fascinating to watch how one of these are built. Yours is beautiful from exquisite craftsmanship.
The buyer should be humbled and privileged to own this, given the attention to detail and labour of love that went into property!

Working on things like this with good friends is priceless.
A friend of mine, CT from Moorestown, used to put on copper rooves. He's gone now but his talk about it is still with me. Miss that guy!
Man... this range hood... Never seen anything like it
Kitchen turned out to be absolutely incredible!
One of the things I love about this channel Scott, is what a nice place the comment section is to hang out.
Another thing to think about is it has to be easy to clean.
Looks great, a real focal point of the whole kitchen.
Really that is unique.
Cheers from Tokyo!

I truly appreciate being able to watch you work Scott. I’ve been in the trades 20 years and love seeing the custom work you do. Keep it up!
The Essential Craftsman has a Radial Arm Drill, this is a man who sleeps well.
Agree, radial arm drill is an awesome machine!
That’s the largest radial arm drill I’ve ever seen!
@@UKCG_2 Funny, I was thinking it was kind of small! lol

That is by far the most awesome drill press I have ever seen. Thank you for an awesome design and fabricate lesson.
Love copper!
Beautiful job.

He is a breath of fresh air!
Beautiful craftsmanship! I appreciate the work put into not only the house but the recording of the process. Thank you
Sir, that is an awesome range hood, you are a very True Craftsman. Thank you for letting us be in your world.

This is probably the most satisfying video of the entire series! Amazing job Scott!
Its up there but its hard to say which one is the best. There have been some awesome videos in this series.

Nice getting that hand made, adds something extra. But I would be very tempted putting in a kitchen range that are hoodless in that kitchen, fan built in, makes for a very clean kitchen look.
That's A mighty handsome range hood that any tin knocker would be proud of,thanks for the video🤗😎🤗😎
I love how you don't settle for "that'll do".
Beautiful.
Amazing.

Look stunning 😍
The shape and forced perspective at 10:34 makes it look like it’s about 8 feet long.
When I first saw that drill, I said show-off, but that's me being petty. Great job as always. I really enjoy all your videos. Keep up the good work you and your crew are greatly appreciated.
That looks beautiful. I hope that copper is at least somewhat thick to avoid dents and dings.
NICE!!!!
Hello what is the music track’s within the video please
