I haven't got this far in the game yet to even fight one of these beasts..but the visual of when you take down a machine - or even just hit it with a big explosion - and see all of the armour plating/components flash blue and come flying off as it crumples over, dead, still love that.
When I saw this for the first time I was like: WTF?! But I think revealing the new machines should be story or side story related to unlock them on the map afterwards. Way more impactful. It's that reason that the surprise seeing one of these in the main story wasn't a surprise and new it was coming.
It is somewhat, you only fight the snek in the wild after a certain part of the story. But yeah probably would be better if it is like the way you describe
I don't have the game but I think that the devs when making the Slaughterspine's attacks, they took inspiration from Shin Godzilla. One: because Shin has lasers on its back and the Slaughterspine has things that shoot from its back Two: the purple beam the Slaughterspine has is identical to Shin's beam. And Third: Shin also has a tail beam like The Slaughterspine. The difference is that Shin's tail beam shoots one beam instead of three
This just shows how powerful the machines in Forbidden West are. It takes about 2 minutes for a skilled player to take down a Thunderjaw, it took almost 6 minutes for this skilled player to take down a Slaughterspine.
@@mamoruchiba752 try very hard difficulty yet? I just did and it one shot me although I am wearing Nora thunder warrior max level. And it has like 15k hp or something, can't even chip good hp off him.
I remember facing one the first time during one of the story quests (might’ve been Gemini?) and absolutely being freaked out by the size and strength of it. My brother even sat down and watched me fight it. It took me two tries, the first time I had it down to a sliver of health but I ran out of medicinal berries and it killed me, the second time I barely made it out and had to put the controller down for a minute. Good times!
when I arrived at the Quen landing site and saw this one from afar, it was fighting some of the Tenakht rebels and it was totally decimated by one of the rebels carrying an acidspitter. It was so awesome watching them fight and it's what I love about this game, the random encounters are really fun.
I had already fought a slaughter spine prior to going to Quen territory. But once there, I ran into another one, and it seemed sooooooo much harder. I didn't realize until the following night of play that I was still wearing the outfit that I got forced to switch into at the Dig Site. And also, I didn't have any spikes or material to make them. And those things are so much harder to handle without spikes.
I managed to kill one in 15 seconds on normal. The fastest I’ve done yet. However I think is wasn’t an apex version I can’t remember. Next time try the one on the mountain, it’s harder because there are a bunch of leaplashers there too to deal with at the same time
In normal difficulty, it is possible to one shot it. Use stealth valor (lvl 3 grants 200% extra dmg against unaware enemy) then use forgefall braced shots on weak point and it will deals anywhere from 5k, 7k or even up to 9k based on ur build. Instant one shot.
I first fought it. Is not as easy as it looks 😂 😅 Your fight when longer. Cuz you were hitting the indestructible plasma thing. Look at the damage when you hit it, compared to the damage to the other parts

I thought the same

Yeah I know what u mean, when u fight it in the main story it was like "meh" because i had already seen it
Funny i didn't even know till the last mission making it feel more impactful when i had to fight it.
That sunrise at the beginning was breathtaking
You're breathtaking 😉

it's basically a shin-mechagodzilla and I love it.

Also IT was apex
Apex slaughterspines have a challenge level of 64! that's 14 levels higher than Aloy's level cap!
I still kill it in seconds 😁

@@WizzyTheDizzy Yeah it still is not that difficult if u know what ur doing. Valor Surge, sharpshot build and ur ready to go
Nora thunder warrior, stealth valor surge (300% damage against unaware enemies) > braced shot weak spots, re enter stealth, repeat
You played more fearless on this one. Great reaction time.

I like how the main concept behind this game is that "Hey, let's make you hunt dino robots twice the size of the Burj Khalifa with a bow and arrow."
This looked liked a Monster Hunter hunt. No health bar and keep hitting it until it dies. I love it!
Fighting this thing is always so much easier once you remember to take off the NTA prior to the fight!

Very nice play
Do anyone know how to regain the herb during the fight in 5:04?
You hold up on the dpad. This restocks your ready to use berries from your inventory.
@@Voidheartd Thank you very much
Great vid !
YAS SUN SCOURGE MADE CORRODING KILL (its my fave weapon)
I found one of these up there in the mountains with bunch of kangaroos roaming around, took me a long while to kill it -_-
I wonder how mahy parts can you rip off those things. And is it possible to destroy all parts before killing the machine?
Good video
no purgewater trap?
BEAUTIFUL BEACH
Nice vid keep it up
Se não me engano esse é o alfa né? Parabéns por o vencido com certa "facilidade".
Well we can’t really know unless you DISPLAY ENEMY HEALTH!
I like your gameplay more than ‘one shot kill video’
Man slaughterspines are fucking cool

Every arrow that hit the chargers just hurt my soul. Wasted arrows lol
@@alexyoung6066 is this the case someone no looking where the machine is weak?
