He really was, so many things I've loved Get A Life, SNL (the Matt Foley Sketch), Ben Stiller Show (not only was he a cast member but the guy wrote sketches that I still remember 30 years later, like Ask Manson). I completely forgot he was on the Ben Stiller show until it was released on DVD. I didn't know who he was until Mr Show which is one of my all time favorite shows. Even when he wasn't doing all that much I used to visit his and David's site....I think it changed a few times but I seem to remember "Secret Newspaper"? I remember waiting forever to see Run Ronnie Run and all the drama that went through. I thought W/Bob and David was great, basically Mr Show season 5. Sorry for rambling but my point was I loved his work even before I knew who he was, so much great comedy from my late childhood to early adulthood were written by him.
Odenkirk discovered T&E and basically founded this style of lofi comedy. It’s really not that hard to see how some of that creative DNA carried over into other projects he was involved in.
It's awesome to know, a top tier actor, Emmy winner Bob Odenkirk, did a skit on Tim and Eric where he sensually rubs avocado juice all over his body, then acts having a vicious bowel movement. Incredible Tim and Eric, great job.
My own head canon says that the Cinco/Channel 5 world of Tim and Eric is the same as the BB/BCS universe, and that Saul Goodman used to do acting in local infomercials to help make ends meet.
The cross section of the human body at 0:41 showing the medicine entering through your forehead is awesome although a bit flawed. The absorption would also occur through the entire face and hands as well, thus the fast, reliable action of E-Z Kreme. Thats why in the beginning he hands back some papers and says "these are wrong", those are drafts of the cross section animation.
When I first started watching Breaking Bad and they introduced Saul, I kept thinking, "Where's Tim & Eric?" Now I watch this and all I can think of is "BETTER CALL SAUL"
Can't believe how perfect his performance is in this segment.. his lines are so perfectly annunciated and delivered, timing is also perfect, his facial expressions and mannerisms are so goofy yet so deliberate. If this isn't comedic genius at work I don't know what is.
Directing low budget commercials was one of Saul's talents and its totally believable that he would do some odd ones when he was working at the mail room to earn some extra cash.
