Fairbanks did a lot for Hollywood in those days, unfortunately they don´t make this good movies today and the Oscars is just a joke now.

An excellent bio on Doug Fairbanks... thank you. A long time Fairbanks fan, I got to meet Doug Jr. privately in his office on Park Ave. near his home. He was very gracious and signed two photos for me. I had brought one and he gave me a much better one which he also signed. In retrospect, I feel very embarrassed, as all we did was talk about his Dad and not at all about his own career.
I have done a pilgrimage to Doug Sr's hand prints at Grauman's Chinese Theater ...where I did a handstand.....lol.

I recommend to watch the restored version of 1924's "The Thief of Bagdad." It is one of the most beautiful films ever made.

Especially Eurekas Masters of Cinema from UK with music by Carl Davis. Maybe it is that restored version you mean. It´s very great indeed.

Thank you for this outstanding biography of Douglas Fairbanks (Sr.) he was an amazing talent!
Regarding United Artists: “The lunatics have taken charge of the asylum.” -- Richard Rowland, then head of Metro Pictures Corporation.
Unlike a hereditary monarch, Douglas Fairbanks could divorce his wife. A hereditary monarch had to stick it out because most
of the time he was in an arranged marriage to the offspring of another monarch (a divorce would have caused international
difficulties) Some did marry high-ranking nobles within their own country; but that was the exception not the rule. It wasn't
until the 20th century that monarchs began to marry non-royals/non-nobles. As we have seen in the 21st century, this has
been a mixed success and several hereditary heirs have divorced their wives before they became the monarch.

I am so tired of RUclips being filled with these hate pieces.

Yes, and many of these have incorrect information. But not only that, many of these are poorly done. This one is a bit better, but would benefit from better pacing.
