"Spring Day" is the longest charting song in S.Korea's Gaon Chart, 2 yrs now! More in-depth explanation by ItalianArmy shows a pic of the captain in black undershorts, being rescued (their coast guard didn't know that he'd told the kids to stay below cuz it was "too dangerous"to try to get out (yet he did?!)..Meantime, families were wailing on shore but regular citizens in boats were turned away by the captain, said ship sinking was "too dangerous", while their kids were drowning!..
Divers later said they found bodies of students with broken fingenails (trying to claw their way out from below deck😢😢😢😢..Apparently, they couldn't locate the President for 7 hrs, to notify her, it was found later, she was having an affair w/an associate's husband & couldn't be found, for hours..Later the school's Vice Principal was so overwhelmed by 300+ students' deaths, he committed suicide..Captain was found guilty & he got life, the crew got sentenced too, for yrs..
Remember "ThexTitanic" where lower class were in lower decks & when ship was sinking, were told to stay below, upper class were on top decks getting into lifeboats..😢😢😢

@@FloderFloKpopThe MV explanation only covers the very surface details of this horrific tragedy unfortunately and not the full truth and the incredibly cruel events that had happened and I really wish more people would read or watch videos about the full story like Rotten Mango's video about the Jewol Ferry Incident to learn about what had actually happened and how cruel and horrifying it actually was.
More people need to be aware of this incident and far too many people only know about the basics of this tragedy by watching short videos like the Spring Day explanation and that is a shame. This wasn't just a freak accident, it was an incredibly monstrous series of intentional events that had lead to the deaths of hundreds of innocent people that had lost their lives way too soon.
I think this song and MV made me love and respect BTS even more 💜
Just imagine..all this came out of the mind of our Leader, Kim Namjoon; he wrote this song; he's so brilliant; that's why he's admired and loved by millions around the world!

You Never Walk Alone it was BTS Wings extended album title on 2017. Spring Day is the main track of You Never Walk Alone album. BTS n Bighit also make a donation for 100 million won to sewol tragedy family. At that time, lot of sewol tragedy family collected their personal money to searching their child remain body in the sinking ship bcoz the government rejected to lift up the ship. So lot of people, celebrity n politician donate their money to help the family. But, artist n politician who shows their support for sewol victim family openly and critism the goverment will get blacklist by the goverment coz goverment made the sewol tragedy as a taboo topic.
This is why lot of korean Army feel worried when media exposed BTS make donation to the family's victim, they worried BTS wil get blacklist too just like some celebs who do the same thing. But fortunately, a months after this MV released, the president got impeachment after people do demonstration to demamd her to step down bcoz of her corruption case also is still have connection with sewol tragedy. All celebs n politicians who get blacklist before, get unlist and can work back to their fields again.

You know what..Jimin part that take the shoes from sea it really hit me..the fact that there are the last video of the student that looking for his shoes, before the ship is singking its really hit me hard😭😭😭..have you seen it??? This sewol ferry tragedy is so really sad , I’ve watched found video made by some students died in there during last moments in the ferry , I really cried and always crying when hearing Spring Day ,, hearing is like hearing the voices of the students crying for help..

Actually, this explanation video is kind of "light" version, there's another one, "what we still don't know about Spring Day". It goes even deeper into details, but I cried ugly watching this. But really advise you to check that one too.
For example, if you look on the clocks in laundry, it shows the time the ferry sinked.

Also the shot from inside of the washing machine looks like when you’re inside the ship, looking out through the window. Ship has round window which is what the laundry machine has. So I think that moment when the laundry was running symbolizes the exact moment when the ship was sinking/overturned literally, that’s what the victims saw while it was happening 😱😭
And there was also an article that released after 3-4years since this tragedy that acdg to family of the victims there was 7young boys who visited them secretly back 2014, involved themselves in burning incense and donated money. And BTS name was mentioned as the reference of those young men, the family was touched by the action since there was a blacklist of artists who speak against the government during those times and to think BTS was just a rookie back then and BigHit was struggling.

I am so glad you reacted to this. The meaning is so deep. I love when people take the time to watch this. What BTS achieved here was monumental. They created a beautiful song that people can relate to while paying tribute to all those lost young lives. It always makes me cry.

if you look, there is a comment on the theory video that mentions the shoes. in one of the videos recovered from the tragedy, you can hear one of the students asking around and looking for their shoes. those were the shoes that jimin found when they were washed up on the shore. the hanging of the shoes is also very important. it is common for shoes of lost loved ones to be hung in high places. it’s said that their soul will find the shoes easier that way, being that they are higher and more visible than when they are on the ground. when the shoes are found by the soul searching it makes their travel to heaven or the afterlife easier.
This song is THE song, more beautiful than any other mv, always made me cry since firat time also RM said that the wrote the song cuz he was missing some friends... I cried again watching this.

These last few months I’ve constantly been in awe because of how genius BTS are...
Now I’m in awe because of how cultured Flo is, he’d heard of nearly everything that was mentioned in the video while I’d heard of none.
My father was in the Navy and I remember him always telling me if I'm on a boat, the Captain goes down with the ship. If there are still people on board, the Captain should be too. If you see the Captain leaving, that means you should too.
I recently found out about the meaning of the song and always teared up hearing it😭😭😭😭It's so sad. While watching this I couldn't hold my tears, they kept flowing. I don't know but I feel so sad.😭😭This is why BTS is the best. 💜💜💜💖💖💖

The sinking of the Sevol ferry is one of the biggest in South Korea's recent history. There were 476 people on board. Most of the passengers (325) were students from Dangwon School on their way to Jeju Island for an excursion!
The ferry sank on the morning of April 16, 2014, 1.5 km off the coast of South Korea. The crash killed 305 people and rescued 172, including 75 schoolchildren. Shortly after the accident, the deputy principal of the school committed suicide.
The ferry left the port of Incheon on the Yellow Sea on Tuesday and was scheduled to enter the port on Jejudo Island. The ship with a capacity of 6825 tons of water sent a distress signal on April 16 at 04:58 Tashkent time. But it did not sink immediately, but tilted to one side.
Sadly, the rescue service was the first to receive 20 calls from students about rescue !!! Crew members and the captain did not report.
Instead of evacuating the passengers from the sinking ship, he ordered them to stay in cabins and was the first to leave the ship. Captain Lee Chun Sok, 69, and his crew were charged with murder a month after the tragedy. was ignited.
The ship's captain and crew were found guilty of the shipwreck.
The ship's captain was sentenced to life in prison, while the chief engineer and crew members were sentenced to long prison terms.
According to the surviving students who testified in court, “We waited and when the water started to come, our class teacher ordered us all to put on life jackets. The crew members continued to wait for us to stay on deck. They stayed in their cabins according to the crew's instructions even when the water came in. There were a lot of students in the hallway and they went back to their decks and told them to wait. The deck door was over our heads and he said we would sail. "The other guys who came out earlier took us away," said the schoolgirl.
Another student described how he climbed the stairs to the hatch and jumped into the sea: "My classmates, my friends are dead, they are gone, they are gone, and I am alive. I am ... at the same time separated and alive. the rest is tormented by guilt. Forget everything, keep living. No, we must never forget them, we must keep them in our hearts. I will never forget them !!! "
The then President of the Republic of Korea, Park Geun-hye, ordered the use of all available forces and means to rescue the passengers and crew of the shipwreck. The rescue operation will involve the crews of boats and helicopters of the coastal rescue service, HDK vessels. But ... it was too late !!!
"As the president of a country that is responsible for the lives and security of the people of South Korea, I apologize for all the suffering that has befallen the people," said President Park Geun-hye.
He asserted that the Coast Guard had failed to take immediate action. "A lot of people could have been saved," he said.
He was fired after five months of popular protests. The prime minister and many other officials have resigned.
Three years later, on March 23, 2017, the 145-meter-long, 6,825-ton ferry Sevol was pulled out of the water at a depth of 40 meters. $ 72 million was spent to get the ship out. He was taken to the port of Mokpo and searched for the bodies of nine missing people and to further clarify the cause of the disaster.

There are videos of the students both girls and boys, that went on the field trip; they kept remaining positive because they didn't want the other kids to panic.. they had 3 hrs full to evacuate but captain kept them in the dark about how bad the situation was;until the very end it was too late when they realized that they were sinking, and that they weren't going to be saved. one of the kids curses the captain and blamed him for his death. Divers recuperated the phones of the victims which is why they sentenced the captain to life in prision.

When the first boat arrived there was no one outside or in the water, which is incredibly odd because they were not told to evacuate but to stay where they are. Such tragic events!

I saw a documentary on this horrible tragedy and I cried like crazy. Specially when they showed survivors talking about waking the hallways of school after the incident and having most of their class not be there anymore and how that affects them everyday they were in school after the incident.
another detail in the video is that in the laundry room scene the clock is stuck on the time that the ferry sank and Jimin still has the shoes with him in the scene.
I think it’s interesting if that scene is really about “The Little Match Girl,” because the girl dies out in the cold. She was selling matches, but it was cold and she kept lighting the matches to see her loved ones until she ran out of matches and froze.
I think when jin was doing the camera action with his hands represents the children who were filming themselves right before the incedent (you can find the video on RUclips) these students were smiling and recording themselves while the ship was drowning they said that they will make it and comeback but they never could 😔 all we can do now is never forget them I'm not a korean but I literally cried after knowing the meaning behind this MV BTS is really something else they deserve all the respect they get hats off to these guys 💜

Bts is my world Don’t get overwhelmed by how much content there is. Just go at your own pace and follow where your interest takes you. One thing I do suggest is listening to their discography from the beginning if you haven’t already. It’s their foundation and you can see how much they’ve grown. It’s surprising how many ARMY only know from say, DNA on. Nothing wrong with that, but so much of their character and style is based in their early work, it’s great to have that exposure. 💜

4:35 this is really weird action for me. When I was a kid I always heard drivers, captains even the crews sacrifice themselves to save ppl as many as they can. However, when it comes to Korean events, what I heard about would be the "leaders" or someone in charging escape first. There is another event--Daegu subway fire, you can check it out too.

There's another great theory video about this, where it shows that you can also interpret the video in a more general way. For example it doesn't say that the train is society or government but the grief after losing someone you love. That grief often feels like an endless cycle that will never stop, just like the train in Snowpiercer, which never stops and just keeps going in circles, but in the end you can get out of it with the help of others.
